The Leslie 2101 and 2121 total system improves the rich leslie projection, sound quality and unbeatable performance of all electronic keyboards and Hammond organs especially the
While the 2101 works as advertised and has some great features that I have been longing to see (MIDI, speed control), I was ultimately disappointed in the 2101 in use with my Clavia Electro2. Coupling it with different bass amps to carry the low frequencies and trying every gain and EQ possible was a source of frustration; I never got the classic Leslie sound that I was accustomed to. In fairness, perhaps I should have bought the accompanying amplified stationary cabinet. By trying to make this system all things to all players, I feel Leslie missed the mark. The stationary midrange speakers and accompanying amplification made the box much heavier and larger than it needed to be, and the presence of various obtuse amplification and motor components ultimately affected the acoustics of the device. I went back to the Leslie emulation on my Clavia Electro2. Leslie needs to ditch the stationary speakers and simplify a bit.
The Leslie System 21 rotary unit and stationary unit used together form just an amazing piece of equipment! This is the real deal! Finally, a portable, road-worthy Leslie! This is a great, great rig! Very powerful and clean sounding, but it can also sound as over-driven as you could possibly want. It looks really good in all black, and it is made to travel very well. I am excited every time I turn this baby on! It sounds tremendous!!
I am using this speaker with a Korg CX-3. It is very loud in the low ends, but the highs cannot compete with a fender deville amp plus drums in band practice. Luckily, It will be fine for shows where it has a mic up to it.
The Leslie 21 System rotary unit is a well made piece of musical equipment. I have taken it on the road for 6 months now and have had absolutely no problems. It is lightweight and easy to carry/transport. I use the lower stationary unit with it, and the combination is a logical, well thought out concept.
