I love my Bad Horsie 2, ease of use without the toe click is great. However this unit will not work in bright sunlight or heat, or maybe both. I was on stage at the county fair, it stopped working. I thought it was broken, bought another for the next days gig, again in bright sunlight at a festival, again the new one failed to work, well, now I have two wahs that work perfectly anywhere except bright sunlight.

I was psyched about this when I saw it and bought one. So psyched in fact, I sold my 70's Morley Fuzz/Wah to my neighbor. Big mistake. This pedal is adequate, but far below what I expected. The depth and variables are limited, not giving me the range I had with my old pedal. While it works "okay" with my Hamer Special (which has screaming pickups) the effects are barely noticable with my Ibanez Artist. It's medium-good with the Strat, when it's a little dirty. I thought the portability and the fact that it runs off a 9V would be a plus, since we play outdoors downtown a lot. It sucks the 9Volt battery like a demon. If you're a busker, count on changing the battery every time you go out. Overall, not thrilled with my purchase. I'd have been better off just using the wah effect on my Vox DA5. (which, by the way, is an insanely good amp - batteries last for a few months even if you play every day - bought mine right here from MusiciansFriend)

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

Sweep, volume and tone on this pedal are excellent, unless you put it in the wrong position in your chain.
If you have problems with any of these, try moving it.
Having a level control is very useful, you can bring the level up manually if all else fails.
What more could you ask for?
Setting it to turn off instantly in the heel down position isn't for me, if I'm still playing wah it has to re-engage, so I keep it set to shut off in a half a second, so when I press back down it's still on, but you have that choice too.
No more of an issue than having to mash a Cry Baby or Vox full forward to turn them off.
The contour is very useful, again, if you place the pedal in the chain correctly you will hear a wide difference.
People who are having tone, volume or sweep issues almost certainly have the pedal misplaced in the chain.
I have had many versions of Cry Baby and Vox pedals, I like this one better than any of them.
No squeeking, crackling, built like a brick, sounds great.
Just an awesome pedal if used correctly.

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

I am a wah wah collector. I curently own 12 wahs and I really like the Morley Bad Horsie 2. The sound is smooth, the pedal action is very smooth. The wah effect is intelligently distributed across the entire travel of the pedal. The flip-flop has a very comfortable pivot point... better than the Dunlop/Vox pivot imho. Additionally, ay idle or engauged, this wah is very quiet electrically... none of that clunky mechanical switching jazz either.

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

This is a great wah wah pedal. The switchless feature is really cool. When you want wah wah effects just step on the pedal and your off and running without any change in volume or cutting out the tone of your guitar. It has a very broad range, which gives you a lot of freedom for expression. It has a wide base and pedal which is very comfortable. You don't feel like you're standing on one foot because you can put some weight on your pedal foot without feeling as if your about to tip it over or feeling like your foot may slip off of it. This is an awesome wah wah pedal!!!

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

I've used Crybabys, Vox, and others. This Morley wah is the best I've had so far. I like wah pedals to activate when you rock them forward. My Dunlop 95Q was good in that way, and I also set up my effects processors to do the same (GT-10, Axe-Fx). The 95Q has a traditional pot, however, and the Morley uses optical sensors which give it a really nice, smooth travel. Feels great underfoot. The sound produced is very even over the travel of the pedal. No jumps, zippering, etc. The level and contour adjustments are a nice touch if you want to tailor the wah's Q and maybe goose some downstream pedals or your amp when the wah is activated. Of course, the best feature is not having to worry about turning it off or on.It is built like a steel brick and should last a long time. My other guitarist's original Bad Horsie lasted him over 10 years not mounted to a board.

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

After years of using a vintage 60's Hendrix crybaby, I decided to give this one a go. Wow, this really blows it out of the water! The key is the contour section which lets you adjust the intensity and volume of the effect. Also, the pedal itself feels so much better than others I've used because of the springloaded action and switchless design. My only complaint is that it's a space hog, but everything else makes it worth the size.

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

I've had this for about three months so I can be slightly objective. I haven't owned a thousand wahs, just an original crybaby, an ibanez wd, and some modellers. Love the BH2. Switchless and optical are superb features. Sounds excellent. Feels excellent. Easily powered with a Onespot. No hum, hiss, or noise. I need my wah on the floor so I don't mind that it's a bit bulky. It snugly fits in the pocket of my pedaltrain mini bag. I'm very happy. I also like the buffer in this guy. It's a bit pricey is all.

Ok, I got this pedal and whats not to like? Its got great tone and the delay adjustment was a great feature (smart one too). Also what completely blew me away was its durability! About a year ago my church building (where my pedal was left on the floor plugged in) got flooded. Since my pedal was no the floor I was sure it was a gonner being plugged in and stuff and being underwater for 48hrs!! I opened it up, let it dry for about a day, and PRESTO! Good as new!!! Thanks Morley, for such a great wah pedal!!

          A Great Wah

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

I play seated most of the time in my home studio, it's nice to have the wah turn on instantly. The adjustable contour & level allows you to dial it in to your liking, boosting the level gives a boost to your solos. It's the best wah I have ever used. I will never use an old style wah again.
Auto on. A switchable second wah adjustable for contour & level. A nice large foot board.
Very rugged design. Dead quiet. Very adjustable. Very smooth pedal feel.
Old style wahs with potentiometers & mechanical switches seem old fashioned. This wah is about the same price.

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

I bought the BadHorsie2 about 3 weeks ago.I played it through a Vox AC30CCH, using 2010 Ibanez S570DXQM with evolution pickups, Epiphone Les Paul With GFS FAT PAT Pickups, MIM Strat with stock pickups, 2001 Gibson Explorer with stock pickups.Very nice, full sounding.I would keep it, but I have a heavily modified Dunlop GCB-95 Wah, that I like better. If I didn't have this modded wah, I would definitely hang onto this BadHorsie2.I like that you can just step on it and it goes. What I don't like is that you can't set it at a particular spot and leave it there. Sort of like using it as an addiotnal tome control sort of thing.Overall, I think its a very good wah pedal.

          Stevie Vai BH2 Wah

          Just buy one!
I just purchased the wah a few days ago. I have owned many Wah's over a 30 year period. I must admit this is the best. I loved my Budda; however, it is still mechanically operated.

The instant on/off, dead quiet, and tonal sounds are excellent. Don't waste a ton of money on the high end pedals...you don't need to.

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

This pedal is a great Wah, but there is a slight delay of maybe half a second after your release the switch- which can be slightly irritating if you are using this with heavy distortion, because the tone slaps back to normality with a poor transition. However, some people I know can use that delay to their advantage in a solo. Either way, this pedal is great quality, and has no negative effect on the quality of your sound.

Cant use this in direct sunlight!!!!!

          By andy urban

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

Love the sound, love the spring activation but why cant they close in the housing where the red LED light activates the wah. Whenever I play a daytime show outside I have to switch to a Crybaby. They should put some black plastic around the entry to shield sunlight from getting into the LED sensor area. But when I'm doing night time shows or indoor (which is 80% of the time) this pedal is great. Easy to use and gives a wide selection of wah tones. I'm really hoping that Morley fixes this problem. I cant believe that Steve Vai never plays daytime events. If he does in fact use this pedal.

fantastic pedal. optical action is super smooth. the only downsides are: 1) it doesn't cut out immediately when you let off the pedal. 2) Its springloaded so you can't just it leave in a position.
Other than that it blows away other things I have tried. It has one standard mode and one adjustable. It would be inaccurate to say you could make it sound like anything, but it has a lot of room for adjustment.
