OVERVIEW

Big bass sound for bassists on the go.

Part of Mark Bass' New York Series of bass speaker cabinets, this little powerhouse is the perfect extension for either the Mini CMD 151P combo or the CMD 151P Jeff Berlin combo. It's also a great lightweight option for combining with any 500W Markbass amp.

This Markbass New York speaker series is named after the world's most famous city, where bassists often lug their rigs by subway or taxi to get to gigs. Because of this issue, Markbass set out to create a combo amp that had the power, but not the bulkiness of a regular bass combo. The end result speaks for itself. The sound of this bass speaker cabinet is smooth and warm, with sweet full range and a deep tone that extends down to 40Hz.

The Markbass New York 151 features one 15" speaker and a piezo tweeter with 400W of power handling.

Great sounding and compact.

Comments about Markbass New York 151 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

If you're looking for a lightweight and compact bass cabinet that can really deliver low-end, then this is the one. It is a little different shaped than most cabinets because it is deeper than it is wide or tall, kind of like a bass drum. Its so compact that it might get mistaken for a 12. This cabinet is great for low to medium volume gigs. The only short-comings I've noticed is that it bottoms out on the low-B string if you play a busy line that low in loud situations. This little powerhouse is very light for a 15 weighing in at 37 lbs. So if you have any injuries that limit how much you can lift, or drive a vehicle that has limited space then I recommend this cabinet.

Comments about Markbass New York 151 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

Great in a variety of venues, I've used this cabinet in large and small clubs and also outside with surprising success. I always thought you had to use front-loaded cabs outside, but this cabinet proved that wrong! Ultra compact and light with a full sound. Does indeed get mistaken for a 12, but the bottom on this cab is fab. I'd prefer a real horn, but if you dial this piezo back it adds just a touch of clarity and that is enough. If you're looking for screaming highs, look elsewhere or upgrade the piezo. I just cut it way back and let the speaker do the talking! One of the best cabs I've ever owned and I prefer this over the NY 112 and the 104HF or Traveler 15 or traveler 102 which I've also owned in the past. I'm powering with a Markbass Little Mark 800 and a Sansamp RBI. Great tone variety and this cab voices them all with ease.

Comments about Markbass New York 151 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I use this cab with a Little Markbass 800w Tube amp. It takes what I give it whether 4 or 5 string. Best for medium size gig. I couple it with a Randy Jackson NY 151 for larger gigs. Imagine carrying two 15" cabs, 37-lbs each. Amazing! The cab is very tone responsive and clear. If you want dirt...buy a dirt pedal.

Comments about Markbass New York 151 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

Mark Bass is not made it on Italy anymore they are using cardboard now that make the cabinet heavier 10 pounds more than the description , its a B&C speaker but no the same they used before , the only reason I'm keeping it is because MF gave me a really good deal on it plus 36 months to pay for it , and it sound good though
