Big Marshall sound from a compact practice and studio amp.
The Marshall MG15CD 15 Watt Combo gives you Marshall quality in a small package. No-nonsense, compact combo with 2 channels, a custom-voiced 8" speaker and 15W of screaming Marshall tone. The clean and overdrive channels share a 3-band EQ with bass, contour, and treble controls for plenty of tweakability. The clean channel produces shimmering clarity, but when cranked, it produces a highly musical crunch. Flip to the overdrive channel for bucketsful of the desirable distortion that made the Marshall name. The contour control lets you radically reshape the midrange for everything from traditional tone to scooped and modern sounds. Emulated line outs for recording plus an emulated headphone output that mutes the speaker and produces huge tone for silent practice. Includes CD input.

Looks (10) - It looks great with the GOLD front panel (not that yellowish color pictured). The cloth cover feels nice and the hard leather is wonderful. I've always loved the way the Marshalls lookFeatures (7) - This amp features two channels but only one with EQs. It has FDD which makes the tone much better so I always have that switched on. It does have a seperate volume knob for the distortion channel and has a Input for a CD player (which can also be used as a second guitar input if you have a friend over or something like that). The CD input doubles as the headphone jack so you can use headphones to mute the amp. Theres also a Line Out for recording to your computer (which sounds great by the way).Sound (6) - The clean sounds brilliant and I have no clue what the contour knob does, but it makes the sound good. The distortion is pretty bad though. Lots of feedback but I'm very please with the high gain, you can play heavy metal and nu-metal or blues. It can be more distorted than most amps and sounds good, but like I said, it has lots of feedback.Quality (10) - I've had this amp for about a year now and have not run into a SINGLE problem with it. It's very sturdy. There are clear markings on the knobs and the cloth cover is very sturdy.Value (10) - GREAT AMP. The clean sounds fantastic and the distortion channel is good sounding, but with feedback but it's hard to find an amp under 100w with good built-in distortion (I use a Boss MT-2 with this, and it sounds EXCELLENT). This amp WILL last and the value wont slip away over years. Good amp if you're on a budget.Overall (9) - Forgot to mention how loud this thing is. On volume 4 out of 10, everyone in my house can hear me playing (when my door's closed). If you're just starting to play guitar and need some easy to use equipment that works, get this. Even if you're an experienced guitar player, and need a practice amp, get this. Marshall never lets me down. Great amp.

If you absolutely MUST have the Marshall name on your first amp, I suppose you could consider this a good deal. However, try anything else iin this pricerange and you're likely to find something you like better. I looked into this a lot until I found the Roland Cube 20X... it has 6 distortions, all of which sound better than the rather peculiar distortion sound this particular amp emits. Also, I'm not so sure about the quality of these, as the friend of mine who has one of these (I use it a lot) has already had to replace it once after it mysteriously stopped operating... the light lit up, but no sound came out of the headphone jack or line out. By the way, I used the line out of this amp to plug it into my 20X to get the volume I needed (both are quite small) to play with a 3-piece rock/alternative band I play in. That's one good thing about this amp: it can put out mediocre tone at surprising volume.

I bought this amp used about a year ago intending to use it in my home studio. It did exactly what I needed it to. I have now used it for 3 of my own metal tracks, as well as a 6 song rock EP with AMAZING results. It has been used for tracking clean sounds as well as all type of distortions. I assure you, it WILL be used on more records. Love the thing.
This is a nice compact amp. It sounds really good, is affordable, and it's a Marshall. The overdrive sounds quite good and the clean channel sounds nice and crisp. I only wish that it was footswitchable between the two channels, but most practice amps aren't so no big deal there. This is mostly a practice amp, but I would feel confident taking it out for a small gig. All in all it's another winner from Marshall.
I absoultely love Marshall Amplifiers. If you want a plain amp, this one is great. You get clean and overdrive to start yourslef off, and then you can buy a BOSS pedal for anything else. I would totally reccommend this amp if all you need is something to amplify your guitar. Nothing much. If you want any certain effects or features look at other amps, but this one if just plain and simple. This is perfect for me. I play punk rock, so all I mainly need is overdrive and my BOSS DS-1 with full distortion range to play what I need to play. This amp isn't much money and is a great amp to keep at home or use when you just feel like playing. If you are playing gigs, buy a full size Marshall with the top amp and the big speaker. 5/5
This small but powerful amp is amazing and worth it. it really only good for beginners. If you're thinking of getting this because it's marshall, there's a better beginners amp. The Line6 Spider III 15 watt amp is better and cheaper. They are EXACTLEY the same but the Spider has 6 diferent effects to play on such as chorus and echo, and it's only 9 bucks. Beautiful Amp. but Spider III is beter!
Amazing how much sound and balls comes out of such a small package. Incredible tone and clarity, I just bought it as a small downgrade from my bigger amps for practice purposes and I am in love with it. Great amp from the best name in guitar amplification.
It's a truly amazing amp! It's great for any type of music, really. The price is worth EVERY PENNY too!
i got this amp for my birthday and it is great for its price. it has great sound with my epi les paul. and u can make it do a bnch more overall this is a great amp!
this was my 1st real amp, and its not as bad an amp as many people say. for what it is, it gets the job done. its more expensive than it should be, and its tone isnt too good, but for a practice amp or an amp for practice, its pretty good
Bought this a couple of years ago from a local rock shop, very low price. I was looking for the headphone-out and CD-in features for quiet, late night practice, this has worked out perfectly. The only thing I would add to it is an external speaker jack. This would sound great through a 4x10" or 4x12" cab. It is very loud through both channels, clean and distortion. The distortion channel actually does sound like a tube amp if you dial in the right amount of gain. If you like LOTS of distortion you won't be disappointed, just turn up the gain some more. Great bang for the buck.
This amp is great for any player, but especially for beginning players. If you are thinking of getting a louder amp, I would stick with this. I was playing with someone and it was too loud for him, even with the volume not all the way up. Both the clean and O.D. are pretty good, though I would get a footpedal for the O.D. The headphones are very helpful as well, but you have to buy them. Great buy for the money as well, but the other two amps that are part of the 15 Watt Combo thing are great as well.
