Okay, I got this because my RP500's delay is so darn complicated to set up, I wanted EASY EASY EASY, and I prefer to use delay in the effects loop as opposed to in front of the pre-amp.
This came up on the warehouse sale at a price I couldn't pass up. So I decided that now was the time to grab one.
It is NOT going to give you the full on digital 'ping pong' type delay, but it's not designed for that. What it will give you is everything from a good 'slapback' effect to a nice rich echo. Think old school classic rock lead delay. IE perfect for my needs.
And it's also, EASY EASY EASY to use.
Win Win situation for me.

I purchased this item as the stupid deal of the day and was pretty excited. It worked nicely the first day but then it stopped working after that. When i called to ask for a replacement they couldn't make it happen. Maybe i got a dud but i ended up returning it. Too bad.. sounded pretty nice the first day. From slap back to self oscillation.

If found this unit to be just the right touch for pedal steel guitar. I've tried other delays on the high expensive end, but this gives me what I need.

Very easy to operate when compared to the Boss and Bheringer pedals. When it comes to price, it beats out the others yet maintaining the sound quality and its metal contruction, not plastic. I use it in live performances and recordings.

Comments about Modtone Special Edition Analog Delay:

I ordered a Special Red Edition of the Modtone Analog Delay. The pedal that was delivered is blue. My first thought was that I received the wrong item. A call was made to customer service. The person that I spoke with did not know why the pedal was blue. The customer service person said they would contact the manufacturer for an explanation and get back to me. I have not heard form that customer service person. So, I sent emails to customer service and the manufacturer. I still have not heard from customer service. The manufacturer did respond very shortly after the email was sent. The manufacturer stated that the blue edition is identical to the red one except the color. And as far as performance goes the Blue Special Edition of the Modtone Analog Delay sound greats. It is quiet and simple to use. It gives exactly what it needed for a nice rich tone without taking up too much space.

Comments about Modtone Special Edition Analog Delay:

Very cleansed compact pedal with a good sound. I have two from this brand and plan on buying a third. This is a "less is more" pedal that doesn't over do the effect. Very subtle.

Comments about Modtone Special Edition Analog Delay:

I got this pedal yesterday afternoon. I hooked it up right away and got going. I wanted to hear what it sounded like alone, so i didn't set it up on my pedal board at first. Right away I had no trouble finding some cool sounds! Messed around for a few, then decided it was time to pair it up with the rest of my set up. Needless to say I was happy with the results. I started playing with my fuzz pedal and the delay together, and it was exactly what I wanted. Super heavy spaced out tone!! I almost got lost in all of the sound (in a good way!)After coming back to earth I realized that i just wrote a song with out even trying. So this pedal is awesome! Get it while the getting is good! No matter what your playing, or whatever sound your going for. you'll find it in this pedal!! Have fun!

Comments about Modtone Special Edition Analog Delay:

I really like this pedal. It has a great sound to it and seems to interact well with my other effects. I use it primarily to add depth to my solos (with Boss dist) and cleaner bits (with a Small Clone Chorus). The only potential drawback that I would mention is that it has a fairly short max delay time. It works fine for me, but might not be powerful or versatile enough for some players.

Comments about Modtone Special Edition Analog Delay:

A decent vintage-sounding delay at a decent price. Short max delay time of 350 ms. Nice analog-sounding decay on the repeats. Best used during shredding guitar solos for a classic delay/echo sound. Apparently combines digital and analog technology, but sounds pretty analog. Does not sound like a digital delay. If you are on a budget and want a classic-sounding analog-type delay box this might work for you. I am keeping mine.

Comments about Modtone Special Edition Analog Delay:

Bought this on the Stupid Deal of the Day. The price was right & other reviews I read seemed to all be good. It has a nice slap-back effect that could be left on most of the time depending what type of music is being played at the time. To me, it sounds better if any reverb you have on is set on the light side. Controls were easy to figure out & adjust to my taste - Good thing, because it came without a manual or instruction sheet of any kind. That's why the 4 Stars.
