I own one AVT4x12 cab and an AVT150H. Man, when I got home to band practice and cranked this thing up, it blew me away and I think the rest of the neighborhood. It really gets loud. I don't prefer the distortion and crunch tones on the head but the clean channel is amazing (sounds like a tube amp). To get the distortion and lead tones i like, I use my VOX Tonelab and VC-12, which makes this cab cry (in a good way). Our band plays classic rock, and I wasn't too sure how well this low end cab would do for classic rock, but when I turn the bass down on the head, and on my VOX, it all evens out. I'm am now about to buy the second AVT4x12 cab to complete my stack. I recommend this cabinet to anyone who needs a better sound, and a lot more power.

Eh, speakers crackle a little.

The speakers crackle a little, especially noticeable on the acoustic simulator channel.

good cab, good price

By

from Phoenix

Pros

  • reliable, light weight

Cons

  • does crackle a little bit

Best Uses

  • home studio/light gigging

I know that Marshall doesnt make these anymore, but these are solid cabs. Tone is similar to a Marshall 1960 cab, keyword is similar. The older Marshall cabs that came with the Mosfet Lead 100 amps sound like this, which is pleasant. Kind of bass heavy, but i enjoy a muddier tone. I have mine paired with a Bugera 333, and its a killer lil combo.

Excellent Value

By

from Mississippi

I originally bought the AVT50H head with the AVT412A (Slant) cabinet used. I loved the clean and distortion effects and the 50W head was adequate for my use. I had the opportunity to buy an AVT150H head at a good price so I sold the 50 watt head and now use the 150 which is really too much but I like it. It is a fantastic setup. No complaints with the highs, it does get a little bass with the lows but I can adjust the bass pretty much to my liking. I plan to buy another cab (AVT 412B)so I'll have a full stack. All in all this is a "kick a**" cab when paired with a Marshall head (and I'm sure it would sound good with some other brands). This is just one of five Marshall's I own.

not that loud

By

from Chicago

I have the avt50 paired with this cab and I have to say 50 watts is too much for this cab! It sounds real muddy when turned up to 7 and looses distortion. I have paired the my avt50 head with an AMPEG cab before and only needed to turn the volume up to a 5 to play along with a blue voodoo all tube half stack! Overall you are better off getting something else like the 1960 Marshall cab. Or an AMPEG cab.

Great Sound and Value

By

from Undisclosed

I found a used but new condition AVT 50 half stack at a local store, and I bought it.This cab has proven itself at practice, on-stage, and in the studio. It hasn't let me down yet. It's a 4x12, so it's bassy, but not to the point where the mids and highs seem weak. great sound once you learn to properly EQ your amp.

Impressive

By

from O - town

This cab has a good sound and is good for playing shows. It is a little smaller than a normall cab but it does its job. Ive had it for a year and never have had any' problems with it. Monster cables work best from head to cab.

Great cab

By

from whitewater wisconsin

I've gigged with this cab about a dozen times and it produces great tone. I'm only using a mg100hdfx head and it is loud and full. Fully gigable and sounds great.
