I own this amp and i find it awesome for practice. i agree with a lot of people that the clean channel isn't as good, but all the distortion channels rock! The crunch has a little too much bass even with treble all up and bass all the way down, but its awsome because if you hold the tap/delay button when you roll the delay/reverb knob, it turns on a noise filter which eliminates TONS of buzz. You can crank master and channel all the way up and get minimum buzz. Great Amp!
I first tried this amp out in guitar center looking for an amp to buy myself for christma. The effects are great except for sweep echo which I wasnt a huge fan of, The distorted amp models are good too but the clean is pretty terrible. No matter what you o the clean has a sort of reverby, semi overdriven sound to it. So if youre not gonna use the clean channel this is a decent amp. but I think if youre gonna get a practice amp I highly recommend the vox valvonatrix (if that's how you spell it)it's the best practice amp on the market right now.
This amp is very good the only bad part is it can't give you that warm overdrive like a 2 channel marshall or fender amp the fx aren't really that strong especially the reverb but id take it over any other amp for the price.
I just got this amp it is amazing. I compared to all the other practice amps in the store and it just blew everything else away. All the other paractice amps had only 1 or 2 channels but this thing has 4! And they all sound great. Not to mention the effects in other practice amps sound awfull and are one at a time. These effects sound amazing and you can use them 2 at a time. The controlls are cool too. The only reason I gave it an 8 for quality was because there is a lot of plastice pieces but other than that it seems to be built very well. If your looking for a new map the spider II series owns.
I had been searching for a portable amp for travel for a long time before I found this baby. I've tried small Crates, Peavey, Fender, and just about everything, but nothing beats the quality and price of this little Line 6. I have a Crate 212 and I like the sound of this Line 6 better than the Crate, but the Crate is louder. This amp is perfect for beginners and perfect for a studio amp or a travel amp.
I bought this amp this weekend and have been playing w/ it non stop. The sound is rich in tone. The effects are mindblowing for the price and size of the amp. I am a "beginner" guitarist, and this is a great piece of equipment for musicians just starting out!
I've had this amp for almost 2 years now and I've never had any problems with it ever. I play heavy metal, and this amp is perfect for it. I don't like the clean setting too well, but I only know 2 songs that I need clean for, so it's not much of a problem. I mostly stick with the insane setting because it's what heavy metal calls for and no other amp can deliver that kind of satisfaction. I'd like to get a band together and I'm working on it, and when I do, I will have no problem getting the crowd to hear my magic fingers do their stuff. This amp goes so loud! I can barely put it on the 2nd dot before my parents tell me to turn it down. I usually just wait until they are gone then play all day. With some reverb, the solo to Metallica's "Fade To Black" sounds so amazing. I'm a big metallica fan and this amp really helps me get those unique metallica sounds. If you're looking for a beginner amp with all your effects in one box, and the coolest distortion ever, then this amp is definitely going to please you, as well as your wallet for its low price. As the price goes up for the other Spider II amps, so does the sound and the effects. They just get better and better, so when you're ready for a bigger amp, go for the next Spider because these are the best amps on the planet.
This amp is incredibly versatile. It sounds good with pretty much any guitar, and the Insane setting is ... well, insane. The noise gate is pretty nifty, but the distortion boost lacks a certain something. I don't like the crunch setting as much as others do because it seems restrained. If only this thing had footswitch compatability!
I have been playing guitar about 3 years and I got this last year for my birthday. It is awesome. All of my older brothers friends fight over who gets to play it when they come over. The effects are great and so are all the channels. It is perfect for practicing and jamming with friends. The only thing is that you can't hear it over drums. It is very loud, but not that loud. This is great for begginers or anyone really. I STRONGLY recommend this if you aren't looking for something to be gigging with. I am upgrading to the Marshall MG250DFX amp soon but I will still use this thing.
This amp is such a great value for theis thing. I have only been playing guitair for around 2-3 years but this thing almost tops my half-stack. If you want a grat amp at a good value you gotta get this :-) Keep rockin'
Whoa was the first thing I said after tweaking the settings on this bad mother... this thing is AMAZINGLY versatile. From the cleanest acoustic sound to the crunchiest 70's rock to the most insane metal. This amp does it all. A perfect practice amp for my Les Paul. GREAT DEAL here too. This thing can go LOUD when you need it as well.
ok, first off I am not the greatest guitar player. I have been playing since Christmas 2004, but I am decent. The amp is amazing. I have an ibanez rg370dx, I had a peavey transtube 110efx and it was a 40 watt and this is about as loud, half the price and it sounds better... Overall I would say this amp was made for metal/rock... I play 80's-now metal and classic rock. If you like emo this also works for that I can play Reminissions by Avenged Sevenfold sounds just like the song.
I just got this amp about a month ago and I have loved every minute of it. Awesome effects, awesome distortion, and a great sound for such a small amp.
I've owned this amp for a few months and it's been the best practice amp i've ever played on. I really like to crank my amps and get optimal punch and doing so i usually blow amps. this sucker takes a hit and asks for more and with four channels 7 effects plus programing each channel the way you want it. it's great and if you go onto line6's website they have a huge lists of settings for certain songs from rolling stones to metallica and everything in between. it's been well worth the bread i spent on it.
I purchased this amp when i bought my Epiphone Les Paul Standard. It's a great practice amp, small enough to fit in a cramped apartment and loud enough to rock the place out. I'd say i'm a novice, I've been playing for well over a year. I've been lovin it ever since i got it. The insane setting is too much fun. You will like it, guaranteed.
I got this amp about 2 weeks ago and I love it. The distortion on it is great and you get to pick from how much you want and what channel. The best feature about this amp are all the effects that are built in. The clean channel is nothing amazing but overall I love this amp and think its one of the best amps for the price.
I recently purchesed a Line 6 Spider II 15. I was kind of short on cash and was looking for something with a little bit of attitude. This amp has all the attitude one needs. Packs alot of power into a little box and has great effects on top of it all. Great little amp for the money.
This amp is so sweet, the insane channel is just, undescribable, it sounds like avenged sevenfold, the metal and crunch channels are perfect for like, fast punk, and the clean channel is mediocre at best, the effects are cool but im not into the whole effects thing, so other than that this amp is awesome, it gets really loud and the quality is great, I'd reccomend this amp to just about anyone, except for those poser emo kids, hahaha, really good for finger tapping harmonized guitar solos.
This is a great amp for the price and size, and I've only played it for about an hour, i can't get enough of it!
This amp is great for the living room. Play it soft when people are home, and crank it up when mom and dad are gone. You shouldn't get tired with the features for a while, the channels can pump out some god sound and you can nail tones. I'm getting somewhat tired of the channels though, so I'm looking at a Korg AX1500G modeler. It's got great features and is cheap($200). Overall fun amp.
