Comments about Marshall Mini Silver Jubilee 20W Tube Guitar Head:

Wanted to love this amp as I loved the tones of the 80's full sized version. Bottom line really can't treat as 2 channel amp without utilizing other equipment to deal with the volume levels. Hard to get good clean tone without dirt unless dramatically turned down and playing softly. Wanted to like the clipping push pull but with it on it lowers the volume and doesn't sound great with lead channel engaged. You can't switch it on or off with a foot pedal so requires manual adjustment. The lead tone is good and honestly can nail some of my favorite 80,s hard rock sounds but with volume it is very temperamental. Lower volumes very brittle and higher it can get boomy fast and eq settings between the two vary quite a bit. If reason to get is playing loud and pretty much only on lead channel then it is a keeper but for me the price was two high for a one trick pony even if it does that one trick really well. It accepts pedals very well but also gain structure is set for higher gain so lower gain warmth or just on the verge of dirt settings are not easily attainable with this amp. If you want that GnR crunch and pair with different amp for clean then should be good to go. For me I also have Friedman runt 20 and that thing blows this out of the water and both channels are useable, so I returned this one and musicians friend was very accommodating and helpful getting something else ordered. I did try amp through v30s and 65 watt cream backs and honestly same results as far as the negatives.

Comments about Marshall Mini Silver Jubilee 20W Tube Guitar Head:

This by far is a great amp! I have had several other Marshall amp's, but this one really covers all territories. I will say there is no hiding sloppy playing from this amp! It will shine when you do, but will also show bad playing in a heartbeat. Very useable EQ section. I was impressed with how drastic the changes were, some amp's I feel they put knobs on them just to do such, these actually do what they are supposed to. Very glad I was able to pick one up. Cheers to Jim Marshall- The Father of Loud!

Comments about Marshall Mini Silver Jubilee 20W Tube Guitar Head:

I've been playing for 20yrs. and have had a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 2x12 since 1997. I have a '97 fender american Strat and a 2017 Gibson Les Paul. The Deville sounds greatn but at volume set at 2, the drywall is coming off the walls. Anything lower, and the tone suffers. The Marshall is the total opposite. If you want, you can turn the volume all the way up it gets loud! If you back it off, it's definitely home practice friendly and sounds amazing. The tone pots provide a ton of control, and the clean, rythm clip, and lead channels give you any sound you are looking for. Amazing amp for home playing. I paired with 1 Hughes and kettener 12" cab, but I woukd up with 2 of them. The 2nd cab provides so much fullness of the sound. Fantastic.
