Plenty of gigging power at an unreal price.

The Kustom KG100HFX from the KG series is a classic 100W guitar amp head. It offers 2 channels (Rhythm and Lead), tone controls, and digital effects. The amplifier head will work with a wide variety of speaker cabinets, delivering 100W of heavy, powerful guitar tone.

The Kustom KG100HFX amp head's Rhythm channel offers clear, dynamic tones that are perfect for a wide variety of musical styles. Using the Gain control, the Lead channel can dish out anything from chunky classic rock sounds to the heaviest, scooped metal tones out there. The amp head's separate bass, middle, and treble controls let players fine-tune the tonal response as required.

In addition, the Kustom KG100HFX amp head provides built-in reverb and delay effects that may be activated on the amp's front panel. Reverb can provide anything from subtle room ambiance to an all-out wash of cavernous sound. Delay is perfect for fattening up lead tones, especially when combined with distortion. The Kustom amp head's Chorus adds a shimmering, liquid-like quality to the sound, especially with chords.

Like every Kustom KG amp, the KG100HFX offers an auxiliary input for plugging in an MP3 or CD player to practice, and it features an 1/8" headphone input. Now you can use your Kustom KG100FX to practice along with MP3s all without the need for a speaker cabinet. Just plug in your headphones and rock.

An Effects Loop with Send and Return jacks provide flexibility for integrating external effects and processors. A single-function footswitch (not included) may be used with the Kustom KG100FX to switch between Rhythm and Lead channels.

All Kustom KG Series amplifiers including the Kustom KG100FX amp head provide a 5-year, transferable electronics warranty to give buyers extra piece of mind with their purchase.

Slightly smaller than a traditional 4x12, the Kustom KG412 guitar speaker cabinet is built with plywood for enhanced resonance and loaded with 4 - 12" Kustom speakers. It handles 120 watts RMS/240 watts peak. Just wait until you hear it.

You Get What You Pay For

Features:

The versatility of this stack is minimal at best.... the dual channnel is nice, and the added push on push off chorus and reverb are a nice touch, but the they dont enhance enough to make up for the lack of tonal range.  There needs to be alot more gain, and shape control.  Ran clean with a floor multi effects this little power house does deliver, but as a stand alone, i dont recommend.

Quality:

Quality..... in this day and age, that is pretty hard to come by.... over all the head and cabinet are well made, and appears to be pretty solid, why i rated this so low was quality of control checks.... there are 2 green dots with different initials on the rear input plate of the slant cab signifying that it has been checked at least twice for quality control, the problem... how can they test a unit that has no input jack to plug into?!  i had to take the rear play off completely and 'fish' around the inside of the cab hoping that i could find the input jack to install it myself on the rear plate.... after the minor, inconvenient repair, all was good.

Value:

Cons aside, the unit performs LOUD, which is what i was after, and for the money you cant really beat this set up.

Overall:

Overalll I would recommend this product for a light rock, country, or blue grass group. Mainly playing smaller venues, bars, nightclubs, etc.

If you want to play fairly big venues, are looking for killer tonal distortion, shred, or looking for a darker sound, this unit is not for you.

Review of KG100HFX and KG412 Half Stack

Features:

I bought the KG100HFX and KG412 Half Stack Combo after my fender 2 x 12 princeton blew up. I bought this combo mostly for the price and was not expecting much. First of all.  Went out to the studio and plugged it in not expecting too much......Man was i blown away it delivered a knock out punch I have played through amps and 4 x 12's that cost 5 times as much as this unit. This Kustom amp and 4 x 12 sounds and rocks like the big boys. I would recommend this amp and 4 x 12 to any intermediate guitar player. You can rock like the big boys at a fraction of the cost. Very satisfied. In fact, I have now bought a second unit. Love it!

A good amp overall.

If you need something versatile on a budget, definitely consider this amp.  The on board effects are not the greatest, but they do well enough for someone using this amp for jamming or just playing on 11 by yourself.  Although, invest in some stomp boxes if you plan on gigging.

In the styles of music that I play, I can get what ever sound that I want with very few teaks on the head itself providing a very clear sound with immense depth.  Even at low levels, you can tell that this amp wants to play loud and scream.  A great buy for a first half stack or someone pinching pennies.

Overall I'm very happy I bought this stack. I'm a guitarist in a gigging metal band and needed something to get me by until I was able to afford something better. I now have a lot better set up than this amp, but for the beginner guitarist or someone who's on a budget, I definitely reccomend this one. It's cheaper than the "Randall","Raven", and even the "Crate", and in my opinion this one is just as good if not better. Great job on a great amp Kustom

The features on this amp are very acceptable for how cheap the amp is. It has two channels (a clean and a distortion) which are both very good. It also has reverb, delay, and chorus. Which if you are a beginner or a musician on a budget, that's all you really need.

This stack is put together very well. It's sturdy, I've owned mine for quite a while now with no problems at all. It can get a little noisy when you're on the distorted channel, but that's kind of expected. All around, again, this is an awesome amp for the price.

The amp surpassed what I expected to get out of it when I ordered it. I was thinking, well this is about all I can afford right now and I needed an amp for gigging. It's done everything I bought it for and a little more.
