First, the good: I love the look of my amp. I bought the orange one, and as expected, the look is flawless. I also like Orange's approach to the speaker grille, which they made detachable (with a nylon strap loop in the lower right corner and several strips of Velcro). This provides very easy and quick access to the speaker, which might come in handy. As for sound, it's classic Orange tone as long as your bass is completely passive. I have a P-Bass with the standard split pickup configuration, and I get a mid-rich sound that fits in perfectly with 70s and 80s rock. Now, with that having been said, my primary bass is an Ibanez SRX650 with passive pickups, but an active 2-band EQ preamp. The thing I noticed immediately about this bass on this amp was that I could not turn my Ibanez's bass pot past about 50% without hearing some rather significant distortion. This is by no means the end of my Orange, but it is certainly something that you should note before you purchase this amp. One more thing; the tone that I get out of this amp while using my Ibanez is incredible. It is a very modern sound, which I tend to prefer. I scoop the mids almost entirely on the amp, and with my bass's treble pot turned to about 10%, I get a fabulous sound comparable to that of Queen's Another One Bites the Dust. This amp is extraordinarily versatile, especially when you consider the low price. Just make sure that you can handle cutting some of the low end out of your active bass's sound when you make this purchase.

I've owned this amp for over a year, and two amp techs have reached the same conclusion I have; it sounds wonderful IF you're using a bass with passive pickups. The EQ controls on the amp are lacking, but for the price, I didn't expect a whole lot, so I wasn't too terribly bothered by that. The problem is that my Ibanez bass (dual Active Humbuckers) puts out far too much gain for this amp to handle. The result? You can push the volume on the bass to about 80% and the "low" knob to about 40%. I don't know about everyone else, but I believe a bass amp should, at the very least, be able to handle BASS. I'm not talking about super heavy metal stuff, either. The limitations of this amplifier have prevented me from obtaining, well, really any desirable sounds. You could get this to use as a bedroom practice amp, but if you have active pickups, I implore you to look for another model. The Fender Rumble series is an excellent (and competitively priced) model. I have dealt with this amp's shortcomings for too long. I will be replacing it shortly.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX CR50BXT 50W 1x12 Bass Combo Amp:
this is a great little amp with plenty of power for small gigs or practice. in using it out i found it did not have that deep low end that i am used to with fender or ampeg. but it is light and portable. tried it througn the board and also with an extension 15 inch speaker and was able to get the low i need but by itself it sounds like a guitar amp. and i am back to carrying an extra speaker again. a better heavy duty speaker would probably help. for country and old rock it just did not have that heavy bass feel. bob in wv

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX CR50BXT 50W 1x12 Bass Combo Amp:
This was my final choice for a studio practice and home recording amp for my bass. I looked at Ampeg, Fender, Acoustic at first as I just wanted a "bass only" practice amp to tinker with. I wasn't too impressed in the price range I was looking at so I also looked at Hartke, GK, Markbass on a little higher end and stumbled upon this Orange model. I must say after playing some higher end amps for the Money Nothing even comes close to this Orange!! This amp delivers a warm rich sound, is punchy, defined, smooth and is an essential tool in songwriting for me. I am a MI grad for guitar and also a lead vocalist. Bass is just a sideline in my home studio. I have since fallen in love with playing the bass and playing this amp has brought our some very powerful and creative ideas towards building songs and creating rythyms. Who knew a little practice amp would yield such incredible results to my portfolio. I would recommend to anyone, bass player or not to add this little gem to your collection. Unless you are playing live and need 300+ watts of rich tube adrenaline, this amp will suit most of your needs. Well worth the money. You won't be dissappointed!!

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX CR50BXT 50W 1x12 Bass Combo Amp:
First attraction to this amp was just the look of it. It had killer look and style to it. The sound on it is near pristine. Very clear sounding, not much in the humming department. There is a wide range of tonal capabilities. The bottom end sings pretty low for a nice tone that sits well and plays under the rest of the instruments. The high end is very punchy and predominate. It could be a little off-putting to players who like to stick with a low end tone. If not adjusted just right it can get muddy. Overall, it's a great amp, and I will be buying more Orange in the future.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX CR50BXT 50W 1x12 Bass Combo Amp:
I tried a few different brands in the store, but I came back to the Orange. I like the options on this particular amp. The tuner is a nice feature to have but I find that its really sensitive compared to my standalone tuner. Sound options are great. This amp is good for practice, but I plan to purchase a cab because my drummer is super loud.
Pros
- Love The Orange Color

- Really Nice Looking

Cons
- Not Enough Low End

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX CR50BXT 50W 1x12 Bass Combo Amp:
Firstly, this amp has only a 50W speaker in it. The amplifier is rated at 50W. The speaker really limits the bass response of the amp too. If you use the ext. speaker jack with another cab it really rocks. reccomend repalcing the speaker with something a little more formidable.
I hooked up a behringer eq and it improved the sound alot but not enough. Speaker replacement is the only option. Luckily i bought it as level 4 and repaired it myself back to OEM condition.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX CR50BXT 50W 1x12 Bass Combo Amp:
I needed an amp that is powerful enough for small venues, without a lot of weight, and this amp fits the bill. I was using my Fender Rumble practice amp, but with only 15W, it wasn't quite cutting through. I have a 300W Behringer amp, but carrying it around is a real chore because of its weight, and for small venues, I don't really need 300W. This amp has 50W and is just perfect. And I got it in orange to match my strings and cable. I really like the built in tuner. That's one less extra thing to carry around.

- Stylish
Cons
- Can't Handle Active EQ
- Limited Functions

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX CR50BXT 50W 1x12 Bass Combo Amp:
I love this thing. Its Orange, It does the job very well. Built solid( Like a Tank). If you are looking for a small amp, easy to move but big on old school tone this is the amp for you . Buy this amp You will be a Happy Camper.
Features are Nothing fancy and for me thats good thing. Just a good solid 3 knob EQ that does the job very well. I do Love the on board tunner, Its always there you never have to look for one. The line out is also great for recording.
Looks like quality is job one with Orange. This is a solid built amp. For a fifty watt amp this thing has all the volume, and the tone is pure.
For the money this is one of the best in this price range. Easy to move around. Great sound, Will fill a small room with sound. If you need more use the line out into the mains.
Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX CR50BXT 50W 1x12 Bass Combo Amp:
An outstansing amp, That's suprisingly loud. Perfect for a nice practice amp, And something to travel around with.
The amp features a control for Volume, Lows, Mids, Highs, and Gain. They do more then the mass of features and buttons I see on most other all in one amps. The tuner is a nice touch, And works perfectly as well as the headphone jack for jamming.
It's an Orange amp. This thing is built like a tank.
Played with quite a few amps in this price range, And this is the best by far.
Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX CR50BXT 50W 1x12 Bass Combo Amp:
For the price it's a great starter combo for new bass guitar players or a nice practice amp for an old pro.
Could use low mid and high mid knobs instead of just a general mid for fine tuning. Tuner works great.
Everything you'd expect from Orange, crisp and clean.
A good price tag for a combo that can get very LOUD.
