Comments about Laney LC15 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This little amp cooks!! Nothing like similar sized and priced small tube amps. Most small amps like this need high volume or pedals to reach rich tube saturation/distortion. This amp is a gain monster, sounds very similar to a Marshall circuit. The tube distortion has a fuzz like quality at high gain and volume, in fact, when pushing it with a Big M. fuzz pedal the pedal does not add much color like you would think, it just increases the already fuzzy gain goodness. Some may not like the low headroom. Very limited a clean tones, you can get a few usable cleans but the amp shines when pushed for sure. Mine came with Ruby matched el84's and a Celestion 10-40 N speaker, which is not the lower level Celestions some small combos come with. Reverb sounds nice also. Too bad it's discontinued because it is a bedroom tube saturation lover's dream come true.

Comments about Laney LC15 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Mine is one of the ones they made in the UK the 1980s. Have had it for over 20 years. It's got great British character, and is clearly inspired by vintage Plexis. With volume around 4 and gain at 5 - 6, this thing is a straight-up, sucka-and-fool-pittyin' killer. Think Ramble On by Zeppelin or the Who Live at Leeds kind of tone. Too bad they discontinued it. One issue with the older ones like the one I have is noise. At higher volumes with single coils, it produces a lot of hum. You can probably find used ones for less than comparable Fenders, Marshalls, or Voxes. If you do, definitely grab one.

Comments about Laney LC15 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Had Fender Pro Jr. sold it, lousy tone, way overpriced. Ordered Fender Super Champ X2, too digital, returned it. Bought this open box Laney LC15-110 and it just SMOKES the other two. The description doesn't mention it has a Celestion speaker, an extension speaker jack, reverb, full EQ and sounds amazing. These have been discontinued and on sale at an unbelievable price . If you want a great deal on a excellent tone machine grab one while they're still available !!

Comments about Laney LC15 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I play alone, sometimes with a looper. I'm finicky, but don't have Carr money. Don't even have Princeton money. Heard good things about Laney and so when I saw it on sale, i bought it. Before, I've had the Blues Jr. and the Ampeg GVT 12. They were good tube amps, just enough to gig enough, though I don't gig, but the sound of the two was too loose, loud enough for my needs but too loose. The Laney LC 15 is a small, practice amp with a lot of power and when you turn it up, wanting something louder, the small size cannot take, and the loudness seems forced. That said, it is a very tight sounding amp, solidly built, taking pedals - delay, chorus - quite well. Equalizer is tremendously responsive and elevates my tele. These are discontinued, I think, and the LC 30, which is the next level up, is all gone. If they had something in between, like a LC 21.5, it would be perfect. But alas, we live in imperfect times, as we always have.
