This is the only way to play! It's a little heavy, but that why you've got casters and roadies. This cab was made to rock with Marshall heads like my DSL100, the go to rock amp. They match perfectly! The 1960A is just a little brighter than it brother the 1960B and if you can afford to get them both, you won't regret it. I've read where people say "buy them used". I think that crazy, you never know what the last guy did with a used one and I've never seen one that was that much cheaper than a new one to make it worth while. Save your pennies boys it's worth it!

There are far better cabs out there for less money. If you have to have the Marshall name on the front, I guess this will do. The way to buy the 1960a and 1960b is USED. I've had a few of these and while good, see my comment about there being better cabs for the money.
It's a cab. Speakers and an input jack.
Could be better for the price. Plastic corners, plastic handles, super tiny internal wiring.
For $100 or so less, you can buy a Splawn which is constructed light years better (no particleboard backing!) and the wiring is soldered. All steel hardware! For an even better value, look at WhiteBox, Avatar.

The Randall XL series cabs are nicely made to!!

Comments about Marshall 300W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

This is my first large cabinet, I've owned smaller cabinets in the past and decided to upgrade. I'm glad I did. I paired it up with a Marshall 100w valvestate head, and can take it up to full volume, and still have great tone. Overall it's been a great cabinet. Looks great too.

Comments about Marshall 300W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

I purchased the 1960A from my local music store and wow. When I tried it out I connected it to a DSL 40C. Even at the 20 watt setting this cab is loud, but what a sound. When I got it home I paired it with my TSL601. This is the Marshall tone I have been looking for. I can't use it in many of the small clubs I play but, the outdoor events will now be better than ever. I was afraid of the brittle sound many described in their reviews, I did not experience that at all. The crunch and distortion is pure Marshall tone and the clean tone is fantastic. If you are looking for that extra punch/tone that your combo isn't giving you, try one of these out. My next test is to use only 1/2 of the cabinet to tame it down for smaller clubs.

        Great sound and great look.

        1960 Marshall Cabs

Comments about Marshall 300W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

I've owned about a dozen or so Marshall 1960 cabs over the years but the newest ones sound amazing. I use 2 slant fronts (A) on top of 2 straight fronts (B) on stage powered by the Marshall EL34 100/100 monobloc power amp and I pre-amp that with a Marshall JVM-410H head.

I put my stereo effects in line with the inputs to the EL34 monoblocs and I set up one full stack on either side of the stage for separation. The sound is unlike anything I've ever used before.

The only knock is that the Tolex covering tears very easily, don't bump it against anything sharp or you'll cut it. I use the Marshall cab covers whenever I move them to keep from ruining the finish.

I practice with one full stack in the studio and if kept to reasonable levels will not overpower the rest of the band. But if you get into a volume war, you will win.

Comments about Marshall 300W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

This is the best cab I have ever owned, and I havent own many, so my opinion doesnt really matter, go play one at your local music store and see what you think.
Solid, well built, cant wait to gig it and beat the shit out of it to see how it holds up
I got a smokin deal on a restock, british made cab, but even at full price these are well worth the money!

Comments about Marshall 300W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

I have a pair of these 1960B cabs. They are good sounding, well made cabs. They work well with most amps. Amps I've used with these cabs are: 6505+, Triple Rectifier, JCM 900, VHT Ultra Lead, and a Diezel Herbert. The JCM 900 does sound a little thin through it and the Diezel seems a little too strong in the low end for this cab. Other than that, great cabs.

I bought this cab when my current cab wasn't doing the job. I'm running a JVM 410 100 watt, and it used to be rigged with a Marshall MG cab (120 watts). When I dropped D from some tunes in practice it would sound boggy and like crap. Then I bought the 1960 A cab and I was thrown away. the highs are amazing and it never bogged out yet. Great cab for the moola

Comments about Marshall 300W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

I recently bought one of these cabs at guitar center. mines an older model, back when they were still made in england ( includeing speakers). I compaired the older model to the new version ( aka this cab) BOTH SOUND AMAZING. The England made speakers are still a bit better. This cab right here has a great tone to it over all tho. better for scoped tones. OVER ALL AMAZING CAB.
