I have owned one for about 5 years now, and I am looking to buy another one for my R&B band. My old one will be used in my rock bands. If you want a great 4x12 sound, with a little work, this is a great buy, and a great sounding speaker. Buy it and see.
Just like every Marshall.
Not great quality. Basically they just stapled 4 pcs of particle wood together and did not tolex the back. I tore mine apart, reinforced it with wood strips, glued, and screwed it. Added just a bit of foam to the back and sides. It is now tight, and sounds like a higher priced Marshall cabinet. I have heard of people using truck bed paint on the back.

It is a bit smaller, and lots lighter than the regular Marshall bottom, which means it is easier to carry around and you can get it in the back seat of a car (barely). Nice for an older musician that still wants to rock.

The Celestion speakers are great, but lower wattage, so use an amp 50 - 100 watts. It will sound great. I use an old Traynor YBA1A and it sounds amazing.
If you do a little work on it, it is an amazing value.

This cab is an entry level cabinet, and is priced accordingly. For an entry level 4x12, it is okay. I bought this to leave at a rehearsal studio that is at risk for being broken into. I didn't want to leave any of my Marshall 1960 cabs there. If this MG412CF was stolen, I'd just shrug my shoulders, say "meh", and go get another one. This cabinet is not a cabinet that I would take on the road or would use while doing heavy local club gigging. It is a heavy cabinet, and I did add some pop-out casters to facilitate easy moving. There is no plywood in this cab. Opening the back revealed a sloppy glue job between the sides, and loose back supports. A quarter-sized chunk of the glue used to hold the sides together had fallen off and was resting in the spider wire of one speaker. If I were moving this cabinet much I would reinforce the cabinet with some inside corner braces. The carbon fiber looking covering is cool, but time will tell how well it holds up. The wiring was heavy duty, but for some reason Marshall epoxied the jack to the input jack cup. The speakers are actually okay sounding. They are not Vintage 30's, but they are voiced fairly well for this price range with tone evenly balanced between lows and highs. The hardware (handles, input jack cup, corners) are standard Marshall quality. The bottom line is you are getting what you pay for here. It's a decent entry level cabinet for the price, and it sounds okay.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG412CF 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I bought a straight cabinet used and hooked it up to my MG102fx Marshall amp. With the amp sitting on top of the cabinet I have a mini stack. It gives me just the right sound if set right and has all the guts you could ask for. After the holidays I am going to buy another one, new this time and hook them all together. For the money you just can t beat it with that Marshall sound and quality

Great speaker cab, great value. How can you go wrong with Marshall?
How can you go wrong? This price for a Marshall 4x12. Check the prices on the speakers that are in the cabinet. Even if you want to change out the speakers for a different sound and sell them for something else, you are still money ahead.
I've got an Orange Tiny Terror hooked up to mine and the cabinet does what it should and sounds great.
Nice Tolex, nice corner protectors, great speakers and construction. Even shipped in a well padded box. Arrived in great condition.

I can't believe the quality and value delivered at a very affordable price. I use this Marshall Speaker Cabinet in my home studio with a 2 watt tube amp and get a great sound. It's 60 pounds worth so it can be a hand full if you're alone.

The only thing that keeps this from being a 10 is the back of the cabinet should be covered with the same material as the sides.
It is a speaker cabinet what features do you expect.
So far so good. Looks good, sounds great!
Can't go wrong for the price. Hey, it is a Marshall!

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG412CF 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Obviously, the MG series is Marshall's budget line, but don't let this discourage you. This cab is a great piece of Marshall craftsmanship(especially for the price).

I just invested in my first all-tube haflstack set-up, and since I play in a band that is currently just for fun, I didn't want to drop a lot of money into a set-up, but at the same time, have a set-up that sounded good live.

I ended up investing in a Peavy Valveking 100 watt all-tube head, and married it to the Marshall MG412a 8ohm 120 watt cab. The result was a great sounding budget half stack set-up.

The stock celestion speakers sound great and give you that quality Marshall-esq. tone.

Build-quality is acceptable, while it is made of fiberboard, it has reenforced corners, and has a carbonfiber covering that gives it build longevity.

Only con I can think of is that the magnets connected to the speakers are rather small, making it compartively underpowered when compared to more expensive marshall cabs.

Regardless, it still can belt out volume for live gigs without compromising sound quality.

For the price I paid for it, you really can't go wrong if you're on a budget. Great cabinet, I'll most likely hold onto it for a long while.

I tried this next to a larger more expensive Marshall 412 and this sounded 10 times better. A man walking buy said the 1st sound was best and he did not know the 1st sound was this cab. It's lighter than other Marshall cabs also. I would buy another if I needed 2 of them. I've had mine 2009 and I love it.

I recently purchased this cabinet for my studio and to use for rehearsals... I found that marrying it with a DSL100H required some knob tweaking... but though NOT a Vintage 30 Speaker like my other and after some adjustments I believe it to be more than worth the money... I intend to buy the MG100 head as well now and see if it changes tone as a package and save the DSL for work... I do appreciate the Carbon Fiber Cabinet, as I believe it will be a durable housing... That though will be told in time

This is a great speaker cabinet and it is built very well. Sounds awesome using my Boss Katana head and has a lot of depth to it. Equipped with Celestions and is the quality that you would expect from Marshall.

I really enjoy my Bugera Trirec through the Marshall MG412A cabinet. It gives my trirec the clear and heavy voice it needs for my style of music (Prog metal). It is smaller than most 4x12's I have seen, weighs less and still gives a great performance. Great job to the guys at Marshall.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG412CF 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Our band plays in small venues but I wanted to try a different sound. I have a Musicman HD130 tube amp and with a Fender cabinet with 2 15" speakers. It was just too much to lug around. I have a smaller Fender 40 watt bass amp that I used with effects. I ordered the Marshall amp for size mostly. It is easy to move and allows me the Musicman tube amp sound. So far it has worked very well. The sound is much warmer and clearer.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG412CF 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

For decades I played it cheap with homemade speaker cabinets or yard sale rejects. They got me by, but never really impressed me. Then I saw this one for an amazing price. Four 12's in a top brand name cabinet! Not only that, it was an open-box sale, so I saved even more. There were no realistically bad reviews for the type of playing I do, so it gave it a chance. Man! With my old refurbished Bassman 50 head, it plays loud and clean, open and woody - even with a bass! Should have done this years ago!
