Surprisingly powerful yet tiny amp head.

The F1 is Markbass' lightest and smallest bass amp head to date. At 500W the F1 bass amp boasts an unbelievable power-to-weight ratio of more than 100W per pound. Its digital power amp gives the Markbass F1 bass amp head super-fast response and a crisp, clear, full sound that will convey every detail of your playing, instantly.

The F1 amp head's 1/4" input jack works with both active and passive basses and allows you to EQ your sound with Low, Mid Low, High Low, and High control knobs, as well as Markbass' exclusive VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) and VPF (Variable Pre-shape Filter) filters, with separate Gain and Master volume controls.

The rear panel has a balanced XLR out, Neutrik Speakon Combo jacks which work with either Speakon or 1/4" speaker cables, a tuner out, as well as Effect Send and Return 1/4" jacks to ensure you don't lose your main signal if a piece of your effects chain dies. There is also a ground lift switch to help eliminate hum. Despite being lightweight, the Markbass F1 bass amp head is made with a rigid 2mm thick aluminum chassis to ensure your investment can handle the rigors of the road.

Comments about Markbass F1 500W Bass Amp Head:

i've been an ampeg man for years & i've never had a problem with their gear. before my purchase, i'd been looking into gear that is more modern & lighter weight. markbass gear is ridiculously light compared to most other gear i've used. it sounds great, too. highly recommended for those who want a great sound, a lighter load & a low price.

Comments about Markbass F1 500W Bass Amp Head:

I'm a bassplayer with 23 years of road and studio experience, and I've owned almost every Top end Peavey Bass amp ever made. And altough this is hard to admit, This is hands down the best sounding bass head I've ever owned. I went from a Bi-amped 1000 watt peavey kilobass run in stereo to this Markbass head and a 4 10 cab and my sound actually improved!! It is the clearest sounding, most versatile, and easiest to use bass head I've ever seen.

Love it!

Comments about Markbass F1 500W Bass Amp Head:

I own the F1 and Little Mark II by Markbass and love both of them. The F1 has the same amount of power and headroom as the LM II, it's just smaller. If you're tired of lugging around your rack mount amps in heavy rack cases then the F1 is the head for you. I pair this head with a 4x10, 4ohm cab and it just kills! Order one of these.......NOW!

astonishing and convenient

Comments about Markbass F1 500W Bass Amp Head:

we bass players usually complain about "portabiliy" or "little power in watts" as in the past these were not found together in one package. BUT during last 10 years this is history.markbass among other firms created full bass head lines weighing no mor than 2-3 kilos , size of a car stereo and watts from 250-300 to 500-800.this F1 markbas had is one of the best heads that provide both advantages - great portability , sound and wattage.i play rock and blues, use jb 75 vintage and precision 57 vintage plus an SG reissue through an AGUILAR GS112 + F1 MARKBASS HEADS. my usuall rig is AG500 AGUILAR + GS 112 but never had teh alternative of a small package with adequate power for small this is a reallity.will all due respect to the US firms, most of them are expensive and the inexpensive ones are NOT MADE IN USA!!!mark bass is med priced and MADE IN ITALY (another plus)..i hope many other companies to follow this trend for the working bassist!!great purchase

Big sound, little package!

Comments about Markbass F1 500W Bass Amp Head:

The Mark Bass F1 is a little monster! Great tone that is easily customizable using the VLE and VPF. Whether crafting a buttery line on my Jazz using flats, or riffing through a rock anthem on my TBird using Rotos, I am able to easily dial in my tone. Sound crews LOVE the balanced XLR output that lets THEM control the house sound. So small, I carry it in the padded laptop pouch in my backpack, yet 500 Watts can fill almost any club!

Great little head!

Comments about Markbass F1 500W Bass Amp Head:

I bought the Markbass F1 to replace some of my old, heavy gear, and am blown away by its size to power ratio and clear sound. I use a Raven Labs mixer to send a Hofner copy bass, a mid' 70s Fender Precision (with a an added jazz pickup) and a Roland AX7 synth (set up as midi bass) through a Tone Works tube pre-amp into the F1. The F1 powers two Euphonic Audio speakers, one CXL112 and one NL210 and the sound is huge. I'm looking to add the Markbass 151HP 15"bass speaker to the sound when they come in. Try out the Markbass stuff and you won't be disappointed!!
