I love this little amp! Talk about good things in small packages! The simple straight foward controls mean you'll spend more time playing all those songs you've been trying to get the right sound for and little or no time tweeking knobs or pushing buttons. I don't know exactly how they did it but the guys that set up the amp models and EQ did an amazing job, this amps models are fantasticly convincing, and with very little effort can make just about any guitar sound like many guitar and amp combinations. ( A very pleasant departure from most experiances with "modeling gear".)This amp has even fooled some of us that think you can only get that edgy tube break-up with a true tube amp, set it up with just enough drive to make the selected models sound creamy and clean add a little more right hand attack and you've got it!The drive of most of the models have the range to go nearly totaly clean which allows for some very pleasant variations and get me wrong, this thing can strip the paint off your house and send your neighbors running into the streets if you want it too.A little bit more preset storage would be nice the amp has 4 user assignable presets if you want more you can get the short board that will allow you to turn the effects on and off individualy and store many more settings for stage work. It's plenty loud enough and the direct out works well to a console or you can do what we've been doing if you need more reinforcment and just mike it to the system. The only thing I could do without is the sub octive thing tied to the red insane model, this amp just doesn't need a gimick like that, but, it's the only one out of 12 models I can't see a need for. All in all I'm a picky tone freak and I've never been happier with one amps ability for the price and value.

I bought this amp at a local Guitar Center to have for tossing in the car to take to my friends to jam, you know light weight and all and also because the guys working at Guitar Center are always pushing the Line 6 stuff and saying how great it is, so I finally caved and bought the amp, took it home and the mid eq knob was messed up, it had hard spots in it and wouldn't rotate right, took it back to guitar center they got me another one, took it out of the box at the store and lo and behold the treble and bass eq knobs had the same problem, my sales guys went and got a third one, took it out of the box and it was ok, took it home, and was messing with the amp and while I was adjusting the treble eq the volume died and then came back, also the bass eq had hardly any effect whatsoever on the tone. I guess if you're a kid starting out this may be an alright amp because it is pretty loud and has a a lot of effects to mess with. If you are a serious musician I'd stay away from this piece of crap. By the way my main amp is a Peavey JSX combo and it is absolutely amazing. I also have a Roland Micro cube for practice and I'd take that any day over this Line 6 stuff. Actually the more I look at all that Line 6 stuff I realize how cheap and crappy it's made. I guess if your going to buy any of it get the Vetta II, but for the money there's so much more better stuff out there.

I've had this amp for 9 months and it's louder than my friend's Marshall and Crate Halfstacks, and sounds much better. it easily keeps up with a drum-kit. I've played the spider 3 and the tone on that is much worse and harder to use. This is a great deal.
i have had this for almost a year now and i got to say this is one great amp. Everything sounds great i use the Metal alot which has a fantastic sound. I use this for band practices and gigs this does it all. The only thing i dont like is the effects. There not so good in my opinion my favorite is the reverb. The secret noise gate packs a punch. This is deffintly a great amp if you dont have a lot of moeny to spend.
I have just purchased a line 6 112 (75 watt) and it had just blown me away. When you crank up the volume the power of the metal and insane setting is just phenomanal. I had a marshall 30DFX previous to this and it lost its tone a little when you got past half way on the volume, Not the line 6 this beast just keeps its tone and continues to dish out the power. Any one looking for a good amp I highly recommend this one. IT IS AWESOME!!!!!!! GOOD PRICE TO :)
After not owning, much less needing, an amp for the past 3 or 4 years, I decided I wanted to see what was out there for combo amps at affordable prices that you could crank up good 'n loud... The one amp that followed this description was the Spider II 112. Before buying the amp, I did a ton of research, checking out sites like this one, hoping to find as many reviews, good and bad, that I could before laying out the cash... and I'm glad I did. When I first heard the tones coming out of this amp, I knew it was the best amp I'll have owned up to this point. I've played through both tube and solid state amps, and this is the only one to possess the kind of inspiring tones that'll keep you playing for a very long time. Highly versatile and well made, certainly wothy of your consideration!
I've had this amp for over a year now and I'm still amazed at what this thing can put out. I've played in a band over drums with this thing. The effects are sweet too. It's got delay, reverb, super distortion and much more. Don't hesitate BUY THIS AMP!!!! Quick...they're almost out of stock.
I just got this amp so I have only had so much time to tweak the settings, and I have an Ibanez RG120 which I would assume would only have the most basic of humbuckers in it. That said, I put on the "green" insane setting (you have two options green or red) red being the one you hear from the example, and have the drive at a little over a quarter and I get an awesome tone for metal even at low volume, and the clean sounds nice and deep. This thing is awesome in my opinion. Well worth the price paid.
I remember a very long time ago wanting this amp so bad... I worked about a thousand jobs for my Dad for this thing. I'm glad I did. This was the best decision I've ever made for my hobby! The second I first turned this on I knew this was my amp!I swear this is the best amp. I had a friend told me that these amps suck, and showed his little Marshall out the window. Line 6 really busted their butts commin' up with this because man this thing's great.I love the lights when you turn it on and the channels are AWESOME! They REALLY help, I just wish they had some more! Make sure to get an FBV Express or something to really take advantage of them. The tuner's great and accurate and if you get the Express pedal you can alternate tune too!The effects are great, and really sweet for begginer or even a pro! It's also as loud as hell! I used it with my first band and yes it DOES go over the drums! This thing is just plain great, stop readin' and buy the freaking thing already!!!
This amp is great for small to mediumish gigs, the effects are outstanding, iv'e heard a variety of music type's on this amp and they all sounded great. Very good buy, just wish it came with a footswitch.
After using this for about a year, I am pleased overall with the performance of the amp. The clean is warm & thick with the mids and bass turned up and bright with the treble turned up. The only drawbacks I have found are that the "Bluesy" channel has a tendency to get too muddy with high gain settings, and the "Crunch" setting is a bit bright for my tastes. If you are looking for a versatile amp....this one will work.
I have played for ten years and I have never had an amp as flexible and fun to play. Sure, its no tube amp, but I think the "purist" guitar players are missing the point. Let your ears be your guide. I have searched for problems with my spider II, and have found none so far. The models sound great. The controls are intuitive. And at that price, you will find nothing better. I do reccomend getting a foot switch. Go ahead and spend $1000+ on a snob tube amp if you want. I just hope that when you total up all that you have spent, that your equipment is not worth more than your talent.
