Comments about Modtone Coliseum Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is actually a pretty good reverb pedal. The tonal qualities of all 3 settings are good (there are only 3 settings room, spring and Hall) I play out of an Orange terror series which have no effects and no effects loop so I run 5 pedals inline with the input with this reverb at the end of the chain. This pedal is a true bypass and it does not suck tone at all. There is also a very good range of presence with this pedal. You can dial in a very subtle room setting or expansive grand hall reverb or anywhere in between. The spring setting sounds good under most circumstances, just don't expect to push the levels too high on the spring setting. You might not get the sound you expect. The battery compartment is another matter though. It comes with an alkaline battery installed (good) and it accepts a standard 9volt Boss adapter (very good). But to get to the battery compartment you have to remove the bottom plate (and 4 screws which are very easy to strip). Who in their right mind ever thought this was a good idea? Terrible design. If you do get one, buy a Boss adapter and remove the battery. I got mine for a screamin deal on the internet, so I don't regret my purchase, but all things being equal, I would spend the extra money and buy the TC electronics unit.
