OVERVIEW

Amazing all-valve tone at a great price.

The Marshall JVM Series JVM205HCF 50W Tube Guitar Amp Head is one of the most comprehensive all-valve amp heads ever offered. No other multi-channel, multi-mode amplifier heads delivers the amazing all-valve tone offered by JVM.

For the player that wants the best quality for the price, Marshall has perfected this balance to a science. Two channels offer uniquely defined sonic accents as well as effects loop options and MIDI control, which allows you to control a switch setting in a preset to come back to. The clean/crunch channel moves from crystal clarity to a forceful crunch for heavy blues and rock applications. This head does not overwhelm you with technical mechanics. The sound is all Marshall, a powerhouse of heavy six-string shredding.

Multiple, all-valve accents provide an amazing array of tones which are accessible from the front-panel switches, via MIDI, or through the revolutionary technology of the supplied footswitch. The JVM series offers a powerstage built on the peerless EL34 designs responsible for the legendary Marshall roar. The Marshall JVM series delivers sophisticated functionality in a refined format. Hand built with pride and meticulous testing in Marshall's world famous British factory, the Marshall JVM205HCF tube amp head comes with a variety of voicing options to suit every guitarist.

The combat tube amp evolved

Comments about Marshall JVM Series JVM205HCF 50W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

No complaints. If you don't like the tone out of this machine, it's either your guitar, pickups, or maybe playing.
This amp is my A rig, and my second JVM (first was/is my 410). The guy above says it doesn't compare to old Marshalls. In that he's right: it doesn't hum, fuss, squeal or feedback when you get close to a mic. It works well with all outboard effects, doesn't pop on a dirty circuit, and delivers sweet creamy, ripping tube tone at lower volumes thanks to channel and main volumes.

At high volume you will need to change your shorts. Even the fifty drives those 12" 75s like a rocket engine. Wanting to go home and jam right now...

I've been playing for 35 years, and had high-end Fender, VHT (before they sold the name), Mesa, Crate, Marshall, and dozens of others. The JVM is head and shoulders above the others - even the JCM (great amp IF you can jam at a decent volume in a large venue). Gain is solid and furious - will easily do metal, thrash, whatever with ease.
Never blown up, burned out, or failed on me yet.
It's a Marshall...

Not worth the money

By Howard Davis

Comments about Marshall JVM Series JVM205HCF 50W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This thing doesn't compare to old Marshall's.
I've owned several Marshall's since the eighties. mkII, JCM800,JCM900.....
This amp doesn't even compare. Squally as all get out. Might as well buy a Line 6, does as good a job as sounding like an old marshall.
Reverb is bad, tone is just OK. Maybe new tubes might help....

Peavey Butcher reissue does old Marshall must better than this thing...
Enough features for even the most extreme knob turner
Seems to be of good quality.
OK I guess

Kicks ass!

By Ampex456

Comments about Marshall JVM Series JVM205HCF 50W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This amp is the only one I will ever need here on out. I have a valve state full stack as well and this one killed it. You get what you pay for with Marshall.
