Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG100HFX 100W Guitar Amp Head:

I purchased this amplifier head along with the Marshall MG412CF cabinet and ever since I did, I can't put down my guitars! I'm constantly twiddling with the knobs and discovering all kinds of tone that just erupts from the speakers! I'm a firm supporter of Marshall amplification from here on!

Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG100HFX 100W Guitar Amp Head:

the marshall MG series is like your first beer, its exciting, and at first you feel like your the man...then once you've tried a few different types you realize that first beer was pretty flat and not very tasty at all. I loved this amp when i first bought it. I eventually got the MG4 footswitch which is amazing. 4 different buttons you can customize each one. and the tuner is a great feature. unfortunately when my band hit the studio we realized how terrible this amp is compared to any tube amp. after listening to our album then playing live i started to get really annoyed. i then bought a marshall DSL100. a reissue of the JCM 2000. its a GREAT amp. we recorded our album with the 2000 and we actually went back and reamped the tracks with the newer DSL100 (Much more low end! the 2000 is better for leads and seems to have a more refined distortion sound). i recently played the MG100 again since my head was in that same studio doing the reamping work. i HATED the sound. it was like playing out of your Hyundai's audio system. the ONLY thing i miss about this amp is that mg4 pedal that only works with that amp. but if your a beginner and are moving up from 30 watt practice amps, this may be for you. as it was for myself...until i grew up and bought the tube amp! i suggest going for a AVT150 if you want solid state!
