OVERVIEW

The low wattage amp you've been waiting for.

The TI15-112 takes all the raw power and tone of the TI100's high gain channel and crams it into a compact single channel all tube amp. Utilizing Laney's unique dual wattage input option means you can push the EL84 output section hard and get 15 watts RMS of full on tone or plug into the "less than 1 watt" and get exactly that - your same great tone but at less than 1 watt. This amazing amplifier is an excellent studio pet, delivering monster tone at manageable volume, or even through the speaker-emulated recording output.

The TI15-112 also features the cool flexibility of being able to record both silently, for late night recording sessions or in live situations via the SPEAKER EMULATED RECORD OUT feature on the rear panel. The TI15-112 is finished in Tony's trademark black and cross livery.

Comments about Laney Tony Iommi Signature 15W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

First of all, this amp was designed and built to mimic - albeit at somewhat lower volumes - the great dark tones of Tony Iommi and classic Black Sabbath. With the right guitar, such as a new Gibson or Epiphone Tony Iommi SG model (or almost any older Gibson SG), you can get that tone with this amp. For its size and wattage rating (15 watts RMS), it is one VERY LOUD 1x12" combo! Cranked to max, it is guaranteed to disturb your neighbors in houses nearby. Try it in an apartment, and police visits and/or eviction could be in your future! So this is by no means a "small" room amp, as it is meant to be cranked to get the full sonic assault it is meant to deliver. Oh, and with all the chicken head knobs, you will definitely want to spend some quality time with it to insure you fine tune the sounds you want this evil little amp to produce - the tonal variety possible is actually fairly amazing. Similar small Marshall, Bad Cat, and Vox tube amps come nowhere close to the palette the Laney TI-112 provides, just be prepared to spend some time with it. Rock ON!

Comments about Laney Tony Iommi Signature 15W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Excellent Tube combo amp with many features; 12" speaker, 15w or 1watt inputs and straight forward controls! Also effects send/return, CD/MP3 input jack and Headphone jack for quite practicing in apartment. Great for learning songs and practicing but also loud enough for performance if miked up. If you are into Sabbath or Doom, get a Gibson SG with P90s and run a treble booster or overdrive pedal through the front input and adjust your Drive/Boost controls accordingly for that early Sabbath tone. For clean, back off the drive and turn up the volume, add a reverb or delay pedal through the effects send/return and Viola! great clean tones! Everyone comments how tight the low end is and how clear the sound even cranked with the drive all the way! I only wanted this amp for early Sabbath stuff which it nails with some adjusting of the tone and mids but it will do a variety of music styles if you need. Tough, well built British Amplifier with that great tone of a tube amp. Plus, Tony uses it to warm up with backstage so, that was enough for me!

Comments about Laney Tony Iommi Signature 15W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I've been playing guitar for 47 years and played in numerous bands during that time, through about a dozen different amps. Since first hearing Black Sabbath, I was hooked, buying the vinyl the next day. First saw Black Sabbath at the famed Cobo Arena in Detroit in 1974. I've been chasing that signature sound ever since. Thought the answer was going to the Tony Iommi 15w, but ended up terribly disappointed. Not even close. Very high noise floor, noisy pre-amp and worst yet doesn't even come close to matching the range master that gave Tony his signature sound. This model is made in China, enough said. Worked with Musiciansfriend.com and tried to find details on manufacturing control, but Laney refused to answer. Tried to get schematic to get local service to upgrade transformers and add choke, but Laney refused. Tried to find out whether parts were available when warranty expired and Laney refused to answer. Laney advertises numerous domestic service locations on their website, however, after contacting about a dozen listings, found there were none. The only repair facility is in New Jersey. Very evasive concerning repairs, just offer to send it back, it seemed. There are extremely good pedals for a third the price which sound much much better.

Comments about Laney Tony Iommi Signature 15W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp has great overdrive and distortion sounds and can clean up pretty good if you back off the drive. This amp is small and compact but has a big sound. Its very loud for 15 watts and even on the 1 watt setting its loud but can be used at bedroom levels if you lower the volume. The amp looks good, sounds good and is Tony Iommi's personal warm up amp. "Nuff" said.

Comments about Laney Tony Iommi Signature 15W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Very sweet amp right out of the box. I had to tweak it with some new EL84S tubes and different preamp tubes. Setting the bias was easy with the onboard bias pot. Sounds great, nicely made. Sounds even better once the speaker breaks in. The "Dynamics" knob is a nice touch - like a resonance control for bass.
