OVERVIEW

The tone and gain comes from the dual-cascading tube preamp!

The Marshall AVT150 4-Channel Combo Amp with DFX is one loaded combo: 4 channels; 150 watts of power; and 2 separate, 16 digital effects sections! The tube preamp drives the Clean, Overdrive 1 and Overdrive 2 channels with an added acoustic simulator channel (makes any electric sound like an acoustic). Because all 4 channels are footswitchable (switch included), this Marshall amp gives guitarists ample versatility on stage. 2 digital effects sections enhance this flexibility. One section is dedicated to the clean and simulator channels, the other to the overdrive channels. All effects are tweakable via mix, adjust, and select knobs; and are on/off footswitchable. With 150W driving a Celestion 12" (custom-designed for the AVT series), this amp cranks without losing focus. Headphone jack, speaker emulated line out, and an effects loop with level and front-panel mix control. Like all the Marshall AVTs, its preamp section is based on a 12AX7 and delivers great tone. The Marshall AVT150 includes a PEDL-00031 footswitch.

This amp is great. The power is awesome & the effects are brilliant. I've had this amp for probably about 6 months & i love it to bits! There is just so much power that when I am practicing in my room I only need the volume at 0.5 or 1. I've had a good play about with all the effects & there are some brilliant ones on there. I haven't gigged this yet but I'd imagine it would be seriously good. A very common misconception with this amp is to put the bass right up to play metal. You don't need to put it too high, if you do it ruins the tone. I've added my amp to the avt112x extension & I really recommend others doing this. If you find your avt150x is a bit quiet (which you shouldn't) then this will be great for you.

the last 2 months i was looking at a new guitar. I played many amps (crates, marshalls, vox, fender, and mesa ((way out of my $ range)). I played the AVT150 and thought it sucked. it cracks when it gets loud, the acoustic simulator is pathetic, and marshall just tried to put as many reverbs on it to pass them off as effects. I played it for 5 minutes and said no. i rather went for the VOX ad120vth with the ad412 cab. It sounds amazing clear WHEN ITS LOUD (unlike the avt). i love the warm tube sound that actually sounds good, unlike this marshall.

One of the Best

By Anonymous

This amp is one of the sweetest combos I have ever played through. I play an ESP which when paired with the OD channels, make for some of the best cruch tones ever. It is very easy to switch from a bright clean tone to roaring distortion in the middle of the song. If you are considering this amp, go for it!

Good quality amp. Great tone and worth the money!!

The AVT 150 is a great amp. it has a little of everything on it. It has its goods and its bads but overall i love it. I would recomend it to anyone looking for a loud but good tone and sound quality which is what really matters overall.

It's good...after repairs...

Its an OK amp. I had to repair it several times because it kept breaking up. It ended up being the cheap tube inside, so I replaced it. It has some good effects (especially the delay). It has good overdrives, but sounds better with an equalizer...does not get THAT loud enough to be louder than drums...Its a good amp, but i would rather you save up a little more cash and get the Half Stack AVT150...or even just a regular half stack and some effect pedals...

This amp rocks. I got it for Christmas and I just can't stop playing it. The acoustic simulator rocks! If you want a good amp and you don't have a lot of money, This is great. if you also want to buy an acoustic, don,t bother. just buy this.

Best of Both Worlds!!!

I have used this amp a hundred plus times and not once have I been disappointed. Try this beast with a MXR ZW-44 Zakk Wylde OverDrive Pedal it will astound you! I am not a big Zakk Wylde fan but that pedal rox! The valve in that baby is great it really brings out that sharp clean tone. Its almost like it enhances your pickups! The solid state, however, is really chunky and low, which I like. Every move you make on that guitar it will pickup on, thus I recommend this amp for advanced players because of the price. Rock On, Horns Up!

Surprised

By Vramz

I expected more than I got from this amplifier. The acoustic and clean channels were very nice, but the two overdrives just really didn't sound very good to me even with a significant amount of tweaking. My old Carvin blew it away and that was very surprising. I would probably have returned it were it not for the improved sound I got from a V AMP PRO rack I connected it to. This combination makes up for the initial disappointment.
