I just bought this pedal a little over a week ago, and finally it came in the mail today (I'm currently living in South Korea). When I first took it out of the package, I was impressed with the sheer quality of the metal casing. This thing is built to last. It's a little heavy and bulky, but not to the point where it would become a chore to move around. The grip on the footpedal is perfect if you're like me and you tend to move around a lot when you play. I tested how easy it was for your foot to slip and for you to accidentally kill your set volume, and you'd pretty much have to fall on it for that to happen. The pedal itself is very sturdy, and it doesn't move until you want it to. I was anxious all day at work to try it out, and was excited to finally get the opportunity to plug it in and give it a whirl. Simply put, it does its job extremely well. Make you sure put it as the last pedal in your chain out to your amp so that it doesn't interfere with your gain. The minimum volume feature is extremely handy for ensuring you're never too quiet, and even while running some crushing low-end distortion through my ML-2 Metal Core pedal, it gave me dead silence when I put it to the upright position. Well worth the money if you're looking for durability and quality.

I own three of these pedals, each one different in cosmetics. I run one of these pedals through my effects loop as a rhythm/lead boost. The oldest one worked great until it saw too much stage usage and was starting to go out on me. The next one had a different volume taper and had too much volume boost even when the knob was turned all the way. I had to put rubber feet under the back edge of the pedal to lesson the range to make it work for me. I later bought a third one as a backup and the same problem from the second one was amplified even worse, so bad that I can't even use it. I am currently in search of a better built, more consistant volume pedal.

Little Alligator

Comments about Morley Little Alligator Volume Pedal:

I bought this pedal used about a month ago and I'm not disapointed, but I'm also not in love with it. My intentions were to use it as a slight volume boost for leads and leave it down for rythms. Well the boost was alot more slight than I thought. I leave the minimum volume knob at about 10-11 o'clock and that helps a little bit. If you are looking for a volume pedal that allows you to get really good volume swells and all that, this is most likely not the pedal you are looking for.Overall it's built tough but it's not the greatest volume pedal you can buy. I would not buy this new! Save your pennies and get something better.

An Excellent Pedal

Comments about Morley Little Alligator Volume Pedal:

This volume pedal is flawless and built like a tank. No one seems to have problems with the electronics and it's tough construction should last as long as I keep playing. I use it for a volume cut, I raise the minimum volume about halfway so I can easily drop my volume for soft parts of the song. Works great, never had a problem. Needs to be the LAST pedal going into the amp so it won't interfere with your gain.

Comments about Morley Little Alligator Volume Pedal:

i've owned this pedal for a little more than a year now. it was a great addition to my pedal board. i usually leave it wide open otherwise it slightly takes away the tone of my guitar. i like to use it for fading in notes when doing solo songs like steve vai does on "whispering a prayer". the only problem i have is that it's not the best pedal for doing volume swells but i don't do that very often. this pedal is definitely a great buy if you're looking for something that won't make you go bankrupt. buy it now!

Comments about Morley Little Alligator Volume Pedal:

I bought this pedal in 2005 as an alternative to the Ernie Ball volume pedal which broke when my bass player accidentaly stepped on it the wrong way (the poor pedal was in pieces). So, I gave this one a try. I have not experienced the degradation of tone that others have and the pedal works great for volume swells in my experience. I am not sure how others hook theirs up but I run mine through the effects loop along with my digital delay, chorus and metal distortion. Everything works as I want. I don't use it as the last in line either ... my delay pedal is last in line. No signal loss, tonal degradation or over amplification. Works like a charm. Also, this thing is built like a freakin tank! It might actually survive a nuclear explosion. Not going to test that theory.

    Proudly Made in the USA

Comments about Morley Little Alligator Volume Pedal:

I have been playing guitar for over 40 years and this pedal is absolutely the best volume pedal I have ever used!..It's rugged construction and ease of replacing the battery (unless you use the AC adaptor) is so simple. The heck with the old days..pot, noise, adjust...this is simply the best for the price. It did take a bit of getting used to (about 10 min). Not like a lot of other musician products...designed in the USA..made in China. Hats off to Morley and God Bless America!!

Comments about Morley Little Alligator Volume Pedal:

man, I love this thing. I don't know what I would do without it!!! I have an expression pedal on my Bos ME-30, but you can't adjust ant settings for the volume pedal. so I just set the knob on this pedal about 3/4 of the way up, and leave it down most the time, but when the drummer gets louder, I stomp it up for the extra boost!!! I absolutely love it!!!

    Buy a different Pedal!

Comments about Morley Little Alligator Volume Pedal:

IN THEORY....this is a great pedal. It is a highly adjustable volume pedal that is built like a tank. Unfortunately, if you're looking to do anything resembling a volume swell you are out of luck. This pedal is good for little more than a mute switch or a rythym/lead switch. It also sucks a lot of your tone up. It is ok when it is on full, but when you have it down at all, it's like rolling your tone knob. Spend the few extra dollars and buy one of the Ernie Balls

Comments about Morley Little Alligator Volume Pedal:

Don't listen to the negative reviews. If you put it at the beggining of the loop, OF course you'll have sinal loss. This pedal is best used at the end of the loop. Minimum volume knob is a good feature. I leave the pedal set at about half, come time for a solo, I put it all the way up. Very transparent. If you're looking for a good volume pedal, get this.
