This fuzzer pedal turns up the volume and takes the lead without turning up the spending.

John Lennon created that magnificent fuzz sound on the intro of Revolution by overdriving a tape deck input, but if you want to re-create that sound you just need the ModTone Mini-Mod MTM-FZ fuzzer guitar pedal. Now it’s easy to create your own tone revolution, so put down that tape deck, you look silly.

Don’t let the small size fool you, the all metal body may fit in the palm of your hand but this fuzzer pedal packs a punch that can fill a room and then some. With Level, Fuzz and Tone knobs you control the ModTone Mini-Mod MTM-FZ fuzzer pedal. It can get real nasty, real sweet, or real dark, it’s up to you. The MTM-FZ is great for lead boost, thick lead tones or when you just want to get loud.

Comments about Modtone Mini-Mod Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

I'm not a fuzz connoisseur. I'm more of an OCD style overdrive kind of guy who plays rock'n'roll, surf, rockabilly, and country and western through a Deluxe Reverb and avoids distortion pedals. However, I do like the 60's garage band fuzz sounds of songs like "Dirty Water" and Them's "I Can Only Give You Everything". I had purchased a boutique Catalinbread Merkin Fuzz (which was more than twice as expensive) based on their video, but never really got the hang of it, especially when adjusting on the fly. The mini-mod's added tone control makes it easier for me to get the sounds I like quickly. I don't doubt a more sophisticated fuzz user could pull out loads of tones through the Merkin, but for someone like me, this pedal does the trick. Just plain fun and the price is right. But, the battery compartment screws do strip easily.

Comments about Modtone Mini-Mod Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

Got this pedal to play things like Hendrix and Vintage Trouble. Right out of the box it had loads of tone. Played for hours and loved every sound that came out of my speakers. It can go from moderate fuzz to a lot of fuzz but not get too distorted sounding like some pedals I've heard. It is a great compact size and well constructed. The cons: The bottom grip is a cheap foam material so I expect it will wear off eventually. The screws you need use to open up the battery compartment are bad material and can possibly be stripped if you aren't careful. The battery is literally side by side with the electronics on the inside. But none of those cons should dissuade you from buying this if you are looking for a nice cheap fuzz. I love it. And something cool: Level on 6. Fuzz on 4. Tone on 8. Play a guitar tuned a full step down with active pickups and it is a really unique hard rock tone.(a Rhythm tone)

Comments about Modtone Mini-Mod Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

Picked up this pedal with a gift certificate. I thought I'd give these mini pedals a try and fuzz seemed the way to go. Love the compact size that doesn't crowd a board.

Stacks well with my rig putting it after my boost, POG2, and OD and right before my wah. Add the fuzz with the octave and wah, and your getting sweet solo tones.

This pedal gives a good distortion tone with the fuzz and tone down as well which is what I'm using it for mostly for now. The volume gain is HUGE. It will get loud if you want it, yet can be tamed when you dial it in right.

Had an issue with the switch, but the guys at ModTone sent me out a replacement quick enough. No complaints there. These tiny pedals are solid metal, and built like a tank. True bypass as well!

this fuzz is all you need for leads to stand out and sound unique, it covers Hendrix territory of course, but also gets ZZTop style rythm tones. I run mine between the wah and a clean boost which acts as an overdrive. I couldn't be happier with these tones, and I bought mine before they went on sale. good deal, killer sound, buy it!

Comments about Modtone Mini-Mod Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal gets right to the point of Hendrix fuzz tone! My set up for the minimod fuzzer is, the tone on the pedal at 10:00, the fuzz knob at 2:00, and the level knob at 10:00, now roll your stratocaster's Bottom Tone knob down so its between 5&6 and put your pickup selector on the middle position and there ya go! I run my fuzz pedal through a Fender Deville or sometimes a Marshall JCM 900 and it sounds fantastic! I have a total of 8 pedals on my board and ive paid $200 for 1 of them, and then $70-$100 for the others and seriously i cant believe the true entitlement of vintage fuzz sound this pedal puts off!! Thats why for [$], its my best pedal! It blows the Dunlop fuzz away and that pedal is a $150!! This pedal for the price, is really the best pedal on my board! Get this pedal while its cheap because once everyone finds out that alls you have to do is pay [$] for the true sound of a Dallas Fuzz Face, this pedal is going to be a hottie on the market!! I'm serious, I couldn't have spent a better $50 on a pedal than this right here!! This pedal if your into classic fuzz sound, is for you! Buy it! You will not be disappointed!

Best fuzz pedal for the money.
This thing has become a staple on my pedalboard quickly. I push the fuzz and tone back, and I get a great compliment to my tube overdrive.
Feels like its going to last a lifetime.
Great pedal for a great price. I love this more than I like big muffs. Only rivaled by the fuzz face in my opinion.

            crazy little pedal

            By IvenFaint

            from Pittsburgh PA

Comments about Modtone Mini-Mod Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal:

I know people are skeptical of perfect scores, but I cant find a reason esp in this price range not to give it one. Its heavier then it looks for its size so it doesnt move around like i was afraid it would on my pedal board, which you can barely even tell its on because it fits so nice. Only pedal that would fit before my wah. Which by the way it makes sing. The tone control has alot of range which might take you a few minutes to dial in, but the fuzz tone is top notch. Really brings out the solos in my tube amp so I dont have to have the gain turned the whole way up for rythum work. The true bypass works like a charm aswell, also a big plus in this price range, one of my deciding factors. Would highly recomend.
3 knobs, but that works for me, I dumped my processor to make things easier. Doesnt come with manual but its pretty easy to figure out.
This thing is belt like a mini tank! really cool looking little purple tank. The knobs are plastic but seem really sturdy like the metal casing it comes in. Jacks and footswitch also seem really sturdy. Ive only had it a few days.
I doubt theres a better pedal out there for the price.
