Like an analog synth for your guitar, bass, or whatever.

A high-quality effect designed by Bob Moog, the Moog Moogerfooger MF-103 pedal contains an amazing-sounding 6- or 12-stage phaser circuit as well as a wide-range LFO with an adjustable sweep function. Used with guitars, basses, keyboards, samples, or recorded tracks, the MF-103 can apply subtle tonal coloration or extremely deep phasing that spins your speakers and ears out of control. Uncontaminated by the digital world!

A direct descendant of the original Moog modular synthesizers, yet can be used with any instrument level to line level signal. Sweep frequency, resonance, LFO rate, and LFO amount can be controlled by great-feeling knobs, expression pedals, or external control voltages. Panel switches select range of LFO rate and 6- or 12-stage phasing. 1/4" audio inputs and outputs, pedal/control inputs, LFO out, and auxiliary sweep input for bi-phase effects. Heavy-duty yet smooth-acting bypass switch for tabletop or floor use.

A phaser is a type of comb filter, so called because its frequency response has several dips and peaks, like the teeth of a comb. As the phaser response sweeps back and forth across the frequency spectrum, the harmonics of the audio input signal are alternately increased and decreased. This produces the classic phaser "whooshing" sound.

Phasing is one of the best ways to impart motion to a track and to make sounds come alive. You can get swirling, shimmering, vibrating effects; fill up a whole stage from one sound source; and create brand-new sonic textures.

The MF-103's 2 comb-filter responses are called 6-stage and 12-stage, because of the number of phase-shifting circuits that are used internally. The 6-stage mode has 3 dips in its frequency response, while the 12-stage mode has 6 dips. These 2 modes have distinctly different sound qualities. In addition, the MF-103 features a variable feedback circuit which increases the resonance or depth of the phaser sound.

Power supply included.

Comments about MF-103 moogerfooger 6/12 Stage Phaser:

Very smooth, sweet sounding phaser. Classic sounds, right up to over the top ring-modulation-like effects with the insanely high lfo rate.

Expression pedal can act as remote for each knob on the unit. But the knobs as solid enough to just use your toe, if you like.

Top, top notch build quality (Except the plastic 1/4 jack bolts, I mean come on, it's boutique!)

Great as a fixed resonator (dial up the sweep with no LFO, and you have a multi-notched filter)

Comments about MF-103 moogerfooger 6/12 Stage Phaser:

I did alot of research before purchasing this. Originally I was planning on getting a much less expensive pedal, which gets very good reviews. I decided to try this based on the amount of control this offers and Moog's legendary reputaion for quality. Upon opening the box and feeling the quality of the knobs and switches I knew this thing was built to last. After hearing the effect with my electric guitar, acoustic guitar and bass guitar I was convinced that I made the right purchase.
You get an incredible amount of diversity with the MF-103. You can adjust any parameter that effects the phase sound, and connect an expression pedal for any of the knob adjustments(LFO amount, rate, sweep and resonance).
The pedal is sturdily built, metal and wood casing. The knobs and switches have a solid, high quality feel.
Value is subjective. There are many less expensive phasers, which may or may not sound good to you, which you may feel is a better value than this. However true value is not just about price, but also quality sound, versatility and dependability. To me this pedal is a great value.

Comments about MF-103 moogerfooger 6/12 Stage Phaser:

this actually was the first phaser i ever owned. i went for the gold and spent entirely too much money on guitar equipment, and eventually sold this in the ettempt to find a "bigger" sounding phaser. having gone through about 5 different phasers now (boss, mxr, moon phaser, polychorus, ok 4) they all sounded very weak in comparison. this moogerfooger is just so huge sounding, and the tweakability really makes it stand out for all you tone freaks.if u turn all the knobs completely clockwise (minus the rate ... keep that low ... i prefer a slow textural phase) then the pedal is actually so over the top that its just unbearable. but the fact that it is capable of more modulation than i actually want is what really made it appeal to me, as there are infinitely many other settings below that to really create a beautiful coloration to your signal. you don't have to worry about hitting a brick wall, so to speak. other phasers wish they could sound this good
