Marshall

The basis for a great stage rig.

The Marshall 1960X consists of 4 separate birch ply enclosures, each loaded with a Celestion G12M Greenback 12" speaker and has a 100W power handling rating. Tonally this speaker cabinet falls between the 1960A's brightness and the 1960TV's warmth. Greenback G12M speakers have a very distinctive sound with a fast, snappy response that adds detail and dynamics to both clean and distorted playing. The 1960X Extension Cabinet uses the early '70s LC checkered grille cloth and a less-textured vinyl covering. If used as a half stack with a 100W head, a power brake is recommended.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

Features

  • 4 x 12" Celestion Greenback G12M speakers
  • 100W handling
  • Checkered grille cloth
  • Straight or Angled front

Ive had this amp for the last 4 years and this amp is the complete package ive played everywhere with this sounds great when you really get to play it loud. I plugged it into my fender deluxe reverb amp head and holy cow it sounds amazing. A big muff distortion pedal sounds really good with this cabinet too. Very full and the sound projects to the audience.

Igot one of these in 1979 and I still have it. I have kept it in an anvil case at all times while not in use in clubs  or on the road. The original speakers are still in it and sound great! I use a 1979 100w super lead with master volume and separate pre-amp controll and it is the best amp that I've heard in my life. I am 52 yrs old and have played in studio, concert and clubs for over 25 yrs.

You can't go wrong with a marshall.  The 1960 ax cabinet is perfect for those players that are looking for more of a classic sound.  I've had mine a couple years and haven't had a single problem.  It great for gigging.  Although it may be a little pricier, its worth it.  A professional cab is not cheap.  It's fun to haul this cab on stage and blow away everyone sound.  Many people have commented on the cool retro look the cab has.  The Greenback are wel worth it.  Don't settle for anything less.  Marshall is the way to go.

I just picked up a Marshall 1960 BX model which is the straight cab version. I have had the regular 1960 4x12 cab and the BX knocks it out of the park. It comes with with the G12 greenback speakers that are killer and give u that classic tone. Overall this is the best sounding cab Marshall makes.
