Comments about Line 6 EX1 Expression Pedal:

A very unfortunate poor quality product from a company who has a reputation for much better quality than this. More expensive than the cheaper expression pedals, cheaper in construction than even the cheapest of those, except for the line 6 logo which is kinda nice. Poor form, Line 6.

If it absolutely must be Line 6 compatible, try the Mission Engineering EP1-L6, specifically made to replace the EX-1.

I have this pedal for about a year now but barely used it more than a couple of times. The sensitivity of it just got insane i barely step my foot on it and it gets crazy when i step on it a little further its ok.Its really annoying when you use it as a volume pedal pedal or as a wah, you just cant rely on it onstage.Too bad because the m13 pedalboard that came with it is just awesome

Got it free....still paid too much!!

        By Qrious

Comments about Line 6 EX1 Expression Pedal:

I purchased the M13 modeler and got this pedal for free. When I pulled it out of the box, it was blatantly apparent that it was not built very well. It felt very light and flimsy. I thought, "Well, these must be the cheap freebies they're giving away. They're charging for the good ones." However, judging from the comments on this site, this is Line 6's actual expression pedal....and they actually charge money for it!! This is unbecoming of Line 6 and they should immediately remove this pedal from their product line. It's a blight on their reputation.

        fragile & over-priced

        By JF-vsZTG

Comments about Line 6 EX1 Expression Pedal:

I've owned 3 of these pedals over 4 years. Only 1 is left. the first of them shattered onstage when I went to use it - it just collapsed, with the plastic housing splintering apart. The housing broke on the 2nd one after minimal usage. I only have the 3rd one because I needed one for my Line6 delay pedal, and didn't have time to shop for an alternative. Why it's so expensive, I have no idea - it's barely worth $25 (IMHO). If Dunlop can make a metal housing Wah pedal for roughly the same amount of money, why can't Line6 provide a durable product?

        Overpriced, but it works...

Comments about Line 6 EX1 Expression Pedal:

I really don,t understand the tons of negative reviews this pedal gets. Yes, it is plastic, and I think it's a bit overpriced for what it is. But I've had two of these pedal on my board for more than 8 years, and these never failed me. They're definitely not designed to have you put all your weight on them or anything, but that could be said about a lot of pedals.I guess for what it is, it works. It's hard to fault a product for doing exactly what it's designed to do.

        Line 6 should know better

        By Pnew.wGfI

Comments about Line 6 EX1 Expression Pedal:

I use this ex1 expression pedal with a line 6 mm4. The design on this is terrible. Unfortunately, I haven't found another expression pedal that is compatible with the Line 6 modelers. I had one of these that the plastic around the pot broke. I bought another one and have tried being much more gentle with it. The shaft on the new one constantly slips out of the hook base and I need to take it apart and put it back in the groove. There is nothing to this pedal, it costs a fortune, and it keeps on having problems. I truly would not use this if there was an alternative.

DO NOT BUY!!! DO NOT EVEN USE!!!

Comments about Line 6 EX1 Expression Pedal:

This pedal is a piece of crap. I got it free with my DL4 Delay (a great pedal by the way) and thought I'd just fool around with it. Little did I know the cable that came with it would break and get stuck in my pedal board. Besides the cord the pedal itself is a joke. It's stiff and very poor quality. I love Line 6 gear but this one really missed the mark. My recomendation is do not buy or use this pedal under any circumstances. I wouldn't pay $5 for this pedal much less the outrageous price they're asking for it. Save your money or buy a pedal that's actually usable.

        Extremely low expectations for longevity.

        By Chris Sparks

Comments about Line 6 EX1 Expression Pedal:

I just got mine, and let me just say that there are certain things you pick up and you KNOW they are going to break based on the build quality. The plastic is of the poorest caliber. It's a joke how thin the plastic on the included cable is. I'd equate it to the soft flexible plastic of a cereal box toy. No joke. When I took it out of the box, it slid right off the plug. The pedal does not have tight fluid movement. It scrapes as it sweeps and it reminds me of the s***ty expression pedal on my old AX1G.For what Line 6 charges for this pedal it should've been better. For what Line 6 charges for the Pod X3 I just bought, they should've included a second pedal on the board that matches the one already there.

        High hopes weren't enough

Comments about Line 6 EX1 Expression Pedal:

So I ordered one of these to go along with my DL4 no more than like...a month or so ago. I really didn't get a chance to use it all that much, I fooled around with it and at least got to enjoy it (because it is a lot more fun to play with the pedal when you don't have to be bending down to twist knobs). But then BOOM it just stops working out of no where. It's not terrible though, I called up Line 6 and basically just gave my name and address and they're sending a new one. Although, with how easy it was to get a new one sent for free, I'm not very optimistic on the longevity of this next one. Maybe I'll just call from my other house and get a few more sent for back-up...hmm

        Cheap Plastic Toy

        By ListenToEchoes

        from Los Angeles

Comments about Line 6 EX1 Expression Pedal:

This unit is not built well. The plastic is very cheap, and my pedal is very difficult to use. Not easy to push with your foot. Unfortunately, there are no other pedals to use with the stomp boxes. For the price the unit is not worth it.
