Yes I own a CryBaby. It has been replaced. The Morley still isn't perfect, but it is close. I have an all true bypass pedal board, so I was concerned that the Morley "better than true bypass" claim would be a marketing lie. Fortunately I was wrong. It does not alter my clean tone like the CryBaby did when it was off. Also, the pot on the CryBaby crapped out after only 18 months, and I didn't use it that much. I like not having to push the pedal down to turn it on, but I'm not thrilled about where they've placed the on off switch. Therefore, features only rate a 9. My friend has the Tremonti and it's ok, but the Power Wah has more of a classic sound. It does not have the spring like the Tremonti, which is a bonus for me because I like to occasionally play with the pedal all the way up or all the way down. I initially thought that the auto on/off feature on the Tremonti would be a cool thing, but again it takes away a lot of control. If you are a Creed sort of dude, have at it. If you want to sound like a rock n' roller, use the Power Wah.

I have played Crybabys for many years but got sick of the pots wearing out, so I wanted an optical wah with no pots to replace. I got the Morley Power Wah through MF and have had it for about 5 weeks. I was not able to try one out before ordering, but based on reviews I thought it was a safe bet.

I am sorry to say I am disappointed in this pedal. On the plus side, it has a wide throw range and seems solidly built. On the negative side, I think the sound is poor- it is very thin, especially at the high end (the sound is better when playing clean, but still thin). The low end takes all the bass out of my signal but at least it has some body to it. I use no other pedals, so there's no interference or chain order to blame. The boost knob just adds noise and makes it sound worse.

Worst of all is the on/off button placement- I thought I would get used to it, but so far I haven't. It is really hard to hit the on button and then move your foot onto the pedal fast enough to wah away without a pause in your playing. The button is close to the control pad, which is higher than the button, and unless your stomp motion is really accurate, your foot can hit the control pad instead of the button and it won't turn on/off. In my playing I want to precisely time the on/off of the pedal, and it is really hard to do that accurately and reliably with this pedal setup. I have experimented with putting my foot on the control pad at an angle and using my heel to turn it on/off, but again this is not easy.

I expect I will trade this pedal for another kind of wah pedal when opportunity presents.

        noisy

Comments about Morley Power Wah Pedal:

i got this pedal because i like kirk hammett, and every other solo of his is in wah. but there's a problem, when your on loud volumes, like playing a show, the button on the side to activate the wah is really noisy. i am playing through a multi effects pedal, and then a PA, i don't know if its the setup im using, or what, but the wah button thing is really noisy. other than that, this pedal is great

About the only things I liked was the solidly built frame and the price. The only feature was the boost which was a good thing. As for different tones,I sure didn't hear but one.I hate to be negative, but all I'm hearing is a cheesy,60's psychodelic WAH.I was hoping for something much better, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Comments about Morley Power Wah Pedal:

FIRST THINGS FIRST, this pedal is really diferent to other wah pedals I have tried (Cry Baby for example), and how much you could enjoy this one depends on th estyle you are looking for, the opening range is pretty longer than dunlop, but the sound is just so clean an unique!, other thing, this one is build like a tank, really strong and really heavy, just like a wah has to be.

        Great Wah Pedal

        By Joshua Baird

        from McCreary County, Ky

Comments about Morley Power Wah Pedal:

This is a really good wah pedal. I gave it a 3.5 on features because the only thing it gives you aside from the wah is the boost knob, which works tremendously. To get the best out of this wah depends on where you place it in your chain. Before my distortion pedal (a Boss DS1) it has a good classic sound, but when places after the distortion it snarls like a dragon. I've gotten Hendrix, Metallica, and even Chili Peppers tones out of this pedal.

        Great Deal!

Comments about Morley Power Wah Pedal:

This pedal is such a good wah! The price does not reflect the quality. I previously had a crybaby 95q, and I wanted a wah that was manual, so I got this bad boy. The sound is actually better than the crybaby, which shocked me. Please seriously consider this wah before getting any other!

Comments about Morley Power Wah Pedal:

This pedal has good tone, and good quality. Though, not being a very experienced wah pedal player, I can say it is probably the best I've played. I played my friends Clyde wah pedal the other day, was not very impressed. So I'd say this is a pretty good buy to any guitarist/bassist looking for a good quality wah pedal for a semi-low price.

The Best Wah on the market!

        By NYCMetalZone

        from New York City, NY

Comments about Morley Power Wah Pedal:

Ok maybe it?s just me but after buying a Dunlop Crybaby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal and not being impressed at all. I stopped using it and has been collecting dust ever since. Well my buddy told me about his Morley Wah/Volume pedal and how much he loves it and there is no switching noise and it?s a super clean Wah sound. I said to myself I have to try this pedal it out.So I went and bought the Morley Power Wah Pedal and I am impressed 100%. I will probably never need another Wah again. It is everything I wanted in a classic Wah without the ripping noise of a POT (does not use a pot for resistence , uses electro-optical circuitry)! When I kick this bad boy on it just wah's out, that?s what I wanted from the beginning and the power boost is a plus so you can really get a nice kick in the pants from your amp! I would recommend this Wah Pedal to everyone it has a great price and it is worth your hard earned money hands down! This is the best Wah out in the market today! BUY IT TODAY AND YOU KNOW WHAT A WAH IS SUPOSED TO SOUND LIKE! A++++

Comments about Morley Power Wah Pedal:

I really love this pedal. Bought it yesterday and I gotta say it beats any crybaby, though I love Zakk Wylde-sound I didn't find Zakk Wlyde CryBaby as good as this sweety. It REALLY has a killer wah! The only thing that I don't like so much is the way how you put it on. I would prefer a button under pedal but the button next to the pedal is good too. Afterall, this is by far the best wah I have ever used. I have nothing negative to say about it.

        Pretty Decent Wah

        By StratBuilder

        from Martinsville, VA

Comments about Morley Power Wah Pedal:

I've had this for about a year now, and really like it. I have used many different wah pedals, including those included in the two effects processors I own, and this one was probably the hardest to get used to. The one tip I can give to everyone is that it works best in front of your effects. If you are running distortion, compression, effects processor, etc., put it in front and turn the boost all of the way down. Otherwise, you end up with a lot of fuzz and not very much wah. The only thing I wish this had was a tone switcher to account for higher notes. If you are up beyond the 12th fret, it's hard to tell if the wah is really working. All in all, I'd take it over a CryBaby any day.
