Does just what is claims to. Only draw back is the loud click. If you don't mind the noise and you want a absolute clean boost this is the best one I've used. Keep in mind it just boosts the tone you have so I think that is great. If you want to shape your tone and get a little bite look elsewhere. I don't get a comish but you would think I do the way I talk them up, but Xotic pedals are the best I've ever used. If looking to buy something high quality but not crazy high you have to give them a try. If you really love your tone you have to pay the bucks.
Just what you want clean boost no drive nothing. Just your tone louder.
Over all quality is good. Tough and rugged, only complaint is the switch pretty decent pop sound when clicked on and off. If modtone fixes this I'll buy it again.
Good value in my openion but I rarely spend less on a pedal. You get what you pay for. Other than the pop noise great value.

I got this pedal last week and yesterday i used for the first time on a live venue. I was sure it was gonna work great based on reviews but I was dissapointed.
Im using an Acoustic Guitar with a great LRBaggs Pickup + Pream, Also I use an additional Fishman Preamp and a Fishman Reverb.. my tone is great and i needed a boos for solos..
I had to turn the boost level at 100% to barely detect any increase in the signal... So even thoigh it says that works great in acoustics it doesn't... I dont recomend it

Comments about Modtone MT-CB Clean Boost Pedal:
I originally got this pedal for lead parts that I wanted louder. However, since I have a tube amp, it ended up affecting the tone and added some dirt. I continued playing with it for a little while as a boost pedal for certain parts, but I realized I actually preferred my tone with it on. I now leave the pedal on all the time and really makes my tube amp sound great.

Comments about Modtone MT-CB Clean Boost Pedal:
So far so good, the only thing I dont like is the click when engage the thing but playing live I dont think anyone will hear it out front while playing with the rest of the group. Plenty of gain and I like the way the boost works without changing my tone.
Tone is a plus, but I really didn't buy the pedal to adjust my tone I just needed some gain boost during solo's.
Haven't giged with this pedal but a few times so I don't know how well it is built, but so far it seeems like it will hold up.
I feel like it was fairly priced compared to other pedals offered by other brands if you compare apples to apples.
Comments about Modtone MT-CB Clean Boost Pedal:
I bought this clean boost pedal based on its specs, and by the reviews as illustrated here at MF. I tried using this pedal to give me a volume boost for solos using it in conjunction with a Fulltone Fulldrive 2 pedal of which is driving a 1989 JCM 800 50w half stack.
The build quality is decent, but no where near as heavily constructed as an MXR or Fulltone pedal. The metal casing is of a lighter guage steel, and the swtich feels light as well. Not sure how long it would last, especially in a harsh gigging environment.
Definetly not on the same level as either of the two American made pedals as mentioned.
Performance while engaged was good, provided a nice, strong, clean boost with very little, if any, tonal coloration. However, where it failed me was that it did not appear to have a true bypass circuit even though it is stated that is did incorporate one. It definetly changed the tone of my amp while it was switched off in a way that was not desirable. It will be going back, the search continues...
Comments about Modtone MT-CB Clean Boost Pedal:
I bought it and immediatly returned it. The on/off FET switch was too noisy. It produced a loud "click" through the amp when I turned it on & off. It simply wasn't discret enough when switching from rhythm to lead back to rhythm. Sorry...

Comments about Modtone MT-CB Clean Boost Pedal:
I tried this with an american PRS Tremonti -> POD LiveXT -> pair of M-Audio BX8a. Had to roll back my guitar volume to about 7 in order to keep the sound clean when engaging the pedal (keeping the level on the pedal at 11:30ish position). 12 o'clock position is not the "flat" state, more like 11:30.Also the pedal is not 100% transparent, but I do love the tone it gives. Gives a fuller sound a bit brighter (you can control it with the tone knob). Still the sound is awesome. I will mainly use it as a lead boost so I welcome the bit of dirt it gives with the Tremonti pickups. In conclusion, I think its not perfect, but close.

I play an Epiphone Dot through a '76 Fender Twin Verb. So, it's all about tone and this pedal does keep your tone. Two knobs, one for tone and the other for level allows you to fatten your the sound also. This is perfect to just get louder without distortion. Highly recommend this for the price you can't go wrong.
Comments about Modtone MT-CB Clean Boost Pedal:
If you want a boost pedal that just helps you cut through the mix with out hindering your tone this is the pedal for you. I have used it for a year and a half now and love it.
Comments about Modtone MT-CB Clean Boost Pedal:
I play a martin acoustic in a duo that does covers at irish bars in chicago. I needed a clean boost for solos, but something that wouldn't distort my tone which I've worked hard on. This pedal does the trick and enhances all my other effects as well. I was nervous when I bought this cause there are no independent reviews online for it, but I felt obligated to tell any interested buyers that this is a great pedal. Nice work Modtone!
