OVERVIEW

The Markbass TA503 has a premium tube preamp that gives this bass amp head the advantage of tube warmth and analog clarity simultaneously. The TA503 bass head boasts a flexible EQ with 4-band semi-parametric tone control and Markbass' signature VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) and VPF (Variable Pre-shape Filter) filters.

Markbass gave the TA503 bass amplifier a Pre EQ/Post EQ switch to determine whether the output signal is affected by the EQ settings or not, as well as Send and Return Effect I/O to insure your main signal continues even if something along your effect chain breaks or runs out of batteries. An optional footswitch provides mute-to-tune and EQ bypass control.

This amp is amazing!!!

Comments about Markbass TA503 500W Bass Amp Head:

I recently purchased this amp head, and I am 100% pleased with it. This amp sounds incredible, and it has a very wide tonal range. You can really dial in almost any sound you want. The dials are much more responsive than most other amps I've played on.I've been looking for an amp that fits the sound I want, and I finally found it with the TA503. I'm able to dial in a very warm, deep sound, and still maintain a lot of clarity in the mids and highs.Markbass has really been making a great name for themselves, and they continue to show why with products like this one. I can't believe that an amp head this light can sound this good. It comes with the rack ears, so I was able to mount the amp in my rack case. This amp head also looks and feels to be made very sturdy and reliable. It doesn't feel or look cheap at all.I bought the Markbass 104HF 4x10" cabinet to go with this amp head, and it's basically a match made in heaven. The only reason I gave this amp a 4.5 in "features" is because it doesn't have a mute switch on the head itself. I had to buy the foot pedal made for the TA503, which allows you to mute the amp and/or bypass the EQ.

this is what a tube head sounds like

By

Comments about Markbass TA503 500W Bass Amp Head:

I got to play one of these at an open jam and it was an AMAZING rig it was paired with a 4x10 and 1x15. The controls were a bit different to understand at first Because im used to Ampeg gear but once I got that I had to work with the tubes to EQ this bad boy it was easy. So in short this a tone monster of an amp not much power but not ment to sound like a 1000 watt amp it dosent throw hard but if you buy one of these amps you already know to mic it and run thru the PA .

Comments about Markbass TA503 500W Bass Amp Head:

Well I bought this amp head like a week ago. I was surprised by the weight of the head itself it wasn't that heavy for what it looks like. But besides that this head produces such a rich and punchy sound that I have only heard on recordings of music. Never live! But the head is Amazing. It has a ton of features that is a must head for any bass player. One of the best things I have bought for my bass with out a doubt.

Best sounding if it's category

By

from Cary, NC

Comments about Markbass TA503 500W Bass Amp Head:

Very warm sound and very punchy, very natural and liquid mids, highs are really high end and lows deliver. I love the 4 band semi parametric EQ, and the VLE. MarkBass are the most funky amp I've ever tried. I love the fact that the mids are so nice that you can cut the highs and enjoy this warm old school sound without ever sounding muddy. It's very powerful and only 8 pounds. Good work. Prefer this ofer any GK or Eden.
