Overall the Orange Crush Pix CR20LDX is a great amp. It's solid, it's versatile, and it's easy on the bank. The digital effects and tuner really sold this amp for me, and they work very well. It's tone is fairly bright, but if you turn the gain and overdrive up you can get a nice crunch out of it. My only complaint with this amp is that it doesn't get quite muddy enough for the sound that I try to achieve, however, as far as very clean, bright sounding amps go, this is the one I call on. It get's plenty loud, and I use it often in smaller venues such a coffee shops or parks. I would recommend getting a tilt stand for this amp, as this will allow it to project significantly better.
This Orange Crush amp is loaded with features. Specifically, it has 16 different digital effects that all sound pretty true to analog pedals. Also it is equipped with an accurate tuner that comes in handy during gigs or at home. One couldn't ask for any more features out of an amp in this price range.
Solid "Orange" construction makes up this amp. When you carry it, it feels substantial. I've accidentally dropped mine more than once, and it has been surprisingly resilient.
You can't get an amp with these features at a price this good.

This amp is okay as long as you don't expect too much. It's supposed to be 20watts but it isn't nearly as loud as my 15watt solid-state Peavey Blazer 158. It is great for a small quiet practice amp where all you need is a cord and a guitar. The tone is okay for solid-state, nothing you'll be telling your guitar player buddies about. Effects are also ok if used sparingly. Let's put it this way, it looks cooler than it sounds.

I bought this amp for reherseal, but when My Marsh. bit it i needed to replace it so I built a larger cab and put in a 12" Eminence speaker, whoa, Now I wish I would have bought the 35. It sounds great and is gigable. It's still not tube but as far as a solid state amp goes it's all good

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR20LDX 20W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:
I really love this amp. I got this amp for my birthday 3 or 4 years ago , and I love it's tone and warmth. It has that british tone to it, think Beatles and bands like that. For a 20 watt amp, it can keep up with the big boy amps and is suprisingly loud. The effects on it are very isgood, it has lots of them and they're pretty authentic to like a good pedal would sound. The speaker great, I haven't had to replace it since i've had the amp, which is 3 or 4 years. It has a nice crunchy overdrive, but not much overdrive, you might want to buy a pedal if you want lots of overdrive. The orange tolex and the basket weave are very attractive, not to mention the logo and the crest in the center of the front of the amp. All in all, I just love it. BUY IT, i promise it you won't regret it. I promise.

Excellent product for the money! Would buy Orange Amps again!
Just purchased my first Orange Amp and so far I can I'm very happy with the sound and the features for the money. I've always used Fender Amps in the past and was talked into this one by a MF Customer Service person and I'm very happy with my decision to purchase this little powerhouse of an amp.. Thanks MF for your recommendation!

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR20LDX 20W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:
I bought this particular for my custom guitar & repair shop, its just the right size and I honestly wasn't expecting the huge sound. There is no feedback and the harmonic distortion is non existant. The vast array of digital effects is pretty cool, they sound high end not cheap. I love the integrated tuner, saves me time with tuning. For the price you just can't beat it. This is the first Orange Amp I've ever own and played on, I always heard good things but now I know first hand, I'll most likely buy nothing but these amps from now on.

I really like it. The truth I that I didn't know a thing about Orange amps. and didn't really need one. I'm not much of a guitar player but I love color and when I saw this, I was smitten. I was torn between this and the 35W but the price was right on this one," and the only thing that was better about the 35 (that I cared about) was the 10 inch speaker and the difference in price in this was more than a hundred so I thought I'd ""settle"" for this one. What a surprise when I got it home. It is really FUN. It sounds great and all the volume an amatuer needs. I think the effects are very good and there are times that it almost makes me sound like a Player. I have many guitars and they all sound good through this (single coil or humbucker). One more thing; this is a very simple amp. You don't have to program it and it doesn't come with a USB cable", just plug and play. If your'e a Pro. this isn't for you but if you just want to jam with friends or play at home by yourself and have fun, this is the one. Buy it and have a good time with it.
Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR20LDX 20W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:
Great little practice amp. We mic our amps. I use this at our bands practices. Since we mic our amps, it's more than enough volume. Sounds pretty decent. I'm not a big solid state amp fan, but this one actually sounds good. In a pinch, this would serve as a good back up amp should one fail. Fun amp. Well worth the money. Nice to have a light weight amp to bring to practices.
Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR20LDX 20W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:
What this is: a practice amp, probably the best one I have ever fiddled with but still just a practice amp. That 8" speaker can only do so much in the way of delivering tone. Maybe there is an aftermarket speaker (Eminence?) that one could replace the stock one with that would improve things...but I doubt it. Still, this thing is pretty cool; the effects are fun to play around with and the gain is nice and crunchy. Buy it to keep in your room, don't buy it to mike at gigs. 10" speaker minimum for that......

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR20LDX 20W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:
I decided to pick one of these up as I as looking for something small that I could just plug into without dragging out the pedalboard, cables and kitchen sink. I wanted to try something different and admittedly I was seduced by the Orange mystique and cool retro vibe. Aside from the head-turning looks (and yes, this little box is way cool to gawk at) the overall tone and performance of the amp is a mixed bag. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool tube guy, so I wasn't expecting the world from a solid state box, particualarly one this small with an 8" horn in it. Tone wise, this little guy is mid 60's all the way: think CCR or the more laid back Cream stuff minus the tube saturation. The clean sound is surprisingly good and mild blues tones are on tap and pretty convincing with the gain around 3 o'clock. The overdrive channel however, is a different, dissappointing story: past half way it's too fizzy sounding to be enjoyed. If fact, what distortion this amp has is more fuzz that distortion. That's the downside; there's not really any tasty gain on tap. It does however sound really good with a pedal or two: tube-like, warm and responsive. As for the effects, they're pretty good when used sparingly but nothing to get too excited about (I went for the model with the effects primarily for the reverb). If Orange would have put a better distortion circuit in this thing and less effects (and nixed the cheesy tuner as well as put the power switch on the top panel were it belongs), it would be a great amp for the price. As is it's just a bit better than average when compared to other amps in this price range.
