These cabs sound fantastic when used with any quality amplifier. Frankly, I've never understood the reviews that claim these cabs sound screechy or lack low end. Nothing could be further from the truth. These cabs have plenty of low end and there's certainly not a discernible enough difference between these and the 1960s to warrant the difference in price. I use two of these cabs and have played live with them for 5+ years. I've never received anything but glowing compliments about my sound.

This cab sounds really bad. I purchased this cab with the Marshall MG HDFX 100 head a few years ago and finally traded in the head for an Epiphone valve jr which sounds much better. The head is only 5 watts, but it's a tube head so it still gets pretty loud. With the volume on at half way, it's still plenty loud for a medium size gig through this cab. Here's the thing. I've cranked the amp on stage, then went down onto the floor in front of the stage to get right in front of the cab and it sounds so harsh. It just makes your ears hurt. It sounds great standing next to the amp but that's because your not really hearing everything it's putting out because you're standing over it. Do yourself a favor and save for a professional cab. B-52 makes some good cabs with celestion 30's, and marshall as well, but they cost a bit more. The best deal is Avatar, google them.

    A Little Tweek & A Great Cab

    By EDWARD OADEN

    from Texas

Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG412 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Like I say tweek it a little. I used 1X1 and epoxy to brace the corners, 1X1 and epoxy to brace the flange where the back attaches. Filled the cabinet with R33 for a really great sound.
Sounds like a $500+. This cab can be a bargin.
No wheels but for a price like this go to H Freight and get some and screw them on.
What you get is a particle board cab and not corner braced to well.
Just look at the price, its hard to get any 4X12 for this price.

    Not bad at all!

Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG412 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Regardless of the negatives I mentioned, I will probably get more of these cabs. They do sound that good!
Disappointed there were no casters or metal grill.
Sounds great; tight and rich. Looks nice, but... the cloth grill cover offers little protection in any playing environment, and, the construction looks quite minimal. We'll have to see how well it holds up to gigging. I actually might put extra bracing inside.
For the sound it's well worth the money.

This cab is worth the cash

Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG412 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Totally worth the money. If you need a good speaker cab but dont have $600+ this is the route to take. Don't buy a Crate head for it though, worthless.
I played through this cabinet for nearly 7 years through a Marshall HDFX 100 and it is still amazing. I needed to conserve space so i cut it in half and made 2, 2x12 cabs with the custom voiced celestians. It sounds even more amazing that way. The loudness was never a factor. always filled out any venue i played. I upgraded to a Mesa Boogie Mark V combo amp so i got rid of it.
    Can't beat this cab.

Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG412 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

cab is a little hollow sounding. not much bass to it at all. the lack of wheels is a pain. when i had mine, i slapped some casters on the bottom. the thing that really bugs me is the fact that it's sold as a 4x12" cabinet, when the speakers are clearly 10". I had mine about 4 years ago, so hopefully they've fixed this.

Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG412 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

This is an extremely mediocre cab. one good thing about it, is it is cheap. the cab is not set up for playing live gigs, although it may sound ''okay'' at room volume. if you play any kinda gigs or high volune shows this cab isnt for you.

    !! AWSOME CAB

    By FACTS !!

    from U.S. North Carolina.

Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG412 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

For me playing my SG and my Marshall MG cab on stage playing AC/DC Aounds unreal. I' AM not afraid to say that i use only Marshall MG Cabs. I'll play on stage and get off and people will say" Man what were those cabs like 1960s Marshall cabs" And i say No Marshall MG series Cabs and they don't believe me. i've actually had a guy while i was playing come and look at them. If your looking for the sound Of MARSHALL without the heavy-ness of them then this is it. Oh yeah just to let you know when i'm on stage i walk on them playing. there tough. BUY ONE

    Just a smaller 1960..

    By Studioman92-YfSKI

    from Anderson, Indiana

Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG412 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

These cabinets have changed my sound drastically. I went from a couple peavey cabs to this and was blown away. I use 4 of these suckers on stage with me at a time. I have a marshall jcm 2000 running to the bottom two and a mesa boogie dual rectifier running to the top two. The sound you get from these cabs if all in the amp heads. It really sounds just as good as the 1960 cabs. If you are just using the mg100 am head, invest in pedals. I cannot stress that enough but with the right pedals, you can make that amp head sounds heavenly..

The cab is not the problem

    By XplicitMegaMedia

    from Seattle, WA

Comments about Marshall MG4 Series MG412 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I bought this cab being skeptical because of the poor reviews but, The cab is only as good as the amp and the MG4 Head sounds awful. I replaced The head with a PA power amp and problem solved. With the right amplification this cab sounds just as good as any of it's more expensive siblings. I love it and would buy 12 more if I could.
