Recently moved into an apartment, so naturally my Bogner is collecting dust. Needed something quiet, small, and simple to play on to keep myself from going insane. This little guy did the trick. It's got fantastic tone for being so small & cheap. It's very lightweight, and works great sitting on my desk or kitchen table.

Wish an amp this good at this price was around when I started out playing! Things have definitely come a long way from the piece of junk 15w Crate that I had for my first amp as a teenager.

I bought this for a child to use with a 3/4 size strat. It is the perfect size for that use. The amp functions just fine, nothing wrong with it. The sound is not impressive on the clean channel but it's useable, the OD channel is not bad. If he wanted to play mostly with distortion I would keep this amp, but he is going to be playing clean most of the time, so I'm returning this one in exchange for a Fender Frontman. If you want Marshall distortion in a small package this is not a bad buy, but If you plan to use the clean channel quite a bit, I would suggest something else. I also don't like the fact that this amp has no bass or treble controls, and you will miss them terribly on the clean channel because it needs them pretty bad. The OD is decent as-is, but the cleans need tweaking and you can't do it.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG10CF 10W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

A great little amp, with great sound, light weight, and just enough features. One of the cons is weak sound output, but come on, it's a 6.5" speaker and 10 watts. Volume isn't what this is built for. I find this amp works best with headphones for jamming at home when you don't want to wake the neighbors or significant other.

That said, it is a perfect low profile, compact, practice amp with great sound.

    Do Not Buy This Amp!

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG10CF 10W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

When it comes to this amp, part of me says to buy it. Why? The footprint is small. I have it on desk at work right now. The sound is pretty good in both the clean and dirty channels. There's also plenty of volume for this little guy.

The other part of me, the one who knows now, but wishes he knew earlier, says don't buy this amp. Like its been mentioned before, don't even bother to attempt to hookup your iPod, unless you love to hear white noise accompanying the music that's being played.

The other, my Gain switch keeps cutting in and out. This was after only two or three uses.

I know its inexpensive, but I'd expect better from Marshall. So now I have to open up the back and see if I can fix what Marshall broke (or more like forgot to assemble correctly).

        In summary...sound..great. Craftmanship...the pits.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG10CF 10W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I'm a bassist that's dabbled in guitar and I decided to finally buy one (LTD 101fm) and also got this amp to go along with it. So far no complaints, seems to be of good quality and though it lacks and real form of an EQ the tonal abilities are still pretty good. I play metal predominantly and the distortion fits it quite well.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG10CF 10W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

its not to good but its alright for a begginer but when you start to get a ear for true tone u grow out of it really quick. if you keep it low and hook a few pedals to it its good. but alone it lacks.. good for musicians between beginner and 2-3 months in
its a nice little practice amp. i got it last year for small practice(my only other amp was a vox ad50vt large bulky and hard to bring back and forth) and it did the job
its built alright but its speaker blows at high volume. and the distortion is terrible. u would need a distortion pedal if u want heavier then blues. but the contour knob is really nice though
u get what u pay for. it lacks alot of things

Purchased this little amp and the Peavey Backstage at the same time for the same price to use in living room for practice etc. and because I go nuts over little practice amps. the Marshall looks awesome but the Peavey sounds mucho better. It has a 'faux tube sound' and it actually does sound like a little tube amp or close to it. Have the little Fender practice amps at about the same price too and of all three the Peavey sounds IMHO the best. The Marshall does look much better however and is sturdy build and worked perfectly out of the box.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG10CF 10W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I got this amp a few days ago and I noticed it made a buzzing sound which I didn't hear in all those video reviews/demo. It wasn't really that noticeable until I miked it up. Being a beginner I don't know if it's normal and I tried to find solutions and I read somewhere that maybe the guitar and the cable was causing the buzzing.
I will update this comment once I've tested it with different cables and a different guitar. But for a beginner it's good to use to practice I would say. Just don't mic it up.

I bought this to use as a practice amp at my apartment. While the features are limited, it does sound good. It has nice cleans and the overdrive channel is pretty flexible. The mid contour is cool and gives you some range of EQ. I play through it everyday and hasn't disappointed yet.
