this amp is a gigers dream. Has gobs of power w/out having to tote around a stack. the stereo effects are astounding! you can set them up to use four at once, like having a bunch of stomp boxes but there all one 5 button controllerthat uses a cat5 cable. The tube tone that comesfrom this thing is so sweet for a combo amp. The wav mode will rival any tube stack, and the clean tones would make eric clapton smile. If you play todays alternative rock and you like that type of tone then this might not be your amp but if your a rocker from the 80's alla: VanHalen,Scorpions,Journey,Bon Jovi, etc. This thing has the tone and all the effects you need to play various tunes. If youv'e never played with stereo effects, when you do you'll never go back to mono again.
I love mine! I've kept it in a road case since I got it, looks brand new, even though I've had it for several years.
- Was this a gift?:
- easy to use
- Raunchy Lead
- Smooth Rythym Section
- Vavle Preamp
Easy to use with plenty of grunt but the 12AX7B Chinese preamp valve is a bit underdriven ... it sounds a bit tinny / glassy - would be better served with a more sensitive replacement valve with a bit more tone. Suggest a TAD7025WA, MesaBoogie STR SPAX7-A,or JJ ECC-835. The final amp has insufficient cooling fins for sustained use so I suggest installing a 12V X 120mm PC cooling fan in the rear of the unit to move the air. The original valve died after a gig two years down the track. Overall it is very robust but requires a bit of tweaking / modding to get the most out of it. As it has built in effects which are quite good I enjoy using it.

First off this amp looks cool, Kustom did a good job with appearance. However, the black paint flakes and chips easily, this is why I rated the quality low. The sound out of this amp is great. Controls are easy to use and laid out well. With the tube pre amp, 4 lead channels + boost and the clean channel this amp has a lot to offer. I would compare the sound of this amp to the best Marshall and Fender combo amps. If you don?t like the lead channel sound, you can switch the tube for a different compatible kind, this will change your gain to either a grittier or smoother sound depending on the tube (but make sure you know what you are doing). Add the on board effects and you have a really nice amp. Don?t expect the effects to replace a multi board but you get a lot from it. The included foot switch is also a nice add bonus. For the sale price I got this at from MF, this amp is a bargain. If you don?t mind a few paint chips coming off the frame , this amp is for you.
This amp. is a monster! This is my first experience with a digital effects equipped guitar combo amp, and it is amazing. The sound effect combonations are endless. I've played a Washburn D10CEQ acoustic, as well as an Agile AL-2000 L.P. copy, through the amp and the results were both very desireable. The only fault I can find is one of the wheel castors does not fully insert into the bottom of the amp, giving it an annoying wobble. Otherwise if you're in the market for a new guitar amp, steal this one while the price is so low. Keep pickin' 'n' Strummin'
I've had this amp for about a year or so now, and at first I Loved it. I still do, but its not that durable. The volume knob on the clean channel has sorta shorted out on me. The distortion is very nice though. The first 2 sections are run by tube, and sound great. The other 2 are good for more modern music. I use a processor and I just put it through the tube channels and it makes my processor sound like its worth twice as much as the amp. The effects are fun to mess with, and can be of great use, if you have music that go along with the set rythms of them. That is the only flaw, along with the lack of durability. Oh and those celestion speakers can handle this amp wondefully, they don't over distort or start to sound like horns when you put it at 11 and turn the boost on.
