Works perfectly for what I wanted. As a guitarist for a working band, I need to switch quickly between electric and acoustic, depending on the the song the band leader calls out. With this unit, I can simply set down my electric, pick up my acoustic, and hit a switch. No clumsy unplugging and re-plugging of cords. Only con is there isn't an adapter jack (I hate using 9-volts...nothing worse than a battery dying in the middle of a set), but since the battery only operates the LED lights, it should last for a long time, and actually doesn't change anything soundwise if it does weaken. Worth every dollar for a working musician!

Any product that fails after a few months is junk
I owned this pedal for a bout 4 months and used it in my riga regularly. There was a slight bleed of sound, but it was not enough when playing at club volume for me to notice. Iwas happy with it while it worked. One day, one side just quit. This pedal is made in China...I suspect mass production and cheap parts are the reason it failed.

I have learned this lessen before about quality over price, no more will I buy the cheapest item. This time I'm going with Lehle....
It was good for a while but ultimately failed
Well even if it was a good "value" becuase of the price, because it failed, the value is low

Love the simple design and the fact that you don't necessarily have to use a 9v battery for it to work. It does exactly what I'd hoped it would do.

Having fun with it; such as a Fender Mustang amp for clean and then kick in a Vox VT80+ on top of it for an interesting lead boost using both at the same time. Maybe next week set both of them to emulate Marshalls for a small wall of sound.

Comments about Live Wire ABY1 Guitar Footswitch:

Bought this as a Christmas gift to myself.

I am very pleased with it. It works exactly as it should with no hiccups or problems. The build quality is excellent.

The sound is very transparent and I there is (to my ears) no tonal coloration. I play one guitar into two amps and both amps sound exactly as if there was no switching box in the circuit. There is no bleed when switching from one amp to the other.

Players who have commented negatively on this product must have gotten a defective unit, because mine works perfectly.

          An incredible value!!

DANGER: can blow up your amp! Just got the ABY1 Guitar Footswitch plugged in my two amps and keyboard. Immediate feed back and hum. When using the switch very loud popping sounds would happen when switch was engaged. With- in seconds of hooking the switch up one of my amps started to howl and screech and then just went dead. The ABY1 Guitar Footswitch is an amp killer, buyer beware….! Pure junk!

Comments about Live Wire ABY1 Guitar Footswitch:

Works as described. I run two guitars into it then out to my pedals and amp. It works wonderfully with no feedback or reduction in tone or volume. Clean/quiet switching as well. I use an AC adapter and thus far have not used a battery. Simple to connect and start using. It arrived in little or no time after ordering with Standard Delivery. Thanks Musician's Friend!

i needed to replace a very reliable aby box that i had used for years that finally gave up the ghost after doing a little homework i settled on the aby1 i especially like the indicator light telling you which channel is in use as my previous one did not have this feature so i was always shooting blind i use it in my church worship services to switch between acoustic and electric guitars and have had zero problems with it to date

Comments about Live Wire ABY1 Guitar Footswitch:

I didn't know much about impedance levels before purchasing this. Apparently when trying to hook up my bass and synth to my amp using this pedal, the difference in impedance between the two instruments is a problem when both A and B inputs are selected together. Seperately they were fine. But trying to allow both signals to flow, my bass signal was cut to almost nothing. I've used a DI to even them out, but when selecting only A or B the signals are way out of wack. Not what I was hoping for from this pedal. I would not recommend this for the use I had in mind. Maybe if both instruments have equal impedance it would work fine.

This is a very easy to use pedal. It has true bypass. It can handle 1 guitar and 2 amps or 2 guitars and 1 amp. I use it to switch guitars in and out of the same amp and it works very well.
