This little amp just oozes all the tone I've been trying to find without earbleeding volume.  I just mic it to get the volume on stage.  The tone control is a cool feature.  The cleans sparkle and the drive is great through rock tone.  I wouldn't say it is a metal amp though it takes pedals very well.  Just for fun I have a line 6 Ubermetal (monster gain in a box) in my pedal board. It is as metal as I've ever heard.  Really, this amp lives in the rock to blues range and you can get power tube distortion at relatively low volumes. The Greenback sounds incredible - big suprise - and I add a 1x12 with a Vintage 30 if I need to move a little more air.  The two blend nicely and it gives you drummer level volume though I would say the drummer can't hugely loud (breakout the microphones).  This amp is by far the best tone beast in the price range - and then some.  Buy it if you can - they are hard to catch in stores to hear.

The sounds this amp makes will blow you away. After getting a little cash I was searching for an amp to do my guitar justice (Ibanez Prestige). I tried a Blackstar HT-5 which sounded pretty good, and some other low watt tube amps (Rebel, TT etc..). Then there was a used Lionheart on CL for 650. I tried it out and bought it on the spot. The reverb is great, the EQ is great and responsive (tone control is neat), bright switch is a nice addition, clean is great and drive is AMAZING. I do wish the drive had just a little more definition on single notes but I have only played one guitar through this amp so far so that might be my pickups. This amp also takes pedals VERY well. I have a DOD YJM308 and they work fantastic together. I highly recommend this amp. Quite possibly the best low watt tube amp you can buy.

This is the amp you are looking for. Just stop trying to find a better amp, because there isn't one. Marshalls are great when cranked, but when are you ever going to get it that loud? Fenders are great, too, and they sound good loud, but just OK at low volume. Rich and full sound at reasonable volumes, but still pretty loud for use at home. I have never had so much fun playing an amp. Use a tube screamer and a distortion pedal, too, if you like.

I'd owned high-wattage amps for 30 years before purchasing a Blackheart Little Giant and modding it.  I was so impressed with the sounds I was getting that I bought a Vibro-Champ clone and then the Lionheart.  For my style of blues/rock and playing in worship, there is no better amp that I've played.  It has a huge, fat sound... like a million bucks, even at low volume.  I use and 112 cab with a Vox Wharfedale 12" speaker for added punch and it complements the G12H very nicely.  This amp looks and sounds fantastic.  Laney support is very good, as well.  I've had a number of Laneys in the past that I questions about and they are great to work with.  However, I've never had a repair issue with any of my Laneys.

Very loud, saturates early, and really responds to a boost pedal. I run a Boss DS-1 with the gain off, tone and level maxed, and this kicks my drive channel into blissful classic rock chunk and lead on the drive channel. An Alternative dream. A perfect studio amp just waiting for your favorite pedals. Made in England. Once the Greenback gets broken in, you'll marvel at the tones. I sometimes stare at the back panel and drool! If you can't get this to scream, you suck as a guitar player, period.
