Based on the legendary 1959 model, this one delivers awesome all-tube tone with a host of modern features.

The Yngwie Malmsteen Signature YJM100 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head is a 100-watt, valve head that was developed in close conjunction with the legendary Swedish six-string shredder, Yngwie Malmsteen. The YJM offers the perfect balance of vintage tone and looks alongside modern features, which makes the amplifier the perfect players’ tool for “plug in and play” recording or live performance.

Malmsteen has been a Marshall devotee from the get-go so this collaboration comes as no surprise to his countless fans. “I can’t say enough about my love for the sound, feel and look of the wall of Marshall’s. Since I was 10 years old, I’ve insisted on having them behind me at all times,” the guitarist reveals. “I must have had every amp company in the world ask me to endorse them, over the years. To finally have my own signature Marshall is an honor and this amp is truly a master piece!”

The Marshall YJM100 head is wrapped in classic black levant, which is finished with gold beading, hand-cut corners and vintage script logo. In short, vintage all-tube Marshall tone and style at its best with rear panel features that deliver maximum "Malsteen tone."

Based on the power and tone of the “Holy Grail” 1959 Plexi head, the YJM100 offers the ultimate Neo-Classical amp with the following cutting edge features:

1. Footswitchable* Boost with controls for Volume and Gain on the rear panel.
2. Footswitchable* Noise Gate with rear panel Threshold control.
3. Footswitchable* studio quality Digital Reverb with rear panel Level control.
4. Footswitchable* Series FX Loop
5. Half power switch which takes the output power from 100W to 50W when engaged.
6. Built-in, infinitely variable Attenuator control which can take the output stage from 100% to 0.01% and anywhere in-between, while retaining the all-important tone and feel of the all-valve power section. This means the output power can be reduced to a staggering low of 0.05 Watts when in 50W power mode.
7. Valve Failure Circuitry: meaning that if one of the output valves develops a fault, a visual indicator on the rear of the amplifier shows which one is working incorrectly. This “roadie friendly feature” will save valuable time getting the amplifier back up and running again, should a valve failure occur.
8. Self-biasing circuitry to ensure proper power valve operation each time valves are changed.

*NOTE: A four-way Footcontroller (PEDL-00046) comes supplied with the YJM100, facilitating switching of Booster, Gate, Reverb and FX Loop features. This Footcontroller has been designed using Marshall Amplification’s patented STOMPWARE® Technology, allowing the user to connect it to the amp using a standard 1/4” guitar cable.

Comments about Marshall Yngwie Malmsteen Signature YJM100 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

If you want all the tone of every piece of classic rock in two knobs and a jumper, buy this head, or I suppose you could settle for a digital facsimile.
Anything that may have been missing from a plexi, that you would really want, is here. Tone, tone, and more tone. The added features seal the deal, and with only 1500 units made, I'm lucky to have one.
Build is as solid and perfect as can be, as far as I can tell.
Value is speculative, but then I'm old and think that everything is too expensive. That being said, I did buy this amp, because of what I saw in it, not the price

Comments about Marshall Yngwie Malmsteen Signature YJM100 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

The YJM100 is a great amp - loud and warm and great features. It can achieve all the classic Marshall sounds like Hendrix, Page, Angus Young, etc. when you pug straight in and use all the basic front panel controls. It also cleans up really nicely when dialed in right - but still has a warm tube tone.

Just about any style guitarist can find a good tone to use on this. When you turn on the booster you get additional gain that really sings and has a warm very playable feel - lots of sustain and great lead playability. The added digital reverb is fantastic too. i also use the noise gate with the booster and it keeps everything under control.

The attenuator knob and the 50watt option work great to keep the distortion and sustain at lower volumes - they really work well - and you get great tone. I have been using it mostly on the 50 watt setting with the volunme knob cranked and use the attenuator to get to the right volume - I also use the input bridge jumper cable in front to fill out the sound more.

If you are going for the Yngwie sound you can definitley get it. I prefer to use my DOD Yngwie pedal with it to add that final singing sustain at a lower volume - it seems a little more fluid that way - but if you have the location where you can crank it and the rest of the band can still hear themselves - go for it and you can totally get that Yngwie feel and tone - its a great amp.

You can get a great tone all day long on this - Yngwie and Marshall did a fantastic job - its more classic tone and not a modern Mesa Triple rectifier like amp - so if you are looking for that this isnt for you. With the right guitar through it you can get a good old school flaming Marshall Van Halen sound too.

I also have an old Marshall with generally a similar style (but without the special YJM100 mods) and that amp is a little more loose sounding and the YJM100 is definitely tighter sounding in conparison and plays great with a lot of punch. I actually run both amps together in stereo and sometimes use my Yngwie pedal or my Zak Wild Pedal to add some additional gain if necessary depending on what guitar im using and what the power out put is (and mostly because i have a large pedal baord and want to make sure the signal is not reduced at all when i need it ) Generally - right into the amp you dont need any additional boost - it sings. Together the 2 amps fill in a great tone range for a great playing experience.

I have a Mesa Boogie Mark V and i find i like the YJM100 better because if its simplicity, great tone and overall indestructability. The YJM100 feels like it weights twice as much as my old Marshall which has been completely indestructable over the past 25 years that i have had it. The Mesa has not lasted more than a couple years doing live gigs withought needing to be sent back to the manufacturer for repairs - even so the Mesa is also a great sounding toneful amp.

Overall the YJM100 amp is really good and i would recomend it for anyone - not just for Yngwie sounds - it can get a wide variety of sounds useable for all kinda of guitarists - you should check one out if you get the chance. The You tube videos show it well - in person its even better - i love it.
