OVERVIEW

Vast tone selection, built with strong construction, portability, and simple operation.

The 20W Kustom KG112FX combo guitar amplifier boast a 12" Kustom speaker, 2 channels, and tasty reverb and delay effects. Kustom designed the KG112FX combo to offer a wide range of clean and dirty tones, while providing rugged dependability and intuitive operation.

The KG112FX amp's Rhythm channel offers clear, dynamic tones that are perfect for a wide variety of musical styles. Using the Gain control, the Lead channel can dish out anything from chunky Classic Rock sounds to the heaviest, modern Metal tones out there. Separate Bass, Middle and Treble controls let players fine-tune the amp's tonal response as required.

In addition, the KG112FX provides built-in Reverb and Delay effects that may be activated on the amp's front panel. Reverb can provide anything from subtle room ambiance to an all-out wash of cavernous sound. Delay is perfect for fattening up lead tones, especially when combined with distortion.

Like every Kustom KG amplifier, the KG112FX offers an auxiliary input for plugging in an MP3 or CD player to practice along with tunes and a 1/8" headphone input that silences the internal speaker for late-night playing. Your family and neighbors will love it.

All KG Series amplifiers include a 5-year, transferable electronics warranty to give you extra peace-of-mind with your purchase.

Cant' be beat
After checking Musician's Friend's offerings in this category and price range. This amp gives you the best bang for the buck.

I bought an Acoustic amp last year to take to Haiti, due to it''s size. My son saw that amp and wanted one for his dorm room. The Kustom is the equal of the Acoustic in every way. I also considered the Crate.

For one hundred bucks, the main issue is value, and you get it with Kustom. The increased wattage over another small amp the Ibanez with 15 is good. Also, speaker size 12 inches versus 10 inch and 8 inches. So I went for watts and inches with Kustom.

Two features set the Kustom's amp up as a favorite: The MP3 jack input, allows you to put your music from Itunes and others directly into the amp to use as a PA or practice with your music. My older son tried this out and I heard him go, "Oh, it has a Delay". So, a few bells and whistles, make this a no-brainer. you get your money's worth.

Value, now what other amp in this price range gives you a 5, yes five year warranty. I didn't even consider MF's extended warranty on this unit, it already has one.

This is headed for a dorm room UCA Bears. Just a side note. Last week we heard our son entered a talent competition on campus. He took first place playing a $215 acoustic I hot-rodded in 2005 for him, an Ibanez Artwood solid spruce top dreadnaught. We installed a K and K sound dot come pure western mini pickup in that. His take: $150 for the first place win. Way to go JP.

He comes in this weekend to pickup this little amp. He wanted something small and with these features of the Kustom, this is destined to finish college with him. It's all about the music. Thanks MF for the nice amp.
very good, fit and finish is good. love the blue lit switch. reminds you to switch it off.
excellent, 20 watts and 12 inch speaker. wear ear plugs.... right....!

Could have been the perfect practice amp (or gig amp if mic'd properly) for the money.

Sadly, performance is severly limited by potentiometers (or circuitry) for the gain on both the Lead AND Rhythm channels not transitioning smoothly from low levels to higher levels (at the lower end of the spectrum). They will not allow for the volume to be turned off completely. The volume stays at one level until it suddenly hits when the gain knobs on either channel get to about 7 o'clock.

Also, the two (2) effects that it offers (Reverb & Delay) are both terrible.

On paper the KG112FX 20W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp with Digital Effects SOUNDS awesome. As I noted, it does have many positives: Powerful; 12 Inch Speaker; 20 Watts; 3.5mm Auxillary Input; 3.5mm Headphone Output; Loud; and Equalizer w/ Bass, Middle, Treble.

I have sent mine back several times and have my THIRD (3rd) one now. I have dealt with Musician's Friend each time and they have been very accommodating, sending me a new one each time, but each one has the exact same problem!!!

I can live with the effect not being any good, as I can turn down the level to where they are barely noticeable. Unfortunately, for ME, the gain potentiometer issue is a "Deal-Breaker".

If you like it loud ALL the time, then I recommend this amp.

If you like to have precise control over levels, tones, and effects then I do NOT recommend this amp.

Kustom kg112fx 20 watt amp

Comments about Kustom KG112FX 20W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp with Digital Effects:

Rhythm channel is clean with tremedous sparkle. Best I've heard in an amp this size and price. A ton of treble--too much for me. but I play jazz and need depth which, if the bass is turned up full and the mid and treble turned down, is very pleasing. For the money you can't beat this little amp. Effects are poor, and the overdrive is dodgy--but use your own. What makes this amp is the 12" speaker. The other 20 watt amps with 8" speakers can't produce the range of tone.

great sounding amp

Comments about Kustom KG112FX 20W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp with Digital Effects:

i bought this amp a couple of weeks ago and im still amazed with the sound from this amp.The tone is way better than average for an amp in this price range. The clean has a bright, fat tone played throught my telecaster and the distortion is great for blues, classic rock. This is not the kind of amp for heavy metal but,the amp still has the kind of distortion to do zz top,ac/dc,etc.I've played guitar around 20 years now and i have owned alot of tube amps and solid state amps and this one holds its own.As one guy stated the effects are a little weak even turned all the way up but,I tend to use a little too much delay anyways.Overall,This amp sounds much better than the crate, behringer and other solid state amps I've had in the past and it's extremely light weight.I would definitely recommend this amp and put it against other amps that are twice the price anyday

Comments about Kustom KG112FX 20W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp with Digital Effects:

This amp is great clean. The gain will give you enough distortion and sustain to make most Jimi or Clapton fans happy. The effects are good but not stomp box quality. Add a Digitech RG70 to this thing and rock on. Great for something to carry with you to jam with friends. Not big enough to gig but you knew that.

Comments about Kustom KG112FX 20W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp with Digital Effects:

After having purchased a very disappointing Marshall MG15CF, I bought this amp and I couldn't be happier with it. (I have since returned the Marshall.) Tonally, this amp is seriously bright and mucho loud. I've never heard a 20 watt amp with so much volume. The tone controls are very responsive. A 12" speaker can be somewhat mushy if you have the bass and midrange levels cranked but if you are looking for a bright and clean sounding amp, you will not find a better deal for the price. I play two Les Pauls, one with a mahogany top and one with a maple top and both sound awesome through this little beast. The overdrive channel is superb and miles above most solid state overdrive channels which tend to be nothing but a bland and uninteresting crunch. (I prefer to use the clean channel and let my MXR Distortion+ do the "dirty work".) The onboard FX (Reverb and Delay) are of no use whatsoever as they are practically inaudible but any serious player will already have these FX in pedal form so I do not count this as a fault. This amp is very lightweight, has an open-backed cabinet and features a detachable power cord that can be stored in the back. This cord is the same cord used on most home computers so it can be easily replaced should it become lost or damaged. Simply put, this is a great amp at an even greater price.

Comments about Kustom KG112FX 20W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp with Digital Effects:

Nice clean, full sound. Very vintage Fender sound. Reverb sounds a bit "sproingy", delay is a nicer filler. Overdrive channel is pretty useless, but any stomp box solves that and you choose your own soloing sound a-la-carte anyway. Can't believe how light this thing is. For small gigs with no drummer this thing even works great as a bass amp. You can crank it to maybe 95 Db with no break up. Real useful all around tote-and-go. Can't beat it in this price range.

Got this for the school where I teach guitar. What a great amp for the price! The build quality is excellent. The smooth-cone speaker has a nice vintage tone. The rhythm channel is nice and clean with sparkle; the lead channel has a decent overdrive that can be dialed from mild to heavy. It doesn't sound like a dual-rectifier but you can get a decent Deep Purple 70s sound. The only feature that it lacks at this price point is an input for a foot switch to change channels. We will be getting more of these for the school!
