Plenty of gigging power at an unreal price.

The Kustom KG100HFX from the KG series is a classic 100W guitar amp head. It offers 2 channels (Rhythm and Lead), tone controls, and digital effects. The amplifier head will work with a wide variety of speaker cabinets, delivering 100W of heavy, powerful guitar tone.

The Kustom KG100HFX amp head's Rhythm channel offers clear, dynamic tones that are perfect for a wide variety of musical styles. Using the Gain control, the Lead channel can dish out anything from chunky classic rock sounds to the heaviest, scooped metal tones out there. The amp head's separate bass, middle, and treble controls let players fine-tune the tonal response as required.

In addition, the Kustom KG100HFX amp head provides built-in reverb and delay effects that may be activated on the amp's front panel. Reverb can provide anything from subtle room ambiance to an all-out wash of cavernous sound. Delay is perfect for fattening up lead tones, especially when combined with distortion. The Kustom amp head's Chorus adds a shimmering, liquid-like quality to the sound, especially with chords.

Like every Kustom KG amp, the KG100HFX offers an auxiliary input for plugging in an MP3 or CD player to practice, and it features an 1/8" headphone input. Now you can use your Kustom KG100FX to practice along with MP3s all without the need for a speaker cabinet. Just plug in your headphones and rock.

An Effects Loop with Send and Return jacks provide flexibility for integrating external effects and processors. A single-function footswitch (not included) may be used with the Kustom KG100FX to switch between Rhythm and Lead channels.

All Kustom KG Series amplifiers including the Kustom KG100FX amp head provide a 5-year, transferable electronics warranty to give buyers extra piece of mind with their purchase.

Slightly smaller than a traditional 4x12, the Kustom KG412 guitar speaker cabinet is built with plywood for enhanced resonance and loaded with 4 - 12" Kustom speakers. It handles 120 watts RMS/240 watts peak. Just wait until you hear it.

First off. I agree with all the Other Reviews posted. They are true and correct.
This is a worthy/decent Half Stack for the Price.
The Amp Has the Power. On it's Own the Distortion is a Fantastic starting point for many styles.
However, the long term effect is that you will need to develope Your Own pedal board collection to make this Stack Your own. Out of the Box it has Respectable Distortion and clean tones. Nothing to be disappointed with in a purchase. You get Power and SOund Depth as a Base of Your quest for Original Customized Sound. SO this stack depends on You completing the package with well thought of effects pedals. It's up to You to make the Sound happen for Your style.
Now, the one thing is the built in effects. To tell the Truth they (Rever/delay/chorus) have minimal effect on the Overall sound. WHich is No Big Deal seeing that you will be upgrading this stack with pedals to replace these default effects. The Amps effects add a little thats needed to influence the sound. But do not expect drastic variations of the built in effects. They create minimal ambience to the out of the box sound. Again it's up to You to Upgrade to external pedals and with the right choices you can achieve top performance results and just forget about the built in effects. This is no big deal in the Long Run as You build Your Sound for this Amp. With the Right Choice of pedals this Stack will Compete with other Top Rigs. Important to see the Long Term - Low Price leaves Room for Expansion into a customized pedal based Rig that will compete. If you make smart pedal choices you will have no problem standing with other guitarists no matter their rig.
One annoying thing is you have to buy a seperate channel switching pedal to switch between Lead/Rhythm. It's no big deal? But it would have been so much more convienient to have the pedal included. A few more dollars will get you one. So I just have to make a minimal investment just to get one. Again, no biggy.
Overall it is worth the money.
The sound has a depth caracteristic which is something that Crate or Randall (comparative priced stacks) dont really have as much of, as this stack does. Thats why the name Kustom is good. This Stack is the basis for a very thick and deep sound. NOw You just have to Kustomize this basis for Your sound.
Only gripe. When I got the Cabinet delivered. The Box was totally beaten up like it went through a war zone. I was like "What the...?" But it turns out the Cabinet survived intact. No Damage. But I was worried unpacking it. ALl was good. The head had no Box damage.

If you need something versatile on a budget, definitely consider this amp. The on board effects are not the greatest, but they do well enough for someone using this amp for jamming or just playing on 11 by yourself. Although, invest in some stomp boxes if you plan on gigging.

In the styles of music that I play, I can get what ever sound that I want with very few teaks on the head itself providing a very clear sound with immense depth. Even at low levels, you can tell that this amp wants to play loud and scream. A great buy for a first half stack or someone pinching pennies.

Comments about Kustom KG100HFX and KG412 Half Stack:

So basically this is a very simple stack.I can get a limited amount of sound from the head itself (which I'm always happy with the sounds I get from this stack). That being said, even with the awesome sounds this amp can voice, pedals will most likely be necessary for the tone you want. I run a BOSS MT-2 distortion pedal through this and the combination makes my guitar sing! I play through this stack in my punk rock band and I always get compliments on how sweet my tone is! (which obviously is subjective) You can't go wrong with an amp like this for the price! If you're a person who likes delay you may also want to run a delay pedal in your pedal mix. Anywho, this amp is killer with the right pedals so it's definitely a good buy.

This is a great amp. Don't let some kid spending his Daddy's money tell you otherwise. Yeah, we'd all like to drive a Mercedes and be able to afford the top of the line, but the fact is, if you are a musician, you are probably driving an Escort and looking to jam. Get this amp, plug in, turn it up, and enjoy. The big stuff will come later...

I am not a tone guru by any stretch, I play a Mexican Strat setup with 11s And with my little RP90 this amp is awesome. I moved up from a Kustom Double Barrel combo amp to this and I can get really great clean tones and super punchy metal tones at decent volumes with this amp. The on board effects are lacking but thats what pedals are for. All in all for the price i would for sure encourage this product.

Comments about Kustom KG100HFX and KG412 Half Stack:

I just received this as a Christmas present from my wife. I hooked it up and plugged my American Strat-O-Balster in and OMG, every picture in the house almost jumped of their hooks! We couldn't find the cat for a couple of hours. I don't think I'll go back to a Combi any time soon. The effects are a bit week by I can fix that with a pedal board. For the money, this system can't be beat. Thanks for all the great reviews, it helped my wife make her decision with confidence.

The amp is loud, and has two channels Gain and Rhythm. There is a delay/reverb button and a chorus button; you can choose how much FX with a turnknob. Low/Mid/High turnknobs control the sound quality and gain/ volume knobs conrol the distortion and volume. You can plug in your headphones and jam on the head without the cab and also plug in a tuner/Mp3 or cd player for an aux device to play through at the same time as you are jamming. I like it and I like to use Kustom.

I had the money to spare and was origanaly thinking of getting a MARSHAL stack. I did some reviewing via YOUTUBE to see the key differences between the 2 and a few other brands. In my opinion this thing really does stand up to a marshal! Im not saying it is a marshal or better than. I'm saying it can stand up to the same class of amps! So when I got it in the mail I didn't have much of any expectation for it. Pluged it in and it woke me up really fast and even made my band members heads turn! Good stuff!

You Get What You Pay For

            By David Vacca

            from Central Illinois

Comments about Kustom KG100HFX and KG412 Half Stack:

Overalll I would recommend this product for a light rock, country, or blue grass group. Mainly playing smaller venues, bars, nightclubs, etc.

If you want to play fairly big venues, are looking for killer tonal distortion, shred, or looking for a darker sound, this unit is not for you.
The versatility of this stack is minimal at best.... the dual channnel is nice, and the added push on push off chorus and reverb are a nice touch, but the they dont enhance enough to make up for the lack of tonal range. There needs to be alot more gain, and shape control. Ran clean with a floor multi effects this little power house does deliver, but as a stand alone, i dont recommend.
Quality..... in this day and age, that is pretty hard to come by.... over all the head and cabinet are well made, and appears to be pretty solid, why i rated this so low was quality of control checks.... there are 2 green dots with different initials on the rear input plate of the slant cab signifying that it has been checked at least twice for quality control, the problem... how can they test a unit that has no input jack to plug into?! i had to take the rear play off completely and 'fish' around the inside of the cab hoping that i could find the input jack to install it myself on the rear plate.... after the minor, inconvenient repair, all was good.
Cons aside, the unit performs LOUD, which is what i was after, and for the money you cant really beat this set up.

Comments about Kustom KG100HFX and KG412 Half Stack:

I like this unit because the price range is affordable and you get the sound of the high priced amps at a fraction of the cost.
I bought the KG100HFX and KG412 Half Stack Combo after my fender 2 x 12 princeton blew up. I bought this combo mostly for the price and was not expecting much. First of all. Went out to the studio and plugged it in not expecting too much......Man was i blown away it delivered a knock out punch I have played through amps and 4 x 12's that cost 5 times as much as this unit. This Kustom amp and 4 x 12 sounds and rocks like the big boys. I would recommend this amp and 4 x 12 to any intermediate guitar player. You can rock like the big boys at a fraction of the cost. Very satisfied. In fact, I have now bought a second unit. Love it!
