OVERVIEW

The burly, full-sized pedal feels solid under your foot and features plenty of speed, tone, and control.

Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Footswitch isn't your average footcontroller. It's a full-on remote control that keeps you at the foot of the stage instead of tied to the front of your Line 6 amp or POD processor. It offers all the classic advantages you expect from a Line 6 foot controller, including rock-solid channel switches, a rugged wah/volume pedal and an oversized backlit display, but it's also full of surprises.

The steel footswitches give you total control over your tone. Dedicated footswitches let you change, scroll and select presets with uncompromised speed, add or remove effects in an instant, synchronize all your time-based effects with Tap Tempo, and more.

Load up to 64 presets in the 4 banks. Adding individual or simultaneous effects on top of each preset allows for on-the-fly colorization and customization of your tones. An added bonus: the well-spaced guitar footswitches are conveniently laid out so that you're not stepping on two at once (unless you want to).

Click the toe to volley back and forth between volume and wah-wah control. (Adding an expression pedal provides dedicated volume control.) Oversized and backlit, the LCD is big, bright and easy to read. It shows you everything you need to know including preset name chromatic tuner display.

Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII is compatible with and connects to your Line 6 amp or POD processors via the included locking RJ-45 cable. The FBV footswitch also features a USB jack that can be used for upgrading the firmware of Spider IV and Spider Valve MKII amplifiers.

Perfectly paired with Spider IV and Spider Valve MKII amplifiers, this FBV Shortboard footswitch provides complete, handsfree control of the looper, pitch-shifter and other on-board effects.

FEATURES
  • Total floor control of your Line 6 amp and POD
  • Reliable steel footswitches
  • Dedicated footswitches for preset bank select, bank scroll, effect select, tuner, tap tempo, and more
  • Burly, full-sized volume/wah pedal with plenty of grip
  • Oversized and bright LCD displays chromatic presets and tuner
  • RJ-45 cable included
  • Back panel: USB jack, RJ-45 jack, 1/4-inch expression pedal jack

Best controller value going. Berhinger FC1010 is cheaper, however, its a PITA to program and you need to switch the ROM chip etc if you want to use it as a true midi pedalboard, plus its not USB either while the FBV is.
With the Line6 editor you can assign any midi CC, program changet etc to ANY button on the unit. That means you've got 13 assignable foot switches plus the EXP pedal and its switch.

You can have a row set to turn effects on/off with control over if they work as a toggle, or momentary switch, value on, value off etc. You can have a row as MMC for your DAW, or you can have a row set up to switch patches, present increase/decrease, you name it.

Fantastic versatility. I don't even own a Line6 amp but really am pleased with using this with Amplitube, TH2 and others.

SImple plug in play, USB powered as well, No adapters needed like the FC300
Good solid build, metal not plastic, foot switches seem solid and the EXP pedal is really smooth
Fantastic value when compared to Roland FC300 for over $400 or the upcoming IK Stealthboard for $300, this does just as much as those for much less money

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

I've been using line 6 for about 7 years now. I started with the line 6 valve 212, and just a few months ago purchased the HD100 half stack.

When I got my valve 212, I purchased the express pedal. I thought it was amazing. The ability to change to four different channels and have a volume and wah pedal was amazing. I was totally satisfied.

After purchasing the shortboard, I now know how powerful it is to be able to control all the channels, as well as all of your effects. And the pedal is a higher quality pedal as in its sturdier and the volume pedal/wah are more precise.

My only con about this pedal is that I have no easy way to carry it. I'm still looking into finding a suitable bag.

Other then that, I'm totally satisfied with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

overall this is a great pedal. I love it and would strongly encorage any guitar player to buy it along with one of the line6 spider IV amps.
This is a great little shortboard. it has so many features, for than i care to use. As a lead singer in my band i dont really need all of these awsome features, all I really need is a clean and distortion but it has many many more. I bought it because our lead guitar player was flaking on alot of our shows so in times like that i needed to play lead guitar and sing, and this shortboard made it very easy to do so. It is a perfect size, looks great and i love the red lights for each switch. The lights really make it easy to see what presets im using on a dark stage. The only bad thing I can say about it is with the Tuner. Everything works great except when i am tuning half a step down. It gives me completly differnt notes than what I am looking for, I dont know if it is a manufacturers defect or if im doing something wrong. other than that it is great.
Great quality. It is all metal so it is very solid. I like that it has alittle bit of weight to it. I am a big guy and need something stong to hold my weight when im stomping on it. It seems lik it will be with my setup for many years to come.

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

Ok so i love this thing as much as the next person, but im 17 with a size 13 1/2 foot and well the switches are to close together. It's virtually indestructable so for the price thats a good thing, but its just an oversized remote control the way i see it. It only lets you download tones from the L6 website, it doenst add any. But definatley worth it if you have a Spider IV.

I bought this to use with my new Spider Jam--together they make a great team. With this board I can control the record function and drum/song tracks on the fly. The wha is awesome. You simply have to learn to put the board in record mode, and then the down side is you have to put it back in the regular mode to switch pedal presets.

Made with real metal--it seems tuff enough.

Flexible controller, works great with Spider Valve (the version before MKII)

      By DeWitt Seward

      from Boston, MA

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

I own a Spider Valve (the version before MKII), and I needed a way to control flang and delay wile singing. This product is able to accomplish this. The one little nit is that when you switch to a new channel, the shortboard only allows you to control these features if the channel had them enabled in the first place. This is my experience anyway. It is a small thing to overcome, but I would have preferred the ability to enable flang and delay after switching to a new channel and without having to get back to the amp first.

I just added the short board to my setup. I have a Line 6 Spider 4 120. A line 6 Relay G-30 and a Les Paul Silverburst guitar. This Footboard makes the link between amp and computer. With it comes free software for the footboard as well as a line 6 amp. Sky is the limit.

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

I use it with a spider valve 212, first run, no mk series and it works great, the boost helps nicely, the noise gate helps wonderfully, I save my presets with delay, mod, reverb on them then add remove them as i need them without changing channels, i use a clyde wah so i keep the pedal for volume. Buy this board, its light years and far more rugged than the express.

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

I've had this board for almost a year now and it allows me to use my Line6 amp to the fullest (some of the features on the amp I have are only usable with the board....) That being said it's not without flaws. Switching from volume to wah is difficult and at times completely unresponsive which is a no no for live shows. And for some reason when you first turn the amp on, with the volume pedal all the way to 0, if you hit your strings you can hear it through your amp. The buttons are small and close together. The display is also a little on the small side. Other than that it's all metal casing and buttons make it feel rugged.

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

Great quality, very durable. I use this with my Line 6 Spider Valve MkII 112 amp whitch has endless tonal possibilities. With the MkII edit program you can get, and share tones with other users online. And you have total control of your amp and it's different settings from the switch. If you have a MkII amp this thing is a must, and a blast to play with too

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

I bought this simply to have a lighter alternative to lugging the longboard, however it was not a simple plug and play.
It seemed to me that the signal is not the same and I would have had to redo all of my presets.
The biggest drawback for me is that the readout window is much smaller than the longboard, and that was the deal breaker.
Had the window of been the same size then I would have taken the time to readjust the settings, in order to have a lighter piece of equipment.
That being said, it is a well made piece of hardware, and an asset to those with better vision than this old timer.

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

I like this pedal but only because i had to have it for my Line 6 halfstack. Its really nothing special it just does what your amp alredy does except its on the floor and makes things more simple. Theres no real knock on the pedal except i'm a big guy and the switch's are to close together for me to be comfortable. I also don't like that you can only switch through user presets, I think thats kind of lame considering how many awsome factory presets that line 6 amps come with. You can always move your faveorite's to the user banks but it's still lame. I think this pedal should come included with the high grade Line 6 amps. Half stacks, Tube, Bogner, etc. But they don't soooo. This pedal does what its supposed to thats about it. Durability i can't be sure of since i havn't had it very long but it seems tough. A 2 year service plan is reccomended though if your going to be stomping this thing alot. Its not built like a Digitech RP1000 Guitar workstation. Its kind of whimpy in comparison to multi EFX processers. I only reccomend this procuct to people who really need it, if you don't need it, you could find something much better to do with your money.

          Excellent Revision To The ShortBoard

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

I was hoping that Line 6 wouldn't reduce the quality of the Shortboard with this revision (e.g. putting a plastic bottom on in like the Pod X3 Live). I'm happy to say that this pedal is just as rugged as the previous version. The switches, while receiving a bad stigma from the X3 Live, are very solid on this unit. They're attached to the unit via a steel fastener underneath. The LED's are easy to see, and spacing between switches is adequate. The LCD display, while now more smoothly integrated into the unit, is actually a bit smaller. After using the previous model, you may have to look at the screen a bit longer to see your current patch. Contrast is still good. The new amber backlight works well and matches the current amplifiers. The pedal may be the biggest physical improvement. While it looks oversized in the picture, it's about the same size as the previous Shortboard. Overall, the new shortboard is slightly smaller than the previous model, which makes the pedal look larger. The pedal has great grip and very fluid motion. It appears to be self-calibrating as well. USB connectivity for midi control and updates is a very welcome addition. Both features have worked great for me so far. This new pedal also fits fine in the current Shoartboard case/bag.Overall, an excellent update. A must-have for a Line 6 amp owner.
