OVERVIEW

Winner of the Best Head Award 2 years in a row.

The Markbass Little Mark II is a stunning bass amp head that combines great sound, compact size, and light weight. The Little Mark II is Markbass' biggest seller and it's the flagship amp of the Markbass line. Its small size makes the Little Mark II easy to transport, yet with a 4-band EQ, VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) and VPF (Variable Pre-shape Filter), its tone is nothing short of professional. The I/O includes an input that can handle both passive and active basses and an extra XLR balanced input for double bass pickups. Its Neutrik Speakon Combo out jacks work with 1/4" or Speakon speaker cables. A tuner out jack sends unbalanced signals to a tuner, amp, or recording equipment. Send and return effect jacks maintain your main signal even if something dies in your effects chain. For 2 years in a row, Little Mark II has been voted Best Bass Head by the readers of Bass Player Magazine. It also placed 3rd in poll's Best Value category.

I love this amp. It has a wonderful, fat, vintage style tone that is clear and powerful. I've tried it with many differnt basses & it brings out the flavor of each different bass. A Vintage P bass with Flatwound strings & it sounds like the classic Motown sound. Switch to a jazz bass with Round wounds & it's now a 70's Funk machine with snappy high end. I use mine with 2 cabinets, One is a 4x10, the other is a 2x10. To get the full 500 watts the ohms have to be correct, otherwise the power is halved. With 1 cabinet my guitar player was overpowering me. When I added the second cabinet however, It has power to spare. I highly recommend it. Have not used my GK since I bought this.

Sounded great at my house the minute I took it out on a gig and the guitar player started to play it got swallowed up. This thing might be cool for a jazz group or a band that has a few small combo guitar amps on stage but for a loud rock band save your money. My lowdown 300 blows this thing away.

This Kicks Butt

By Larry Wiseman

from South Florida

I use this amp for two different style bands. One is a middle of the road rock/country/bluegrass/alt, 5 piece band. For this band I use a single eminence delta pro 12 - 8ohm cab. With this cab the amp puts out 300 watts. Sounds great!! The other band is a hard rock power trio. I use a peavey 4-10 4ohm cab and the Markbass puts out 500 watts and kicks it! The Markbass sounds stonger than my Peavey Firebass 700 and it fits in my gig bag. This little amp is well worth the money. I love it!!

Little Wonderful Box that dreams are made of

By Joel Bence

This lightweight, high powered head will make you think twice about the size and weight of your rig! I run an Epifani UL-410 (series 1 B&C Drivers) with this lightweight head for a rig that weighs in at around 65 lbs total! But man the tone is things dreams are made of. This head and cab combination plays well with both my Highway 1 Precision and Jazz bass, but sounds best with the Jazz. I have had the pleasure of trying out multiple cabs with this head and have found it sounds great with everything! The only thing missing is a tuner mute switch. My Soundman loves the clean DI. I've even recorded with it. World class head for the money.

WOW

By Tony TTM

I just recently picked this amp up and I'm in love. I love the size of it since I have to take this not only to gigs but back and forth between two different band practices. I pair this bad boy with a sans amp and the sound I get blows other high end amps such as ampeg gk and swr out of the water. I tune as low as drop a in one of the bands and the sound cuts through amazingly. For the price this head is a no brainer. Try this side by side next to an ampeg and you will not only save money but will have a better sounding and a better quality amp.

THE LAST AMP YOU WILL EVER NEED

By Thunderstruck

from Cleveland

After seeing some other players with this amp and trying it out a few times, I finally bought one. My 70's SVT will finally get the retirement it deserves. This thing is killer. Gigged twice over the weekend the day after I bought it and was very impressed. One thing to watch though is back off the gain a little and once you have your EQ controls set dont mess with them during a show. The DI has a very hot output and cranking up on the EQ settings will push the sound board into distortion. Both guitarists in my band use marshall stacks and I was able to keep up with them with the master volume on about 3!

Pure, loud tone

By Julie-yoZ8Q

from Atlanta, GA

I bought this after having my GK 700RB in and out of the shop many times. I had heard wonderful things about the Little Mark II and have not been disappointed. It gives beautiful, clear booming tone. After the first practice I used it, the others in the band were still talking about this little thing for days. It definitely has power. Another plus is how lightweight it is, but if you want to rack mount it, you'll need to buy the rack ears. The LMII is an eye-catching little head and I'm always getting asked about it at shows. I would definitely recommend this 100%.

Markbass Little Mark 2

By Brian Johnson-GbRGL

from Stratford, Conn

I bought this amp a couple of weeks ago and I have to say, after almost 31 years of gigging , I've finally found an amp that has the perfect sound. And it only weighs around 6 lbs. ! If you're a serious bass player, you have to go out and get this amp and save your back ! By the way, I use this amp with a custom EV 12 inch top and an Ampeg 4-10 VLH bottom. Along with my Musicman Stingray Bass, the sound is incredible. As a matter of fact, I'm so happy with this great sounding featherweight head, that I plan on purchasing one of the Markbass cabinets.Great Job Markbass !

Buy one......now!!

By Bassman

Bought one of these back in September 07. I use it for both electric and upright bass (dont have to readjust EQ using both basses). I love it! The tone, EQ, size, especially the weight. My only suggestion would be to do what I did...... have a custom hard case made for it or you can rack mount it using the MB rack ears. I love this amp!!

MarkBass Little Mark II

By Spoonman5000

from Columbus, KS

I needed a new head bad. I bought a little markII and pared it up with the peavy tvx 4X10 and gallien krueger neo 2x12 and could not be more pleased. There arent a whole lot of features extra features on the amp but it honestly doesnt need anything else. Its raw power in a small package. I turn the amp and my bass to half mass volume and it will shake the windows. Amazing performance and a great modern touch to your bass rig.
