I have always been clean Bass player. I have never liked any of the envelope filters, auto wha ect. The current gig is going to start playing some 80s dance and decided to look around and see what was out there. I saw a video demo on you tube made by a german guy. He used a drum loop and played with it to show tracking ect. Great demo. I went to G.C. and it is all that was promised. Way better than any GK type rig I have ever used! Tracks pretty darn good. And I could still groove with it. Really impressed! Can't wait to gig with it..

great value for the money, pretty damn close to a real analog feel, and way more stage freindly. You can customize sounds and load your favorite presets, a lot of bang for yer buck. The EXH bass synth is also cool, but it only does a coupla things well, this thing is a workhorse.
this little guy is terrific, way better sound quality & way more versatile than anything else in it's price range. I can get really deep, fat 70's bass synth sounds, as well as trebly-er lead stuff. I saw that some of the other reviewers weren't happy with all the presets-that's why it has a USB port and software to customize your sounds, guys!
errything Mark Bass is built like a tank, pedal is all metal.
some day I'll be able to afford a Moog Taurus, in the mean time, this price is a pitance for what this pedal does.

Overall, this pedal has some cool sounds & had a great time bugging out with it on the gig. There are a couple of things I don't like but I think there are a couple of really cool sounds that I'll get to use so the pedal is a keeper for me.
Not hard to use, but there is a feature that would make the pedal easier to use...
Like a switch that allows you to scroll up & down through the settings. For example the way it is now if you're on synth 2 and you want to get to synth 1 you have to scroll forward through the settings to get back to synth 1. Fortunately there are not too many presets to scroll through.
The pedal seems to be pretty sturdy.
It's a bit pricey like so many other things today but...

O.K. Tracking is great, way better than any other synth bass stompboxes like the Boss. Pretty cool synth tones, however ... the best, most classic synth tone is tone #3 and unfortunately, that tone removes most of the low end of your bass. It's a great tone, but it bumps your bass up an octave and you no longer feel that low end push that you normally feel from your bass. I bought this and used it a few times with my band, but after a few gigs, I stopped using it simply because, while it sounds good, it was ruining my sonic place in the band because I was no longer holding down the low end registers. Again, great tone, but you will be more in the register of a guitar if you use this pedal. You end up fighting with the guitar frequencies and you lose your place at the bottom of the frequency range.

I own the Boss SYB-5 bass synth pedal, but it doesn't have tones quite as "usable" as I was looking for. Crazy, good, but not something you could use for funk, more just psychedelic. This pedal however, tracks even faster (no delay!) and both the octave and synth effects are totally awesome. I haven't started tweaking it yet (you have to hook it up to a computer via USB to change detailed settings), but with the 12 presets for each side (synth/octaver) and the simple controls, I was able to get that ultra-fat 70's analog synth bass sound I was looking for!Side note: this sounded great with guitar as well, and I cannot say that for the Boss pedal. Buy it if you've got the dough, save up for it if you don't.

I was looking to get a bass synth pedal so I could emulate some classic 70's bass sounds. It was kind of obvious then that I would have to pick an analog pedal, but when I looked into it the analog pedals just weren't "stage friendly" because you could never create presets (you always had to adjust slider / knobs by hand). This pedal was the perfect "meet-half-way" pedal. This pedal SOUNDS GREAT, and with the included software you can tweak the pedal to make ANY sound you can imagine. It is also stage friendly because you can load all your presets into the pedal and scroll through them with the foot switch. The pedal also has a killer octaver pedal that sounds better than any other octaver I've heard. Ultimately, killer sounds from TWO pedals that are both totally tweakable and easily scrolled through while playing live. For that I'll pay the extra money.
