Comments about Marshall M412 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:
This is a very straight forward 2 channel amp. The cab sounds great both clean or crunch. Sometimes when I play real dirty I will add an overdrive pedal through it. Not that often though. This amp don't really need it. Another great feature of this set-up is the built in Reverb, but were getting away from the cab. I cranked this baby to 8 and the speakers never distorted at all and the sound was just heaven and hell at the same time.
I love this set up. Just got the straight cab to match my head. All I can say is wow. Using a Gibson LP with EMG's on the MA100 half stack this baby is on Fire. While my quest for the perfect tone will probably never be over, all I can say is that this is the closest I have ever been to it. It has definitely satisfied the itch. As long as this rig keeps pumping pure all valve tone out of those smoking hot Eminence speakers then what else is there that you need?
I give my cab a 7 because it had some serious scratches on the corners. However, I bought it used at a level 3 and knew something would be messed up. The face looks great and you really can't see the scratches unless your looking beside it. Good enough for me.
This set-up is fantastic. I would have paid more for it. If it were made in England, then it would cost much more.
Comments about Marshall M412 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:
Bought this when I blew the 1-12 speaker out of a hand-rewired Peavey 300 watt combo I bought from a family owned guitar shop. Great amp, but who puts 300 watts of power in a 1-12?! Blew it out first time I put the volume past halfway, decided I needed something that could handle it, and this Marshall does. If you get this, get the slanted cab. It wont make it any louder, but it'll project the noise where it needs to go. We've got a small practice space, so I'm standing over it most of the time. At that angle, the noise is projected towards my butt rather than my ears. Other than that, it's a good stack. I got it used, so I didn't pay full price, and I'm happier than I would have been if I got it new. Thus, a 3.5 on value because I'd never be happy with this much noise on an expensive name-brand purchase.I've had my 300 watts cranked up just about all the way and the speakers don't distort. No idea what it sounds like clean, I have active EMG's. you can't GET a true clean sound out of those...
Comments about Marshall M412 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:
I used to have a jcm900 cab but i traded it for a peavey ultra plus. then i eventually got this cab. its ok for the price, and it will probably sound better after the speakers are broken in. I wish i still had my jcm900 cab though
