Comments about Mod Kits DIY The Verb Digital Reverb Effects Pedal Kit:
Overall, its a great reverb pedal. I made a youtube video on this pedal and sounds great.
Uses the great sounding Belton Brick Rever Module.
Its on the high side for this DIY kit. Its a great sounding pedal, but the price is pretty steep considering there are other DIY reverb kits that cost considerably less with much more features and sound equally as good as the verb.
Comments about Mod Kits DIY The Verb Digital Reverb Effects Pedal Kit:
This was my first kit I put together. Let me tell you, this is a great little reverb pedal. It has a very smooth delay, and if you even held one of these pedals in your hand you would see that it is heavy duty quality. This is not some cheap plastic pedal. The Verb is robust and totally legit. I would highly recommend this pedal to any beginner who is looking to learn about electronics or a music professional who just wants a quality reverb unit.
Comments about Mod Kits DIY The Verb Digital Reverb Effects Pedal Kit:
After reading mixed but mostly positive reviews on the Belton Digi-Log Reverb module, which is the "heart" of this kit, I placed my order. First off, the pre-drilled holes in the pedal housing were off just enough to cause unintended shorting between the input jack and the housing, and also between the jack and the first terminal stip. I was able to bend and twist the parts to compensate - but they really need some quality control here. Half way into assembly, it was time to start installing the five capacitors. 4 of the 5 were marked differently than on the instructions - I had to look up the individual capacitor markings on line to get their values to know which one was which. The rest of the kit building was a relatively good experience. The final result was somewhat plagued with shortcomings. The amount of actual reverb affect was rather disappointing. You could hear the difference between off and on, but you have to really listen. It sounded OK, but certainly not enough. The pedal's compatibility issue was also disturbing. If it wasn't first in the pedal line up - it simply wouldn't work. I tried it in all three positions along side my Boss Blues Driver and VS Liquid Chorus. The Reverb affect was totally absent, even with the other pedals switched off, unless it was placed first in the lineup. I ran voltage test diagnostics compared to the schematic supplied by the kit designer to confirm my pedal was "in spec" according to folks at modkitsdiy.com. They admitted both weaknesses. Conclusion: Fun four hour puzzle to build, I'm searching for another reverb pedal?
