Comments about Markbass Standard 104HF Front-Ported Neo 4x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

Awesome bass cab. Crisp, tight lows, clear, fidelic highs, clear voice from top to bottom. I get the punch, clarity and volume I want in one box. I drive my cab with the Little Mark 800 tube head and it is everything you could want. I have used every conceivable rig you can imagine in my 50 years of playing bass and I just love this set up, great sound, light weight, tons of fire power in a relatively small cabinet.

Comments about Markbass Standard 104HF Front-Ported Neo 4x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

Quite good cab but with ports top and bottom not good for funk/slap due bottom end tending towards woofy.

      I have both 104HF and Golight 4x10, both 8ohm.

For me the variety of sounds from the Golight wins hands down for both clarity and provides more punch.

Try both as the 104HF does pump out the volume, unfortunately it is very woofy sound wise and you'll have to try out various bass guitars with it. Suited more to rock players methinks.

Comments about Markbass Standard 104HF Front-Ported Neo 4x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I bought this cab a few months ago as an upgrade from ye olde GK 410RBH, that beast of a thing. I made the switch to Markbass heads a couple years prior to purchasing this cab, and I felt having a matching cab would take full advantage of the head and give me that Markbass sound I love, and that's exactly what it did.

My rehearsal space is unfortunately a big hollow wooden stage that just loves to eat up my bass frequencies and make my sound a bowl of split pea soup, but coupled with a Great Gramma isolation riser, this rig is more precise and punchy than the MB+GK combination, retaining full but tight lows and audible clarity throughout the range of my MM Big Al.

This cab is also extremelyyyy easy to move around. The GK 410RBH is straight up heavy at 92 lbs, and while the 66 lb 104HF still would seem a little hard to get one's hands around, the placement of the handles and the weight distribution makes that 26 lb difference seem like 50 lb. The design even makes it easier to carry than my 40 lb GK Neo 210!

I recommend this cab, or any 4x10 really, for drum-equipped rehearsals and performances. If you're looking for a practice cab, this would be a beastly machine, but beware of it's power and volume. This cab shines alongside other instruments, but protrudes awkwardly as a home practice amp. For novice bass players, for the time being, buy a smaller, quieter cab. The 104HF looks like a seriously nice piece of equipment, and that's because it is one, but go the more practical route first and then come back here when you've got a drummer buddy to play with.

It's got the right features and it's got the right sound. I highly recommend this cab if you're looking for an easy-to-manage, solid-sounding 4x10, especially if you've already got a Markbass head.

              Awesome Cab

Comments about Markbass Standard 104HF Front-Ported Neo 4x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I bought the markbass 800w head and the MarkBass 1x15 about a year ago, and used a GK 4x10 to fill out the stack. I bought this more for aesthetics, but when I got it and plugged it in, I was totally surprised at the sound. It was so much louder I had to turn down the volume on the head. But more important, the sound had so much more clarity. I tour with a christian band, and I always have guys asking why I dont use Ampeg and GK... until they hear it. The front ports are awesome and directional, when you stand directly in front of it, you WILL hear it above everything else on a noisy stage. The ONLY problem is the list price. I had to wait until MusiciansFriend had a sale to buy it, and it was worth it then. Buy this as a stand-alone, or as part of an amazing stack, you wont be disapointed.

              Sweet spot

Comments about Markbass Standard 104HF Front-Ported Neo 4x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I own the MBCMD102P. I use it for 95% of my performance/practice, and I recommend it highly! I auditioned MB2x10,1x15&4x10s to see which is best(IMO)for the few times that I play largish outdoor stages. All three are capable ext cabs and allow the MB Combo III head to really breathe...Fire! I preferred the sound of matched drivers. The 2x10, IMO, is the best ext PORTABLE cab to add if you already own a combo. But if you're wanting a 4x10 solo cab or adding to a rig, the 104HF responds intensely even with very moderate levels of power input. And there's no hiding any careless bass skills with MBs: they are extremely accurate! Horn control on side is great. I won't attempt to justify buying this cab for only 5% of my use instead of the ext 2x10. But now that I have it, I like it too much to switch! If you play with a loud band and/or outside even with PA support, one 104HF and the quality head of your choosing will be plenty nice. I would probably get the 4ohm in this case. I also prefer the front ported sound (my CMD102P is f.ported). Cons? Nits: The MB plastic logo on all their grills is too splashy-large. (The yellow driver cones are enough distinction.) And at this quality/price-point, their cab covers should be included, IMO. Carpet cover has pos/negs. Pos: Looks great, doesn't scrape easily. Neg: Pet hair, smoke, if exposed, will stick.

              Amazing bass cabinet!

Comments about Markbass Standard 104HF Front-Ported Neo 4x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I recently purchased a Markbass TA503 bass amp head and the Markbass Standard 104HF (4 ohm) cabinet. I am 100% pleased with my new amp setup. When I was searching for a new bass cabinet, I had several things that I was looking for. I wanted a 4x10" cab that was 4 ohms, light-weight, not too expensive, made by a reliable company, and had a great sound above all else. I looked at MANY different bass cabinets, and the Markbass 104HF is literally the only one I found that met all of that criteria. This cabinet really does sound amazing. With my new Markbass TA503 amp head, I'm able to make this cabinet produce a great low-end sound while still maintaining incredible clarity in the mids and highs. I'm a finger-style player, which fits this cabinet perfectly. But this cabinet has such a wide tonal range, you can dial in almost any sound you want from it.It's hard to believe that this cabinet can sound so good and be so light-weight. It's only 65 pounds, which is almost half the weight of my previous cabinet, and this one even sounds better. It's such a relief to finally have a bass cabinet I can transport with ease. It's also great that you can get this cabinet in either an 8 ohm or 4 ohm version. I bought the 4 ohm cabinet so that I can get the max output of my amp head. Another small feature I like about this cabinet is that the 1" horn control is on the side instead of the back of the cab.The only reason I gave this cabinet a 4.5 in "features" is because it does not come with castors on bottom. I had to go buy some and put them on myself. Some people may not want castors on this cabinet, especially since it's so light to begin with. But I like having them on there, because I have a lot of floor area that I have to carry my amp across every week.

Comments about Markbass Standard 104HF Front-Ported Neo 4x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I had been playing through SWR cabinets for over ten years. I switched to the Markbass 4x10 because it is the closest thing to sounding as good as the goliath but weighing only 65 pounds. Although it was a bit pricey, I would recommend this cabinet o anyone using 4x10. I am thinking of adding a Markbass 15 under it and possible getting the 3x10 combo for smaller venues. With that I can add this cabinet and have the world's only 7x10. HA!
