Comments about Marshall MA Series MA100C 100W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
I love the clean channel it can be adjusted to suit any clean channel need. Really warm. The overdrive is okay, but kinda to grungy for my liking, but I got pedals I run through so I just leave it on clean. I also have a loop pedal and if I want to use the overdrive it goes after the loop, so it messes with the loop. So I wish that could be varied. But the overdrive is not horrible, but there is better. But hey, for the price this is well worth it, and even without I wouldn't pay thousands for anything when there is this.
Comments about Marshall MA Series MA100C 100W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
If I didn't already own two other Marshalls, one is one of the inexpensive MG series stacks and the other an old Valvestate 8040, I would have been impressed with this amp. My little Valvestate sounds better through one speaker than this one did with two. The tone was lacking and I had to send it back because my little 8040 weighs 1/3 and sounds 3 times as good!
Features were the standard Marshall features, nothing special!
This was a factory restock and one of the corners had come off and I had to reattach it with the loose screws I found in the box.
This was a good value for Marshall.
Comments about Marshall MA Series MA100C 100W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
Only compliant is my cabinet came with a scratch out of the side, I superglued it and it looks like new, but it was a cosmetic defect that I wish hadn't been there. Other than that the sound is great, and I love having it!
This amp has what you need, an awesome clean tube tone with a reverb dial, and an overdrive, and a boost if that overdrive isn't enough. I love the bright clean! Now use the combo with an extention cab, and it sounds great. Look up the marshall video for the amp, and listen becuase it is for real. The footswitch is well designed, and strong.
I see nothing wrong with this amp's quality as long as you take care of it. The only differences I can see between this and the more expensive amps is that those have more overdrive channels, and metal knobs instead of plastic, which really doesn't matter because you can just go buy the overdrive you want if you want a second or third one for way less, and the knobs only get broken if you are careless.
This price for a brand spankin' new Marshall tube amp that sounds great, buy it!
Comments about Marshall MA Series MA100C 100W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
Just tried the Marshall 100C
I play lead and fiddle for a country/rock band. I don't need a bunch of knobs and dingers that takes a sound tech to operate. This amp is simple, full sounding and has all the bottom to high end sound you need if you're a pure player. I play a fender tele and only use a little delay and chorus and my band members were very impressed with our sound tonight. The tubes are quiet and punchy and I am really liking the sounds and tones I've experienced so far. I don't have much to say about the amp's distortion features because that's not my deal. The EQ is very responsive and even with a loud drummer like mine I never had to move the volume over 4. This is a simple plug and play rig that won't let you down,

FWIW If this amp were made in England it would be first of all twice the price, but would be hailed as the new standard classic Marshall! On the "clean" channel with a SRV Fender Strat I easily got the edgy thin twang of same. The "overdrive" channel is NOT buzzy, it is very smooth and classic rock, best distortion of any stock Marshall I've heard. Eric should try this one! It has a "crunch balance" and a "gain" knob and you vary the overdrive via both knobs. Of course it doesn't go all the way to metal, it would have to be buzzy to get there. This is one very good amp, I am really happy with it. And I haven't even changed the tubes yet! It's not all that heavy for a 212, either! The cabinet isn't ply or pine so I will be watching how it holds up. HAGO
Comments about Marshall MA Series MA100C 100W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
This is a great amp and even more so for the money. I have been playing guitar since 1964 and attended Berklee. I own 43 amps ( I collect them, and still have all the guitars and amps I bought in the 60's so I know what real vintage amps sound like. This is no beginners amp, In fact it sounds lot like my Bluesbreaker, I changed the speakers and added a 4 X 12 cab when I need it ( I changed to Jensen Alnico speakers in the amp and cab)If you are an intermediate player and want an amp that will take you to pro level as you get your chops down this is a great jumping off point. Sure there are better amps out there but generally at 3 times the cost and there is no digital amp that comes close. I may even buy another one so I can use it cross stage with my Ric-O-Sound, and Rickenbacker 360/12 and 360. It is loud so it is not a bedroom amp, but is great for gigging both small and large venue. The stock speakers are fine but the Alnico speakers really catch the old British sound. If your a shredder look somewhere else but if you play blues, hard rock (Zepplin) Acid Rock (Hendricks) you can't go wrong, If you need effects get stomp boxes, other than that the amp has all you need, I doubt this amp will stay at this price very long.
Comments about Marshall MA Series MA100C 100W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
The clean channel sounds good, but the distortion is a bit buzy. The amp is good for beginners who have some extra cash, and want to buy a tube over a transistorized amp.
Comments about Marshall MA Series MA100C 100W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
I bought this at my local Guitar Center a few days ago and I haven't turned it off yet! I needed a combo I could take to and from the studio instead of dragging my half-stack around. I can't beleive how loud it is! I will gig with this from now on. The EL34's really give a midrange punch that makes it cleanly cut thru the rest of the band without unbalancing the overall mix. At practice today my drummer had to struggle to play louder than me! Great warm tone on the clean channel and the overdive channel was killer. I didn't even need to use my OD pedals. I have always been a head and cabinet guy. Either a half stack or full stack, nothing else.No longer. This combo has changed my thinking, and that's not easily done.
