OVERVIEW

Gives you 2 kinds of volume adjustment.

The Morley Volume Plus was developed from many user requests for a switchable Minimum Volume control. Minimum Volume control allows users to use the volume guitar pedals for either a Lead/Rhythm pedal or a standard Volume control pedal. Electro-Optical Volume footpedal is consistent and studio quiet (no pots to wear out). AUDIO taper allows smooth volume control or violin type swells. Minimum Volume knob is used for a smooth transition between rhythm and lead volumes. Works with Guitar, Bass, Keys or any other instrument you need to control volume on.

Some found it inconvenient to have to turn down the Min Vol knob and then have to reset it when using either function. Now, the Minimum Volume feature is foot switchable so it can easily be used as Lead/Rhythm pedal or Volume pedal.

FEATURES
  • Switchable Minimum Volume control
  • AUDIO taper allows smooth volume control or violin type swells
  • LED indication, easy access battery compartment.

I am an older guitar player getting back on the scene because I enjoy playing music out in public. I formed a small band now and I am getting use to live performances again. Most of the time we have the clubs mixer guy working (but not too reliable sometimes) so we run through the PA system at the venue we play at. I decided wanted more control for my volume levels so I bought this pedal.

This pedal's construction is made very well and is durable. I really like the function to have the volume control switchable from volume swelling to minimum volume setting using the footswitch on the side as you can see in the pictures of the unit. Excellent pedal and worth the cost if you want to control your own volume.

However...ONE THING that I wished Morley had provided on this particular peddle model is a MAXIMUM volume setting control to go along with the minimum volume setting control. If they did that for guys like me who want FULL control of their volume setting during live performances (beyond guitar knob volume control) this peddle would RULE!
When I stomp on that peddle I want to hear my guitar solo at a certain volume and then after that, back for rhythm guitar. Yeah, I probably can do that same thing with a booster switch, but geezs…more pedals on the floor is not for me!

Morley people!! …if you look at any of these customers feedbacks on here, PLEASE consider adding a max volume control along with the min control. This would really make this peddle so much more versatile and AWESOME!

I perform with a country band 2-3 times weekly. I needed a volume pedal, and wanted it to have a minimum volume setting and landed on this pedal. I had 3, and never experienced the problems of the pedal not being "linear". All three had a pretty smooth sweep, although the last 30 percent was a bit touchy. While functioning, I really loved this pedal.

However, at one point, all 3 messed up during a performance. The minimum and maximum would switch. All the way forward would be no volume, and all the way back would be max volume. Then it would switch to just silence and no volume at all, then it would randomly work for a few seconds and start this over. Pretty awful thing to have happen during a live performance. For my third Morley Volume Plus, I switched from using a One-spot power supply to a Morley brand power supply, and it too encountered the same problems after a couple months passed. Needless to say, I won't be getting another. I have already ordered a clean boost pedal to switch from rhythm and lead, and it will actually fit on my pedal board too.

Comments about Morley Volume Plus Pedal:

LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
So to be perfectly honest i absolutley detested this thing when i first got it! The sound went from nothing to about 50% instantly and i couldn't believe a morley product could be so bad! I did some reading and found out you can calibrate it by moving a couple led's inside.. After i did that... WOW this thing is seriously amazing! volume swells that are smooth as butter and because its optical you never have to worry about dirty pots or broken strings! This pedal nails it right on the head! Go to morleys website and figure out how to calibrate this pedal before you use it! The minimum volume feature isnt of a whole lot of use to me because i own a 3 channel tube amp.. but its cleans up the od1 quite nicely if you roll it back enough!
Metal construction, optical mechanism.
Lower priced by far compared to lesser quality models!

Dont listen to the haters...

Comments about Morley Volume Plus Pedal:

Dont listen to the haters! This is probably one of the best Volume pedals out there.
Very sturdy and solidly built, this pedals feels very smooth. As for the taper, ITS AJUSTABLE. The people that say that the taper is too choppy have obviously not read the manual! You can adjust the taper from linear to audio and anywhere In between.
The only downside that I can think of is that It takes up alot of room on your board, but subsequently, that means you have better control of it because of the increased surface area that it provides. Also, It uses an optical system, instead of the traditional string, (like Ernie Ball Volume Pedals) which means your not going to be needing to replace broken strings and Volume pots.
Overall, I highly recomend this pedal if you're not worried about it taking up a little more space than other Volume pedals. Morley does Volume Pedals right!

    Morley Volume Plus

    By B-Dog-Aw-q1

    from NY

Comments about Morley Volume Plus Pedal:

This is a great volume pedal. Very smooth, even control of the volume & no added noise. The minimum volume setting is great for songs that have parts that have a lower volume. With the switch on you can set the minimum for exactly what you need & go back and forth between them instantly. Click the switch to off & you're back to a regular volume pedal.

    Eh...

    By Josh Bryan

Comments about Morley Volume Plus Pedal:

    Not a gradual swell.
Here's the deal, the pedal is basically a mute button. There is no gradual volume. At 40% you're still at 0 volume and then at about 50% you're at a 10 volume. Not a whole lot of inbetween.
    Solid quality.

    A Good Pedal

Comments about Morley Volume Plus Pedal:

    A great product.
I wanted a good volume pedal. After some research, I got impression that this one was pretty good, and it is. Smooth, repsonsive, heavy, therefore does not shift on the flore.

    Not Smooth At All

    By Unnamed User-8IdhT

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Morley Volume Plus Pedal:

With all the great reviews on this product, I was pretty hopeful that this would help make my volume swell a lot smoother than using my guitar volume switch, which is hard to reach. But it takes a minute for sound to even come in, and you can hear the sound "clip" in. I wanted a smooth linear growth, and this clips in at a certain point, and then swells up. Good for volume control. Not for swells.

Does the job, is reliable, what else can I say?
Just needed an expression pedal for my keyboards, this one was well made, works great and has the optical control illiminating most noise.
Standard Morley quality, built like a tank.
A little more expensive than some but it is well made.

    Volume Swells: Here it is.

    By jfbouz

    from Boston

    See all my reviews

Comments about Morley Volume Plus Pedal:

I've searched high and low for a pedal to do progressive-rock, violin-like volume swells. I had tried Ernie Ball and George Denis volume pedals, but neither had the sturdy construction, comfortable feel, and smooth range of motion of the Morley Volume Plus. A little practice rocking this pedal, teamed up with some reverb/delay, and you can effectively model the volume swell guitar solo in Rush's La Villa Strangiato, or the verses of Yes' Heart of the Sunrise. If you're a progressive rock fan and love the volume swell sound of band like Yes, Genesis and Rush, this is your toy.

Comments about Morley Volume Plus Pedal:

I made the mistake of thinking that all volume pedals were simple and equivalent. I purchased another brand and was shocked by the tone suck. If you are serious about your tone and work at it, then the Morley Volume Plus is one of very few tonally transparent pedals, and perhaps the only one in a very affordable price range. The minimum volume switch is really handy if you find yourself making lots of transitions between clean and dirty using your guitar volume knob - the ability to preset the minimum volume and hit it every time without fail will clean up your volume transitions and add a professional tightness to you and your band. The pedal volume taper rate was perfect out of the box.
