Maxon GE601 Graphic Equalizer  

I wanted a simple small and minimal band graphic e.q. to get get some crunch goin' on my tone and I got it. The pedal may read simple and the baby blue color may throw some off but it's worth every penny. You get what you pay for with this pedal so don't be afraid to try it out.

I prefer not to use active pickups but with this baby blue hued box, I was able to achieve that 'chalky' crunch. Though it only has 6 bands, the range in tones stunned me: I can get single-coil tones without playing an actual stratocaster! Humbucker equipped guitars to acoutics can benefit from this e.q. It's also rather quiet when played through moderate distortion. If you're a 'metalhead' (or bonehead) like myself and don't want to fiddle around with pedals too much outta the the box but still get righteous tone, save your pennies and buy this !

Originally purchased based on, believe it or not, its uppity price. I mean you get what you pay for! I also bought to enhance my crunch, which it did with six seemingly simple bands. This pedal can give you good metal crunch and get this: single-coil tone from your humbuckers! If you can stand the color and price try it out.
