It fits great for what I use it for. I have other amps with more power and more tone, so I didn't expect it to sound like a Marshall stack costing thousands of bucks. It gets a great sound with the my guitars plugged straight in at low volume or turned all the way up ( which I sometimes do ). I don't bother with the clean channel, it's too hard to get that 10" speaker to sound decent. I used a Super Reverb for yrs while I was an active musician, so I have learned how to tame 10" speakers down and get a warm tone. Not that this amp can do that. I recomend the foot controller so you can program it and use the buttons instead of constantly having to mess with the settings. It took awhile to set it the way I like, but now I have 4 settings I can use at the touch of a button. The tone from this amp is better than some amps I've used in the stores costing 3 times as much .
The effects are useless. You don't have enough control over them such as level , mix and speed .I don't use them. I have pedals and other amps for that. It gets good volume for what I use it for, I wouldn't consider taking it to jam with a full band.
The quality is OK for what they build today . I own vintage Fenders from the 60's, so I'm spoiled. The materials they use today to build amps is flimsy, you have to treat them like divas. The old amps could take a beating, and they have. This amp is only for mellow practicing, I have others to turn up with, so it stays in the room. If it had to be hauled around, I'm sure the cab would not last. The plastic parts would break for sure too .
I got this amp for a great price, so I think it was a great value. I haven't seen another name brand like Marshall with a 10" speaker and 30 watts for that price. I didn't know what to expect but was pleased with what I got for the money I paid. I also bought the foot control pedal, I think it added a lot of value to this amp, 4 programable presets.

I loved this thing for like a year, maybe two, but I eventually got to where I didn't like the effects, and the clean tone is not acoustic-y enough for me. Besides, with a pedal, it really stinks. I have two (both Boss: Mt-2 & DS-1) and neither sounds good. They only work on a clean tone or you get lots of noise. they sounded better through my little Peavey and the amp I usually use nowadays, a Kustom KBA80 Mosfet Bass amp. This amp does have a pretty good channel though, the OD2. It's good without a pedal and it sounds cool cranked, but not as cool as a cranked stack. Also, my master volume knob only works if I set it at like 3:00, and doesn't at 4-4:30. It's been that way for a year now. And The nuts are plastic. The one for the input jack stripped for no apparent reason while I was playing and the jack fell inside the amp. I had to take off the back and super-glue the stupid thing to the case. Anyway, It's good if your just starting to learn guitar, like I was when I bought it. It's not outrageously expensive. I do like the reverb too. The chorus sounds okay with reverb. Although reverb gives me a headache if I use it too much. I don't know why, but it does. I hate the phaser. I do like the flanger sometimes. Anyway, if I were you I'd get something else. Unless you like it, in which case I say go for it. Just don't expect your pedals to sound good through it.

Wow, where do I begin with the list of problems this amp has? It was a Christmas gift from a girlfriend in my case, but if you are thinking of picking this up, please save your money.
First off, the nut on the input was so loose I eventually had to super glue the thing on, in order to keep it from coming off.
Secondly, if you are jamming on stage with other musicians, don't bring this amp -- it has little to no power, unless you're playing through a pedal board or some other mechanism that gives it more push. Otherwise, you're screwed.
I'd say it's only good as a lightweight practice amp, at best. It you're looking for anything more, despite the Marshall name, forget about it. If you want something with power, save your money and invest it in something that will give more bang for the buck.

This is the second amp i bought after a berringer solid state. The thought of having multiple channels is great, but your only going to use one most of the time (especially if u have a distortion pedal. I recommend the metal muff w/ top boost). The amp is great, but it just doesn't give you that warmth of a tube amp. I wish that they could have simulated a tube amp in one of the channels. I bought it from guitar center and got it REALLY cheap b/c it was a display plus it was on sale PLUS i had coupons.
Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG30FX 30W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp Restock:
Wanted/expected Marshall sound, wasn't concerned with effects. This unit is weak as water. I have aFender 25r(solid state) that literally blows it away.I mean blows it frggkin away. NO FRIGGIN COMPARISON. NONE. Will try to use for acoustic work as my 10 trial is over as was working and could not ship out in that time period. What a let down. With all gain, vol, mstr on10 it is weak as water. pathtic. don't, I repeat,DON'T waste your money.
Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG30FX 30W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp Restock:
I play guitar as a hobby and have a Peavey amp that just couldn't get the sound I wanted even with effect pedals. If you want a good 80's-90's heavy metal sound, then this is the amp. With the foot controller you can store the different stored sound you want, hit the button and you have it. I play at the house so the 30 watt is more than enough volume. I don't need whopping volume so this amp is perfect for me. However the maximum volume should be around 7 or 8. Any volume higher than that has a little roughness to it. This is a GREAT little amp and it doesn't bust your bank account. I've had the amp 5+ months and play it for about two hours a day and have had NO PROBLEMS with it whatsoever. For the money, you get the awesome Marshall sound and quality. I use no effect pedals with this amp and have no problem getting the sounds I want. I don't know why other people claim they can't get the proper sound, maybe they don't know how to adjust the amp to their liking or maybe they're trying to use effect pedals with it. I had to play with it a bit and figure it out but once I did I was in love with it. I recommend it to anyone whom wants an awesome amp that doesn't put you in debt. I highly recommend getting the foot switch too.

The MG30FX is a good amp regardless of what else has been said. The sound is not identical to a full stack system... My son who is a pro. said to get this cuz it only cost me 100. Let me put it in his words.. It sounds good and its got decent volume. Those who dont like it should have tried one out before they bought it. Amps are like guitars the sound is unique and subjective. Most guitar players by several guitars but only a couple amps.also if all amps sounded identical the only thing that would separate em is power and price. Bottom line good amp.. moderate power.. lots of features...get the pedal!. and before you buy any equipment go test it out.. music stores are the best place cuz you can directly compare.. find the ones you like... then find the ones you can afford. Dont take it home a decide you dont like it. and dont go checkin stuff out buzzed!!!

I wrote a review before on a MG30DFX I use which I was very disapointed in until I blew the speaker & replaced it with an 8 ohm 10" Eminence. Made it sound like the Marshalls I remembered. Since the MG30DFX is rated for 4 ohms. I figured another 8 ohm Eminence in parallel would be hot sh**., IT IS!!! Thing is, I got a blown MG30FX cabinet to put it in. The FX is junk compared to the DFX. I doubt this will be listed but while neither of these come close to the quality of Marshall's we used in the 70's, the DFX can come close with new speakers. Everything else about it is very good! The FX is not up to snuff.
Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG30FX 30W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp Restock:
This amp is not bad. What you're not remembering is it's only $200. Other top brands have little 5-10watt combos for $200+. I'm in a band. It is plenty loud. The problem with all the metal heads, is they don't EQ it right. " Gain, max ( WRONG)" Find the right EQ and this will cut through fine. It's a great amp for my metal band, maybe not so much for gigging larger events, but for smaller occasions and rehearsals, this things pretty cool. I have two of them

i have had this amp a couple of years and it is a good starter amp i was dissapointed with power on its own but has great power with my vintage washburn effects another downside is that every time you change channles you have to reset the built in effects and reverb overall it is a pretty good amp
