Comments about Modtone MT-OVRD Special Edition Dyno Drive Overdrive Pedal:

This unit thins out the bottom end of a guitar, and adds a treble boost. If used on a muddy guitar in front of a distortion, or high gain channel, it will push your distortion through the roof without any mud and will work wonders. I would not recommend using it on its own. It has an unusual bright sizzle in the gain. this is not an issue when used as stated above. I've tested on 5 different humbuckers, and on a strat.I also compared to other overdrives. results are the same for all guitars. Because of the treble boost, I had to turn the tone control all the way to the left to come close to the original signal. So, if you don't mind a little top end boost, and a thinned out (cleared up) bottom, this is for you. I paid 39.I gave it 4 stars cause you cant add back in the bottom end, and because of the treble boost.

Comments about Modtone MT-OVRD Special Edition Dyno Drive Overdrive Pedal:

This pedal serves its purpose. Not the greatest sounding overdrive but adequate for a little boost. The price was great and I would buy it again at such a good price point. I would also try their other pedals as well.

        NOT ENOUGH GAIN

Comments about Modtone MT-OVRD Special Edition Dyno Drive Overdrive Pedal:

The unit seemed built well but maybe a bit more fragile than all the other effects I have. While the distortion sounds were OK, there wasn't enough gain when engaged (say for a solo). The effected volume would not exceed the bypassed volume even when set to maximum. I bought this when it was offered on Stupid Deal of the Day and thought it might be a cheap deal to add to my arsenal but it wasn't for me so I returned it. While shipping was free when I bought it, returning it cost me the round trip ticket. Save yourself an audition fee.

Comments about Modtone MT-OVRD Special Edition Dyno Drive Overdrive Pedal:

Sounds thin and separate from the guitar. It's like the amp has distortion but the guitar signal does not. I wanted it to have a little break up on songs that do not need full distortion. This is a very limited, terrible sounding pedal.
