Comments about Nady AxeHead Mini Headphone Guitar Amp:

No clean tones. Either you get some distortion or it's unbearable. Tried 4 guitars and 3 headsets. All the same. No clean tone or near clean.

          to sum it up:
I use it for home practice so as not to disturb others with my fumbling
1)Yes the sound is cheesee distortion.
2)it is, like others of its kind, stuck on the end of your guitar and therefore a potential accident..I have rigged a short male to female jumper to keep from clipping it off.
3)not very inspirational... controls are very limited.
4)charges from computer usb .. seems to last quite a while
Spend a little more and get a VOX, but don't expect a lot more

          This thing is great. Yeah the distortion is a little cheesy. But I found if I run a 3.5 mini stereo from the amp to the line-in jack on my computer I can then pop open a shell, type rec at the prompt, and I'm recording ;;

Comments about Nady AxeHead Mini Headphone Guitar Amp:

I am a regularly gigging musician, have been for 15 years or so, I just bought this just to try and be lazy to have a little something to play my bass silently when my son was asleep. Obviously can't crank up a full stack at 1:00 am.
#1, it doesn't work for 5 string bass (or any bass really) well at all. Unless you have the bass OFF on your pickups, even passive it distorts too heavy to be useful. Tone is terrible.
Plus after a month of maybe 4 hours on it total (I've only charged battery twice)the jack piece broke off in my jack on my bass! I saved the jack, but unit is toast. Save your money and buy a POD...leave this alone.

            Great practice tool

Comments about Nady AxeHead Mini Headphone Guitar Amp:

Good tool for practice. Five stars because it performs as advertised and has some nice design features.

Has a variable gain control that allows you to add as much or as little overdrive as you like. Didn't notice any particularly noisy settings as mentioned by the other reviewer. The overdrive reminds me of the sound I get out of my Pignose amp.

I especially like the fact that it has a rechargeable battery so I don't have to waste money on that. It charges via a USB connection and comes with a cable. Just hook it to a computer. Some phone chargers might also work. It won't allow you to route the audio to the computer but for this price, I didn't expect it to.

Works well with my Telecasters that have a recessed jack cup, my Les Paul and even my Strat. Good design, Nady.

Some settings are just noise...the right one will let you practice without disturbing someone (for me it's a sleeping baby). Also good is the rechargeable unit, charges like an iPod.
