I play in a 3 piece rock, blues, southern rock, band. Due to inury, I have downsized my stage gear and have resorted to using very small amplifiers mic'd or run direct via Behringer UltraG DI (AMAZING little creature). With a Morely ABY switch, I set one amp clean and the other on crunch 1 with the gain maxed out. I use sm57s on both of them with a carpet barrier around them to stop the bleed through. When I don't mic them, I use the headphone out to the DI with the 4x12 setting, then to the board. I have also run them directly from the headphone out to the board.....no problems whatsoever.
Many of you readers will think I am crazy....... One thing I have learned over the years is that the pristine tone you get at home with all the vintage and boutique amplifiers (I have them all.... Fender, Supro, Ampeg amp from the 60s when I started playing and LOUSY Boogies) is lost on stage in a live setting........at least at the clubs I play at these days.....too cramped, ceilings low etc etc etc. I used the good stuff for recording and now I gig with these little Marshalls and Roland Cube XL amps. Seriously! I gig these two little amps and everyone that is a musician comes over to me between sets and wants to know what my rig is. I show them and they don't believe it. Keep in mind that Classic rock and southern rock doesn't use high gain. That maybe why this works so well...think Hendrix, SRV, Trower, Johnny WInter etc. Take Care and try it for yourself.
Kind of over the top happy with this amplifier. I use it live on stage!!! Read the manual it has all the basics of the new breed of modeling amplifiers....different gain stages and multiple digital effects.
Seems okay, we'll see how it holds up gigging!
I bought 2 of them on sale!! I should have bought 6!!!

Only an OK amp. Sounds can get very muddy. Flanger does not sound right.
Looks to be well built.
You're better off buying a Vox Mini3. It's cheaper, sounds better, and, hey hey, one more watt of power.

Comments about Marshall MG2FX 2W Guitar Combo Amp:
Wow, Wow, Wow. Got this on the Stupid Deal of the Day. For what it is, a mini practice amp it's GREAT!!
Nice tone, Marshall sound, effects, etc. Could not ask for more in a practice amp. I sometime use the headphone output with a quality mini cable and run it into a self powered 200 watt 15'' cabinet and you got a Marshall Stack Sound..... Lots of fun!!! :)

Comments about Marshall MG2FX 2W Guitar Combo Amp:
Took awhile to get the "hang" of the controls. I like the sound and the fact that it can be portable (battery powered). I do wish the instructions were clearer or tthat there were more resources on the Web how to use it.
I bought it as a "Stupid Deal", so the price was right!
Pros
- Excellent Sound

- Great tone
- Portable
- Some Effects Are Useable
Cons
- Mp3 Play Back
Best Uses

Comments about Marshall MG2FX 2W Guitar Combo Amp:
I took the time and broke in the speaker correctly. Tried it with an MP3 player and it sucked the life out of the music, no or very garbled bass, tinny mids and weak highs. Barely loud enough to jam along with.
With a Guitar (LP w/57&57+)and no pedals, this little puppy knocked my socks off, not volume wise but with great tone. You're not going to rattle any windows or wake the neighbors with this but you will be able to play a "real" decent sounding practice amp at an affordable price.
As with all built in effects, some are over the top and useless, except for screwing around but most are actually good sounding with a little tweeking. If you prefer to run it clean with your favorite pedal in line, the amp also handles that well.
Perfect for jammin with the buds by the pool (battery power)and it can hold it's own against a couple of acoustics and drunken singers.
"Stupid deal of the day" made the price perfect to give as a gift to a friend but now I'm debating keeping it and sending him something else!

Comments about Marshall MG2FX 2W Guitar Combo Amp:
Very versatile with true Marshall sound. It's best setting is 12 oclock everything. Overdrive 2 gets a bit muddled but it remains rich and has lots of sustain.
I was expecting much less and was blown away when I plugged in. The effects are decent and it's nice to have them for noodling with ideas and sounds.
Thanks Marshall. Keep up the good work. And thanks Musicians Friend for an amazing SDoD.
Pros
- Convenient cordless amp
- Great practice amp
- Portable
Cons
- Controls require practice
Best Uses

Comments about Marshall MG2FX 2W Guitar Combo Amp:
Out of the box, this amp's greatest feature is as a cordless sound source for quick, non-professional guitar playing. For practice, a small jam at the church talent show (I think you get the picture) this is a quality amp. Of course, if you're going to use it for any serious length of time, use the provided AC cord. The controls do require practice to dial in the right sound for your axe, but one can adapt fairly quickly. I have already recommended it to a friend.

Comments about Marshall MG2FX 2W Guitar Combo Amp:
Actually I just wanted a multi-use ext. speaker for i-pod, and kindle, and occasional batt. guitar amp.
The i-pod works OK but it's amazing as a tiny guitar amp. It adds a new dimension to what I'm able to do.
Pros
- Accurate reproduction

Cons
- Wish it was hard-wired
Best Uses

Comments about Marshall MG2FX 2W Guitar Combo Amp:
i love this little amp. it's so tiny, but produces such a clean sound. my ricky 12-string rings; i get great humbucker tones from my seymour duncans; i can even play my fender bass through the thing. i mainly like the clean, clear reproduction of the instruments i'm running through this amp. it's feather-light. i'd rather it had a regular hardwired plug-in for the electrical, but i understand it's designed for battery power, too.
